Calgary for Meetings (Sept.14, 2026)

Our meeting was only starting at 11 this morning but I had Christian reserve a hotel room for me so I went over to work at my regular time, picked up a Starbucks and some egg white bites along the way.

For lunch, Mark and I went to a place in the tower on the second floor, there were all kinds of options.

I had a cabbage roll, some perogies and a few other things.

It was ok.

After work, Jason, Mark, Christian and I went out for dinner to a place called Brix & Barrel (Alicia had a dentist appointment so she couldn't make it).
I had the mushroom soup to start and it was delicious.
Then I had salmon for my entree with potatoes and broccolini.
The salmon was really good but the rest was just ok.

After dinner I went back to the hotel, changed then headed out for a walk.

It was such a lovely evening.

Some of the flowers are still in bloom.

I love it when cities out some effort into making spaces beautiful.

Just random beautiful spaces everywhere.

I love that building in the background here.

I think folks that have trails and parks like this to use are so fortunate.

Being by the water is another thing that I miss - it's so calming and soothing.
I love it when I have the opportunity to come walk by it.

I didn't notice when I was here last time but they have these giant pots of flowers here just like we saw all over the cities in Wisconsin.

I was treated to some wildlife sightings.
I saw several bunnies.

And there were squirrels running all over the place!

I also see these giant painted chairs that I've never noticed before and I have walked along here before.

They were both neat but the Panda one was my favorite.

More giant pots of plants - so beautiful.
I walked for about an hour - I would have stayed out a bit longer just so I could get the rest of my steps in but I really needed to use the washroom so I had to head back to my room.
Once I was there, I didn't want to go back out.

I listened to my latest book while I walked then finished it off back in the room while I worked on my blog.
I liked the story - the narrators weren't my favorite but they did grow on me as the book progressed.
I think I'd give it 3 stars.
Now I have to find a new book.

Didn't quite reach my step goal.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
