Exploring Windermere, Invermere and Radium Hot Springs (Aug.20, 2021)

We woke up to a nice day out there.

This is the view of the lake from our backyard.
It's only one house away.

It's a nice big lake too.

There is a public beach there at the end of our street (again, only one house away).

Love waking up to this little face!

We had coffee then headed out for a run.

I did just over 5k - it is very hilly here so it wasn't the easiest but when you have to do some up, that normally means there is some down too so it evens out!

The exercise details.
My heart rate seems to always be in that same range.

My average pace and splits.

Came across a mama and her two babies.
There seem to be a lot of deer around here.

Grabbed a picture of the house.
It has 5 bedrooms, not fancy but perfect for what we need.
Rita and Lloyd arrived late last night but we still have a bedroom to spare.

We all got ready and headed into Invermere this morning to do some shopping around.

Zepplyn was getting lots of comments on her Ladybug costume.

The girls weren't really into shopping so we kind of just walked around.

We did go to 'The Bakery' to get treats.

Then we all sat outside and ate them.

I got a tuile, it was just ok.

Freya wanted doughnuts - she picked up a pack of them and would not let them go.

She did have a few bites.

Then she went and had a visit with Papa Randy.

The downtown area is quite nice.

It wasn't as busy as I remember it being last year but that might be because today is a week day.

Just chatting.

We didn't so any shopping really - the girls just weren't into it so we just headed back to the house.

We all went over to the lake for a bit this afternoon for a dip.
It was pretty cold getting in but once you were in, it felt really good.

After that, we kept the kids while Kody, Haylee, Crystal and Randy took a trip to Radium to check out the Farmer's market that they had going on.

Then when they got back, Jason and I headed there to check out the market.

It didn't really have anything that interested us but just up the street from it was an ice cream place so that's where we headed.

I thought this little display they had in their window was funny.

I skipped the cone myself but they put it in this weird shallow bowl.

I 100% agree!

I had pistachio - yum yum.

Jason had his old people rum raisin.

We just sat in the sunshine and ate our ice cream.

There happened to be a food truck there at the market that we'd seen around last year in Invermere as well but never tried.
It had polish fusion food and we figured we might as well give it a try.

So we got perogies with a thai twist.
They were pretty good, the cole slaw that came as a side was fantastic.

When we got back to the house, we decided to go for a bike ride.

There are some really gorgeous places in the area.

We noticed this pizza place, POW Pizza, and we ordered a couple pizzas then we all walked back up to eat.

It was a really great set up.
There was a food truck that they cooked the pizza in and it was parked up against this seating area.
Great idea.

Freya was having a great time running back and forth (note that she is in her barefeet again!)

They had a basic menu and it was all detroit style pizza.

We ordered three different kinds.
We had the Pandemic.

The Classic Pepperoni.

Kody and Haylee's pick was the Hey Bob which ended up being everyone's favorite.

The menu said that each pizza could feel 2-3 people which we thought was kind of pushing it but it was actually very filling and I was only able to have two slices.
I didn't even end up tasting the Pepperoni one.

Kody being goofy - I see where Freya gets it from.
Zepplyn even enjoyed the pizza.

Haylee, Freya and I.

We walked back down to the house.

Then took the girls to the lake for an evening swim.

Freya was just walking in there, she didn't want to get right in.

I don't blame her, I wasn't brave enough to get in.

Haylee and Zepplyn were though.
Just going for it.

Kody took a bit longer but he got in there too eventually.

Freya kind of half way did - she was having even if she didn't get right in .

Just chasing her blow up pool noodle around.

I picked up this little bathing suit for her in Chetwynd while I was there and it looks so cute on her.

Got it!

She tried floating on it but it didn't work that well.

Ha ha - she wouldn't put her head in the water, instead she was putting the water on her head!

While Jason and I were in Radium, Crystal gave Freya one of her birthday presents, a Cat Noir costume.

Cat Noir and Lady Bug are characters from a show the girls like to watch, Miraculous LadyBug.
Cat Noir is a boy but he is Freya's favorite.

So she and Zepplyn got all suited up.

Ha ha - love the pose.

Just rocking their costumes.

Crystal posted this on Instagram and I love it.

We had a little visitor in the back yard and Jason captured this great shot of it.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
