Out and About in Tampa (Mar.2, 2025)

Jason found a park with trails in it near the hotel so we got up and headed over there first thing in the morning.

It was only a 10 minute walk and it was a nice quiet area.

A City Park.

It wasn't a huge park but it was nice.

Jason took off running and I followed the path and it took me right to a beach.

It must have been close to the airport - several planes went by just in the few minutes that I was there.

Jason finished up his run and met me at the beach then we walked back to the hotel together.

We were looking up things to do in Tampa and found that there was a water taxi that toured around the bay and that sounded like something fun to do so we headed right down there.

They had two different routes they did, one went around the bay and the other went up the river.
It was a hop on hop off taxi but we decided to just stay on the whole way around.

We lucked out and were able to sit at the back for a better view.

It was a lovely day to be out on the water.

The party boat.

We passed some very beautiful homes.

Wouldn't be a bad spot to live.

Downtown Tampa

Our view of the boat.

We were on the boat for about an hour or so, we stayed on for the whole route.
We figured we'd do the other route too but first we wanted to walk around a bit and maybe find something to eat.

We found a spot to go eat and they have a free trolley downtown that would get us most of the way there.

We did have to walk a little bit from the stop we got off at.

The place was called Bread on the Bay and they closed at 3 so we got there just in time.

As per our MO, it was gorgeous out so we sat outside to take advantage of that.

Sunshine makes me so happy.

It was a Cuban spot so we got Cuban sandwiches.

The one I got had onions which peaked my interest.
It ended up being crispy onions which I hadn't expected but it was really very good.

We hopped back on the trolley to head back downtown.

They are these old timey trolley's and they are great.

We happened across the Tampa Riverwalk so we decided to check that out and that ended up being a wonderful decision.

It was packed with loads of people - everyone was taking advantage of the Riverwalk and why wouldn't they - it's great.

There was interesting things to see along the way like this alligator.

A big bull.

There's My Honey.

What an absolute stunner of a day.

There's the water taxi - this is the other route.
It has a bunch of stops along the river walk too.

We were really enjoying the day.

Just some pictures of the river.

It was quite long, I'm not sure how long but it just kept going and going.

We came upon this big grassy area.

There was a really cool statue there.

It was a restaurant with a bunch of seating outdoors.

There were these cool fairy tale statues sprinkled around the area like Captain Hook.

Cinderella and her pumpkin coach.

A really cool looking puppy.

Another puppy.

Snow White.

The Wicked Witch from Snow White with her apples.

We happened upon a food hall so we went in to check it out.

It was hot out and I wanted something cold so I ordered myself an acai bowl.

This was a Cuban spot and they had chicharron so Jason got an order of those, we noticed they had Tres Leches so we got that too.

It was a huge place.

It had lots of windows so lots of light coming in.

There were lots of food options.

We took our food outside and found a spot on a curb to sit and enjoy our food.

There's my acai bowl - we shared it.

The chicarron.

The tres leches was so delicious.

Look at that sun shining - it just equals pure happiness to me.

This is the outside of the food hall - see how big it is.

There were just so many people around enjoying the day - it was nice to see.

We continued on with our walk after our snack and break.

This end of the riverwalk kind of ended at this bridge.

Whenever we have the opportunity to cross over a bridge, we do so we did that today.

Then we just continued walking back on the other side of the river.

We walked until we came to another bridge so we could cross back to the other side that we started on.

This was looking down onto the riverwalk from the bridge.
Isn't it nice?

This would be such a great place to go for a run.

If I lived here I would use this everyday.

We made it back to wear we started near the water taxi - we decided we didn't need to go on the other route because we walked the whole way down the riverwalk anyway.

On the side of the building.

The river walk extended the opposite way so we followed it that way.

The sun was setting and it just looked so nice.

The colors of the lights on the water looked beautiful too.

We hopped back onto the trolley and headed to the old part of town in Tamp - I didn't even know there was an old part until they mentioned it on the water taxi today.

This restaurant had beautiful tile work on the outside.

And just check out this door - stunning.

The tile work continued all the way down the block.

I liked the look of the buildings down in this part of the town.

Giant rooster inside a store window.

This painted piano was just randomly on the sidewalk.

I like the lights going across the street.

We came upon an ice cream shop that made its own ice cream so we had to try it.

They had lots of good flavors to choose from.
I tried the Sicilian Pistachio.

And the Brown Butter Praline Pecan.

Jason had the Salted Pretzels and Toffee

And the Guava Pastelito.

They gave you a little piece of waffle cone with your ice cream.

They had a chicken on their counter.
Chickens must be a thing around here.

Just look at this door handle - it's awesome.

I love murals.

After our walk around old town, we got the trolley back to where we parked the car and headed back to the hotel.
It was a great day,

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Back home it was ladies night - Haylee and Morgan got dressed up with their friends to go out for the night.

Their costumes look so good.

Bathroom selfies.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
