I was hoping to get out for a run this morning but when I woke up, I felt really nauseous, like I couldn't even get out of bed.
Jason felt just fine.
He got me some Pepto Bismal and I went back to sleep for a bit while he went out for a run.
I don't know if it was something that I ate last but just thinking about Denny's now makes my stomach do flip flops.
When Jason got back to the room I was feeling much better.
We packed up and checked out then went for a walk around this lake that was right by our hotel.
This tree in bloom looked so beautiful.
I keep hoping to see a alligator 'in the wild' but I think if one had come walking up out of the water that I would have peed my pants.
It would be much preferable to see one from the safety of the car!
Soaking up the sunshine already - I love it.
This is the lake that was right by the hotel and it had a walkway all around it - very pretty.
Jason found a spot for us to go and have some breakfast - Dixie Belle's.
I also had my standard side of bacon.
Then they had sweet potato biscuits so you know I had to try one of those.
It was so fantastic that I ordered one to go for later.
Then we hit the road and headed to the East coast to check out Cocoa Beach.
We found a spot to park then walked to the beach to check it out.
It was a lovely white sandy beach.
I was expecting it to be really busy and crowded for some reason but it wasn't at all.
I love the ocean and the waves - it's so peaceful and soothing.
We went for a walk along the beach and I had to take my shoes off so I could feel the sand between my toes.
I also wanted to walk along the water's edge to see how cold it was.
It wasn't very cold at all and if I'd had a bathing suit - I think I might have jumped right in.
It did get slightly colder when the sun would go behind the clouds but there weren't that many clouds in the sky so it didn't happen that often.
I like watching the birds - they are quite entertaining believe it or not.
My Honey and I.
We walked quite far in one direction before turning around and walking back.
Jason took his shoes and socks off so he could feel the sand and walk in the water too.
There were so many birds.
The sky looked so pretty - all pastel colors - the camera didn't really capture how nice it looked.
The we walked back to where we'd parked - it was kind of a residential area but there were a few shops and restaurants.
So we decided to just leave the car where we'd parked it and to go for a walk to see what we'd see.
We found a seafood restaurant on the water but the wait time was too long for us.
This giant tiki looking thing was on the corner of the restaurant - great photo op.
Gorgeous mural on the side of a building.
We walked back to our car and we were getting quite hungry by this time so we found a place to go for some supper.
I was craving a feed of clams but nobody seemed to have them.
We found a seafood restaurant and headed over to it.
The restaurant we'd found was inside of a hotel then we noticed this restaurant right outside of the hotel so we decided to go here instead just mainly so we could sit outside and enjoy the weather.
Longboards Beach Bar & Grill
I got myself a smoothie mocktail drink.
Then I ordered salmon.
Jason got a poke bowl.
The food was good and the setting was even better.
The sun was starting to set when we left.
The palm trees looked nice against the drop back of the pastel colored sky.
What a gorgeous evening.
We headed toward our hotel room in Melbourne but stopped at a Home Goods on the way to pick up a couple of towels and they had these two funky outdoor 'bars'.
The little moped was super cute.
But the VW bus was my favorite.
I'd totally buy this if I lived nearby and had an outdoor area that I could use year round.
Jason liked this print - I do like the melding of the old timey girl in the modern setting.
We found towels then headed to our room to check in.
I didn't think to take any pictures of our room - it was an Extended Stay and it was pretty plain Jane but adequate for what we needed.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
