Car is Towed, Finally (Feb.13, 2025)

Still busy as ever at work.

I heard back from the Nissan dealership in Leduc (LA Nissan) and he said they'd finally agreed to tow the car the whole way.

Sure enough, just afterwards, Nissan Roadside Assistance called and said they would cover it 'this time' but they were very reluctant and not happy about it and so I've decided that even though I like the car and I really liked the folks that I dealt with at LA Nissan, as soon as the car is fixed I'm going to trade it in.

I was not happy with their roadside assistance at all.

They got a tow truck set up and they'll be coming to pick my car up today.

So I was doing some more research - I am thinking about getting used but not too sure yet.

Haylee was working so I went to their place and waited for Freya to get off the school bus.

I like all the stickers she had on her face.

They had a little Valentine's Day party at school today since they don't have school tomorrow.

We headed to my place - Jason had Eden there.

The tow truck was just arriving to pick up my car when as we were getting there.

Since Jason was there with the girls, I was able to go down and walk on the treadmill to get my steps in for the day.

Always feels good to get it done.

I have these baskets scattered around for the kitties to sleep in and Eden likes to sit in them.

I love it when she has a little ponytail in - it always looks so cute.

Starting in with the electronics already.

Freya was all about doing challenges tonight.
This one was to see who could keep the plate balanced on their head the longest.

The shirt she has on was Freya's when she was little.

Such rosy little cheeks.

Lemon juice challenge.

Cupcake challenge.

Trying out Grandma's glasses.

Ha ha - I guess this is supposed to be how I look.

being bossy and giving orders.

Do what I say or else.

They are so much fun.
They both ended up staying the night with us and we just love having them.
It's going to be so sad when they don't want to spend nights with us anymore - hopefully that's a long ways away!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Walking is Better than doing Nothing at All (Feb.12, 2025)

Another busy day at the office.

We switched over to a new Learning Management System and so I've been flat out trying to get training rules created in there.

We don't have a lot of experience so we have office hours with the support from Oracle every afternoon for a couple hours so that takes up a lot of time.

We are making our way slowly but I think the complete transfer is going to take much longer than first expected.

I was on the phone again with Nissan to see if they'd let me get my car fixed her - they wouldn't.
They still insisted that they would only pay for the first 100k.
I ended up calling the Nissan dealer where I purchased the car and spoke to the fellow there - he agreed that they should be covering to get my car towed the whole way so he said to leave it with him and he was going to go to bat for me.

I hopped on the treadmill after work to get my steps in - I just walked.

I want to get back to running but am having a hard time making myself do it.

I do have faith that I'll get there eventually

In the meantime though, walking is better than doing nothing at all.

Jason came over to hang out for a bit with Jason today, she was still there when I got home which was nice.
I always love seeing her.

She really wanted to go roller skating but there's still too much snow outside so she just did it inside instead.

Just having a break.

She got her little doll all set up in the chair so she could hang out and watch Freya roller skate.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Oversize Jammies (Feb.11, 2025)

Very busy day at work today.

I didn't have time to workout at lunch so I hopped on the treadmill right after work to get my steps in.

I did some running but mostly walking.
Still - it's activity and it feels good.

Jason stopped in at Kody and Haylee's after work and Eden had on these jammies that were WAY to big for her.

He just thought it looked so funny.

She was having such a hard time walking around with them on that she just decided to get down and crawl instead.

Hanging with her buddy Ozzy!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In and Good Thing I Got New Glasses Coming (Feb.10, 2025)

Monday means weigh in day.

I was 225 lbs.

That's down 8 lbs since last weigh in which wasn't even a week ago so pretty stoked about that.

I took my glasses off this morning to clean and they snapped right in half.
Good thing I just ordered some new ones - hopefully they will be ready soon.

I had an old pair at home so I was able to go and get them and I can use them until the new ones are ready.

After work Freya came over for a visit.
She wanted to spend the night so I let her.
I'll just drop her off at school in the morning then head to work.

She and Jason were doing lots of dancing.

Dance off - who has the best moves?

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Blog Catch Up - Sticking to the Plan (Feb.9, 2025)

I got up early and was working on my blog until Freya got up.

Then she and I hung out for the morning.

I convinced her to watch Matilda finally and she really liked it which I figured she would.

Later in the evening after she went home, I hopped on the treadmill to get my steps in.

I ran and I did 5k.

Still putting in the work everyday.

Other than that, quiet day.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Car Shopping, Evening with Our Girls (Feb.8, 2025)

I'm so mad about the service that I'm NOT getting from Nissan Roadside Assistance that I'm thinking about trading it in once it's fixed.

So I have been doing some research on vehicles.

I think I'd like to go with something bigger that what I have now.

I'm thinking of a Ford Explorer or maybe a Kia Telluride.
Shennelle said she looked at the Telluride and loved it and Bonnie used to have an Explorer, I drove it a few times and I loved it.

We figured out that if we keep our foot on the gas of the car, it will stay running so I was able to get it down to the mechanic shop here in town and he put his code reader on it.
He wasn't sure he would be able to get it to work but it did and he said that the issue is the Mass Airflow Sensor.

He suggested I called Nissan again tomorrow to see if they'll give me permission to have him fix it here, he said it's a pretty easy fix so I think I will do that tomorrow.

Video call with the girls.

Freya was putting filters on  - Eden looked so funny,

They ended up coming over for a visit.

She loves this little chair.

She wasn't feeling very good so she wanted to snuggle and she fell asleep almost immediately.
I was happy to get lots of snuggles in.

My sweet girl.

After a little nap, she got her second wind.
Waiting to hear her song.

Freya did my makeup again - she made me a pirate today.
She's very creative.

Her haircut looks so good on her.

When Kody got home from work he came and picked up Eden but Freya ended up spending the night.

I did lots of walking around the house to get my steps in.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

New Haircut for Freya - Looks Fabulous (Feb.7, 2025)

Freya called me at lunch time today - a video call.

She got her haircut and she was so excited to show me.

I stopped over there to see her and it just looks so good on her.

It makes her look so grown up!

I noticed on my warranty for my car that it said that they would cover the towing for up to 250km so I called Nissan Roadside assistance again today but they argued with me and still refuse to tow it and cover all of the cost.
I was furious about it - Jason said to just leave it until he goes on days off then we'll figure out something.

I hopped on the treadmill after work to get in my steps.

Still getting it done.

Wild Rivers is coming to Edmonton and I really want to see them.
Jason is working that day but I finally convinced him to leave early that one day and come with me.
The moment he agreed, I went and bought us tickets.

I am so excited and can't wait to see them!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Shennelle's Birthday Lunch and Optometrist Appointment (Feb.6, 2025)

The car still isn't working so Jason got his old truck going so that I could have his new truck to take back and forth to work.

We went out for lunch today to celebrate Shennelle's birthday.
Shennelle and I.

Bonnie.

I had an eye exam after work today in Barrhead and I picked out some new glasses for myself.
Since I can't see that great without my glasses on, I had to take pictures of myself with all the contenders so that I could see how they looked.

I tried some darker colors and different shapes.

I feel like these were dark and I wasn't sure about them but I ended up choosing them for my computer glasses.

These were too big.

These were ok.

Also too big.

I tend to gravitate more towards the rectangular shaped ones.

I did like these.

I wasn't sure about the color.

I did like these ones.

I ended up choosing this pair for everyday.

I ended up picking out three pairs, one for everyday, one for the computer (I've been struggling to see the computer lately) then I also treated myself to a pair of prescription sunglasses which I've never owned before.

When I got back home, I had to hop on the treadmill to get the rest of my steps in.
The picture did that strange thing again where it showed the time when I snapped the photo but it faded or something and I didn't notice.
I ran (slowly) but I managed to get 5k done.

I got super sweaty but it was such a good feeling to be running again.

That's it for today, until next time, be happy!
