Last Minute Vacation Prep (May 18, 2024)

Today is not officially weigh in day but since we are heading out on vacation tomorrow, I just wanted to know what my starting point was.

212.6 lbs.

Hopefully I don't gain too much while I'm away.

Dee messaged me this morning to say that she'd picked out a grave marker for my Dad.
She's going to buy his ashes at a graveyard near her house and I'm so happy because now there will be something to show that he existed.
I told her I would help out with the cost because I knew it wouldn't be cheap.

Once it gets placed and the ashes are buried I'd really like to go back to Newfoundland for a trip to see it.

I worked on my blog this morning and got myself all caught up.
Freya slept in really late.
She woke up for a bit at 9:30, I went in and laid down with her and cuddled for a bit then I had to get up for something and she fell back to sleep.
I think it was around 11 when she finally got up - she went to bed really late so she needed the sleep.

Not long after Freya got up, Haylee, Kody and Eden came over.
I asked Haylee to dye my roots for me before I go on vacation.

My hair grows so fast - it's hard to keep up with.
Here is the before.

Haylee put the dye in.

And Freya combed my hair.

Eden was happy to play in her exersaucer.
She's almost too big for it already (too tall).

They left right after, they were taking the girls to Whitecourt to spend the day.

After they left, I had a shower to wash the dye out.

I remembered to take an after picture this time - It looks great - no more grey which is the main thing.

I went for a walk then - I walked down to the office to get some information then walked back home.
It was cold and windy out there.

Then I spent the rest of the day just getting things done before we leave.
I checked in for our flights, I did the rest of the laundry, changed our bed sheets so we come home to a nice fresh set.

I took mom to get some groceries - the boys always check in on her when we are away and take her for groceries and things if she needs so that's good.

I also packed and cleaned the kitty litter - you know, all the things!

Our plan was to head to the city tonight so I went online to book a room and the prices were just outlandish.
I'm not sure what was going on but the room we normally get for about a hundred bucks was 350.00 tonight.
So we decided to skip the hotel and just get up super early in the morning and drive in.

Our flight leaves at 10 and its a 3 hour drive so we'll be getting up at 4 am - early to bed tonight!

When Jason got home from work, we walked over to Crystal's and had her witness his will - he made some changes to it and just wanted everything finalized before we go.
Then we walked to the store and picked up frozen pizza for supper - easy to cook and no mess.

My brother Rob happened to be there so we got him to be the second witness on the will - worked out perfectly!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Birthday Dinner for Hunter - Without Hunter (May 17, 2024)

Google photos created this reel of mostly Freya pics and I thought it was so cute I save it.
I love her so much!

Today was my last day at work since we fly out to Nashville on Sunday so I wanted to make sure everything was done before I headed out.
It was a very quiet day - only Shennelle, John and I were there.
Everyone else was either on vacation or days off.

I finished everything I had in my inboxes which is a good feeling.
I'm going to be gone for nearly 2 weeks so I know it will be full again when I get back but at least I got caught up as much as I could before I left.

I had planned on having everyone over for Hunter's birthday since we will be away but Mel had plans with the kids so he couldn't make it.

I still had everyone else over anyway though.

Kody and Adrian (talking to Eden).

There she is.

Freya

Mom

Rob, Morgan, Kalem and Mom.
I just made tater tot casserole and baked ham & cheese sandwiches.
It was good and it was just nice to have everyone over.
Morgan is getting so close to her due date.
The baby is likely going to arrive while we are away so next time I see Morgan, she'll be a mama.
I can't wait to meet baby and hope all goes well for her.

After they left, I was cleaning and working on laundry and Jason kept Freya entertained.

She wanted to bake something.
Things are about to get crazy up in here.

She just loves mixing flour and water and whatever else together.
Here she's adding cheese to her creation.

I had a bunch of steps to get so I went down and walked on the treadmill to get them done.
It took me about 50 minutes to get them done.
It was grey and dreary outside and chilly - we even got snow today, it didn't stick but yuck!

That didn't stop Jason and Freya though - they went out for a walk and to play at the park.

When they got back, Freya took Eden's exersaucer for a test run.
Can't believe she fit in it.

I spent the rest of the evening playing blog catch up.
I got behind a bit when Jason's computer wasn't working and I usually end up getting behind when we go on vacation so I wanted to make sure I was right up to date before we left.

I do plan on taking my new little lap top with me (which I'm loving by the way) and I'm hoping I have time to do some blogging while we are away so I don't get too far behind.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Growling Girl (May 16, 2024)

I picked Freya up from school today

Her grad pictures were ready - they turned out well - I like the ones with her wearing the graduation cap and while I prefer the one with the grey background, I think I'll order the one with the yellow background because it has the date on it.

Haylee had an appointment this afternoon and Kody got called out to work so I watched the girls for them.

Eden was pretty smiley.

She is a pretty happy baby.

Freya was busy playing games on my tablet.
Then she was playing with her sissy.

Growling at her sissy.
It was super cute and had both Freya and I cracked up.

I love getting lots of snuggles in with her.

I think she's teething - eveything goes in the mouth.

She crashed in my arms.
I could have stayed that way and stared at her for hours but I pulled myself away so I could do some dishes.

When she woke up, she was happy to play in her exersaucer for a bit.

Freya snuggling with Hazel.

So sweet - Hazel is the only one of my cats that doesn't go into hiding when kids are around.

Kody picked them up around 5 and I did some cleaning up around the house then I walked over to Nadine's.
She needed some help with something and I needed some steps so it was a win win.

I ordered some subs from subway for supper - I was going to drive over and get them because it was overcast and it looked like a storm was blowing in but Jason got home and he was down for walking so we did.
It was a bit chilly but I'm glad we did because I got the rest of the steps we needed and it was just starting to sprinkle when we got home so we made it just in time.

We watched the last couple episodes of Outer Range tonight.
Ended up watching them on the big screen in our room because the internet was being finicky and we were having a hard time getting it to work.

There were a lot of lose ends when it finished - so Jason looked it up to see if there is going to be a second season and what do you know, the second season was released today.
Guess we'll have to watch that now.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Make Up Skills Are Improving (May 15, 2024)

I picked Freya up to take her to dance today and it was bring a friend day so I picked up Dakota and he went along with her.

After she came home with me and she wanted to do my make up again.

I mean - I do look pretty good. 😊😊

Taking some selfies.

She's such a little goof sometimes.

Great duck lips.

When I was picking her up from dance, I met Adrien there dropping off Alivia and Hunter was with him.
He was supposed to go to the library with his friends but they weren't there so he texted to see if he could come over

They wanted to go for a walk to get an ice cream so when Jason got home, so we did.
Then we played at the skate park again before walking back home.

Jason and I have been watching a new show that he found:

Outer Range - I don't really understand what's going on but I still like it.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Needle Felting (May 14, 2024)

I finished Mad Love today so I found another free book that I started listening too.

I've been walking back and forth to work so I have lots of time to listen.

I actually look forward to the walks so I can listen.

This time I'm trying The Life We Bury.
This one is read by a man which I wasn't sure if I'd like but I do.

Freya picked out what she wanted to wear to school.
Jason texted to see if it was warm enough for it - I didn't think so but she wore it anyway.

He picked her up from school and they went for donairs.
I walked there and met them then I walked back to work.

They went home and she did Papa's nails for him.

I think they look great.

She wanted to go to the park and she insisted they both dress all in black.

They do a craft club in town once a month and I always forget about it.
They were doing needle felting this time and I've always wanted to try it so I made a point of signing up for it right away.
I got the little kitty cat kit.

I made one little kitty.
I think it turned out well for my first try.
The kit came with all the tools and enough wool to make all the kitties pictured - one of these days I'll get around to making the rest.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In and T-Ball Game (May 13, 2024)

It's Monday so that means weigh in day.
I didn't track as well as last week but I still made good choices and I did start getting my 14,000 steps in per day so I'm hoping weigh in will be good.

I was 213.6 lbs.

That's down .6 lbs - nowhere near as much as last week but still down so that's good.

I walked to work this morning - I am excited to walk now that I got Audible because I look forward to listening to my book on the way there.

Jason said he was brushing Hazel and he got a ton of hair from her.
He said she just loved being brushed.

Jason met me at the office and we walked over to Subway for lunch then he walked me back to the office.

I went ahead and signed up for Audible today - I ran out of minutes on Spotify and I'm totally hooked on audio books.
There are a bunch of free books on there so I found one to try and so far I'm really liking it.

Freya had a ball game in the Fort tonight and we wanted to go watch.
Haylee asked if we'd just like to carpool so she didn't have to drive down there alone so we did.

Miss Eden was so happy and smiley.

The kids were all playing in the park together when we got there and coming close to game time, the team they were playing against were all out warming up on their bases and stuff and our team was scattered all over.
Some were crying, others wouldn't leave the park - it was kind of funny.

They got sorted and got out to their positions but they still didn't really know what they were doing.

At one point when they came off of the field, Freya walked over to Haylee and said "Why did you sign me up for this".
Jason and I cracked right up - it was hilarious.

Batter up!

She hit it so fast I didn't even get a picture but then she kind of just stood there and we had to remind her to run to base.
It was the same with all the other kids on her team - it was cute.
They are just new - they will learn.

Hanging out at third.

Jason got a good picture of her running.

They only played 4 innings and that was enough - the kids were done.

When we got home, she wanted to spend the night.
Kody was off to Fort McMurray for the night and Jason is off tomorrow so it's just a help for him to take Freya to school in the morning rather than Haylee having to get both girls ready so she came home with us.

I needed a few more steps to get to 14,000 so I went right down to the treadmill when we got home to get them out of the way.

Got er done.
