We had no kiddos this morning so we thought we were going to have a quiet day.
I had plans on getting started in the bathroom.
I want to clean it, paint it, put up wallpaper and then the new medicine cabinet and light fixture.
But then Crystal texted to see if we wanted to go to Prairie Gardens in Bon Accord for their Fall Festival.
So we decided that yes, we'd go and wait to do the bathroom on a day when the weather wasn't quite so nice.
Kody and the girls were also coming and I have room in the car so I suggested we all drive together.

It was about a 2 hour drive - a little longer actually since we made a few stops along the way for coffee, then gas then bathrooms.
It was another gorgeous day - I think some of the best days we've had all summer.
We came to this place before and we really liked it.
They have it set up really nicely with all kinds of great photo ops.
Like this wall set up with all the old signs.
It was busy here today so we had to park in a second parking lot that took us in through the back way.
We could see into the back sides of these quonsets.
This one had all these tables and chairs set up in it like you could hold an event there or something.
There was this tiered display of sunflowers.
Another was full of pumpkins for sale, all different kinds.
I especially like these bumpy, odd shaped green ones.
There were just interesting things to see everywhere that you looked.
I love how they added the pumpkin head to the skeleton then painted it all orange.

Eden wanted to head straight to the goats.
This guy was on the roof just watching everything that was going on.

Jason twirled Freya in this cozy tent swing thing until she got dizzy.
I could spend an afternoon in one of these reading a book.
Pig crossing.
The pigs came running out at one point and they were oinking all the way over to the fence, it was so funny.
They had a section with a bunch of different slides.
Both girls spent a significant amount of time here.
Helping Eden go down.
She loved this one and went back to it time and again.
They were doing face painting and Eden wanted her face done.
Sitting nice and still to get it done - that's quite the feat for her.
She wanted to be an orange kitty.
Aww - so cute.
Another cool set up in the back of one of the quonsets.

They just had these really cool vignette's all over that were really well done.
They had different craft stations and one of them was making a fairy house which was right up Freya's alley.
The girl there that was doing the crafts with the kids was really sweet.

There was a little gift shop with some cool looking mugs.

The creepier the better in my opinion.
I wish I had a spot to display a bunch of these.
I love fall decor but we normally have snow by the time Halloween rolls around so it doesn't seem worth it to decorate when it's likely going to be covered in a few layers of snow.
Kody took Eden over to make a fairy house too.
She put a bunch of mini dinosaurs on hers.

This was a giant metal heirloom tomatoe.
The old trucks full of pumpkins look so nice.
We eventually made our way over to the actual entrance.

The girls went through it several times.
Freya made Jason go with her the first time but then she was good to go,
Eden even went through a few times.
A skeleton in an old claw foot tub - awesome.
They have all these little buildings that you can go in and they are all set up.
They really put a lot of work into it and it looks amazing.

There was another station where you could paint a pumpkin.
Freya painted a face on hers and a couple little fairies.
Old wooden witch sign - I love how old and worn it looks.

This garbage can would close then it would pop open and this racoon would pop out kind of screeching.
It was right beside the pumpkin painting station so we got to hear it a lot!

Of course Eden wanted to paint a pumpkin also.

Jason took Freya to the gift shop and she tried on a few hats.

She ended up getting the red and black one - it looked cute on her.

They had let their pumpkins dry for a bit and now they were back for round #2 of painting.
There was a whole field full of scarecrows.
Eden threw a handful of dirt at Jason, luckily he had his sunglasses on so it didn't get in his eyes but he was pretty dirty.
We were trying to get her to leave and she didn't want to go.
We stopped at a restaurant in Legal for supper.
It took a long time to get our food and it wasn't that good but you win some you lose some.
I thought for sure that Eden would fall asleep on the drive home but no, she hung in there.
She was entertaining as usual with her funny faces and comments.
She's started calling everyone Bro or Bruh and she also does this boy voice that's really deep and it sounds hilarious when she does it.
The sky was looking pretty on the drive home.
It was 9 pm when we got back to town.
We dropped Crystal and Zepplyn off then Kody.
The girls came to our place for the night because Kody has to head to work at 4 am so we will get them off to school in the morning.
I ordered some curlers for Freya and they came in so she wanted me to do her hair.
I put them all in, it took about 15 minutes or so - it was fairly easy to do.
I'm excited to see how it turns out, if they actually will curl.
Did not make my step count but it was a very good day.
