St. Albert for the Weekend (April 11, 2025)

It's Fri-YAY!

I remembered to take a picture of my hair this morning.
Grey is gone, gone, gone and I love how it turned out.

Haylee and the girls went into the city last night with Crystal and Zepplyn because Zepplyn was dancing today and they won gold for their routine.

After work, Jason and I headed in to the city too.
Freya is dancing tomorrow and we want to watch so we booked a room at the same hotel they are at.
We are going to stay in all weekend because, why not?

We went to a shawarma place in St. Albert and I ordered the Shawarma platter.

Jason had the shawarma wrap.

It was actually quite good and I'd eat there again.
The place was called Master Pita.

We checked in after that and caught up with the others.
I still needed some steps to reach my daily goal and we had brought Eden's stroller with us so we decided to take the girls out for a walk.

Freya wasn't feeling the best but she did want to come with us.
So we drove down and parked near the trail then walked over to a park on the trail

It was a bit further of a walk than I remembered but everyone was ok with that.

Eden was happy when we got there so she could get out and run around.

The girls played on the park equipment.

At least she seems to be feeling better.

I think kids must be oblivious to the cold.
Zepplyn was wearing shorts and it wasn't really that warm out but she didn't seem to mind.

Eden was enjoying herself - she was trying everything out.

She certainly kept me on my toes chasing her around - she's just fearless.

She walked over the little bridge all by herself.

Stopped to have a look halfway.

Playing at the park.
She loved the slide.

Freya still fits in the baby swing.

There was workout equipment kind of on the other side of the park so I went over there with the big girls and Jason stayed with Eden while she kept going on the slide over and over.

While we were over there, this fellow drove by in this little car.
Someone else in the park flagged him down so he stopped so they could ask some questions and I took the girls over so they could see it close up.

He said it was a fully enclosed electric mobility scooter.
It even had a little back seat that could fit two people.
He said it cost him 13,000.
I thought it was just awesome - would be great for mom.

Done with the slide, now she's testing out the bench - the look on her face cracks me up.

There was workout equipment kind of on the other side of the park so I went over there with the big girls and Jason stayed with Eden while she kept going on the slide over and over.

We had our fill of the park so we headed back to the car.
Freya really wasn't feeling the best again so she shared the stroller with Eden for the walk back to the car.

Back at the hotel Eden fell asleep but we took the girls down to the pool.
There were a bunch of kids there and it was just craziness.
But we stayed until they closed the pool at 10 pm.
Crystal had come down as well, she and Zepplyn left a little earlier.

Kody came in today so he could watch Freya dance tomorrow - she came and slept in our room for the night.

Freya was a bit nervous about her dance tomorrow asking questions like how would she know what black curtain to go through and how would she know which way to go after.
We assured her that Miss V (her dance instructor) would be there every step of the way to help her out and I think that eased her anxiety somewhat.

All those loud and crazy kids happened to be in the room beside us and they were just going wild in there.
I don't know it their parents/guardians just left them in there on their own but it sounded like furniture was getting knocked over (over and over again) and they were shouting and just being outrageously loud.

We've been in hotels before where there was rowdy kids and noise but nothing like this.
We ended up having to call the front desk to complain and have someone go the room to get them to settle down.

Luckily because Freya was feeling so poorly - it didn't even seem to bother her, she fell right to sleep no problem.

I sat and looked through some pictures on Jason's phone that he's taken recently and I thought I'd share them here.

Sitting on the chair, enjoying a bubba.

Making pizza with Papa.

Playing in the box my puzzle board came in.

Getting Eden to play in it with her.

Nope, she's done.

I'm back to thinking about re-doing our bedroom so I was looking for ideas again.
I love the built ins on this wall.
I asked Jason if he thought he could build it and he figures he can.

I do like this shiplap wall too though and I'm leaning toward this color palette - It's calm & soothing & peaceful.

I also like this wall and the beams - I'm wondering if I could do faux ones or if it would even be worth doing in such a small space like our room.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
