Not Feeling Well (Dec.10, 2025)

It was just a regular day at work today.

I had lots of meetings - makes it hard to actually get any work done.

I had big plans for after work.

The first thing I did was finish up the reindeer I was making as the model.

It's that craft we are going to do at our admin get together on Friday - I'm going to make kits up for everyone.

I had to also wrap my gift for tomorrow's gift exchange here at the Swan Hills office.

I also got started on the laundry then I had planned on baking something to eat at the office tomorrow but I started feeling really sick to my stomach.

When Jason got home he cooked up some supper and I couldn't eat any of it.

By the time I felt like eating a little, I realized it was after 8 and I have bloodwork booked for 8 in the morning that I have to fast 12 hours for so I couldn't.

I took some pepto bismal but my tummy just wasn't getting any better so I just went to bed.

Jason stayed up and made some candles.
They turned out really well.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Snow, Snow and More Snow (Dec.9, 2025)

It has been snowing and snowing and snowing and snowing.

I had to be to work extra early this morning to let the nurses in that were doing the clinic at our office today so I was there by 6:30.

Jason had Eden over for the day, Haylee had to go to an appointment then afterwards Eden just wanted to stay so Jason let her.
He was trying to get her to go for a nap but she wasn't falling asleep so he built her this cozy blanket fort in the living room full of pillows.
She loved it but she still didn't go to sleep.

Jen won tickets to the Oiler's game so her and Declan went last night.
Looks like they had a good time.

Jason edited this little video of Eden dancing at Glow the other night.

She is so stinking cute!

This is the craft I plan on doing with the ladies in St Albert on Friday.
Jason cut me pieces so I could build one as an example then Shennelle called her hubby Jody to see if there was any scrap wood out at the warehouse we could use.
He said they have lots so he's going to cut out 16 of them for us.
Jason will cut the pieces for the hat brims and noses and I'm going to do up kits for everyone.

I think it will be a fun and can't wait to do it.

Handmade crafts are really a big thing this year and I just saw these today and thought they would have been a great option for an office craft as well.

There are tons of options out there.
Maybe next year.

I picked Haylee and Freya up after work to run a few errands then Freya came over for a visit.
She really wanted to go swimming but both Jason and I had things we needed to do.
She was inconsolable that she couldn't go and nothing else we suggested was appealing to her.

Jason got the bright idea to call Crystal to see if she knew of anything else going on and luckily, there was a crafting event going on with Paws (a group that works through the school).
She'd signed Zepplyn up for it and they were on their way over there so she stopped and picked up Freya and took her too.

Eden didn't quite want to go home, she did finally end up having a short nap so Jason just held her then after she woke up, we did take her home.
She was looking forward to seeing mom.

I got my snowman base coated - the paint I picked up is terrible, it is watery so didn't cover very well and it was taking forever to dry.

So I think I'll have to pick up new paint on our way into the city Friday morning.

I'll finish up the rest of it tomorrow night and get some packages put together.

Other than that, it was a quiet evening.
I was tired from being up so early - Jason was tired too so we had an early night.

I have lots to get done tomorrow evening so I want to be good and rested up.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy.

Weigh In, Clean Up and Curling (Dec.8, 2025)

Today was weigh in day.

I was 233.6 lbs.

I have not been sticking to WW obviously - I haven't been going ape shit crazy but I've been having snacks and I have not been active the way that I normally am.

I really need to get my poop in a group.

So that was a gain of 3.4 lbs over the last two weeks since I missed last week's weigh in.
I have a feeling I'm not going to really lose over Christmas but if I can at least not gain, I can have a fresh start at the beginning of the year.

I've been seeing so many baking reels lately and it has me in the mood to do some baking myself.

These snowball cookies look so good.

The recipe looks pretty simple.
The only thing about making this stuff is that I then want to eat it so I normally don't bother.
Maybe I will though, we'll see.

Jason went to pick up Eden because Haylee had to work.
He sent me this picture and I couldn't figure it out at first but it's her in her snowsuit standing sideways and pointing out the window at Jason.

They picked me up from work and she wanted nothing to do with me.
I was trying to say hi to her and talk to her but she put her head down and wouldn't even look at me, the little stinker.

I tried to get her out of car seat and she pushed my hand away and said 'No, Papa', so Jason had to do it.
It made me a little sad but she came around later in the evening.
She is most definitely a Papa's girl.

We got Freya tights on the weekend (they are more like nylons really) and she just loves them, wants to wear them everyday.
She wanted to wear them like pants and was not happy when we insisted she wear a skirt or pants over top but finally relented when she found these shorts.
She does have her own sense of style - a little quirky just like her mom but I love it.

Eden seems to be feeling much better although she did have a giant bout of diarrhea while she was here tonight.
It leaked right through her diaper and her pants and was a huge puddle on the kitchen floor.
Thankfully it happened there and not on my new carpet.

Jason and I tag teamed, he cleaned the floor and I took Eden right to the tub and cleaned her.

I had to curl so Jason had the girls for a bit by himself.

They were really into the electronics so he had a short break but I know they had him downstairs playing when I got back.

Freya did go swimming tonight - Crystal got her a season pass for her birthday and it was a great idea because she goes anytime that she can.
She loves it.

We won at curling tonight, by a lot.
So the other team gave up after the 6th end and we got to go home a little early.

When Kody came to pick Eden up, he was changing her bum and she has a bit of rash so when he was trying to clean her, she was saying 'You hurt me Daddy', she says it kind of piece meal, like a space in between each word.
She's trying to figure out the sentence thing and she's putting words together pretty well, she misses a word here and there but she gets across what she is trying to say.

She did keep saying 'Eden all better'.

It was late when he left and I have to be to work for 6:30 to let some nurses in, we are having a health screening clinic at the office tomorrow.
So it was off to bed for me and Freya who was spending the night again.
It didn't take me long to fall asleep because I don't even remember Jason coming to bed which is rarely the case.

I did manage to get my craft room cleaned up today on my lunch hour and after work so I can get in there tomorrow night and work on a few crafty things I've been wanting to get to.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Sick Baby, Shopping, Swimming and Home (Dec.7, 2025)

Poor little Eden had a pretty rough night last night.

She was sleeping in with Haylee and woke up vomiting at some point through the night.

Haylee was washing up the sheets and Kody was helping so I was just snuggling Eden and consoling her.

When Haylee finished up and was going back to bed, Eden didn't want to go so I took her to bed with me which Freya did not like - it was pretty crowded.

Freya got up and went in with Haylee which was probably best since Eden kept waking up to vomit about every 20 minutes or so.

At the end she had nothing left in her little belly, so it was just bile - I felt so bad for her.

I'd put her by the toilet and she'd lean over it then when she was done she'd want the toilet cover down immediately - she didn't want to look at it.

Then she'd say 'all better' and we'd take her back to bed.

It kept happening for the rest of the night.

Each time, Kody and Jason would both come in and help and there was one point where she wanted to go back with Daddy so Kody took her but I'd hear her when she got up and I'd go and help Kody out.

Around 5:00 am I knew I wasn't going to go back to sleep and I was up for the day so the next time Eden got up to vomit, I took her with me and told Kody to get some sleep.

I kept hoping it would stop but it kept up all morning.

We had to be out by 10:30 so I left her with Jason for a bit and went downstairs to do some clean up and get the dishes into the dishwasher.

The elves opened up a questionable museum in the kitchen.

The Museum of Poop.

They left the girls a nice note like always.

We managed to get everything packed up and were out of the house on time.
Crystal and Zepp went off to do some shopping.

We had Freya with us and found a spot for some breakfast and Kody, Haylee and Eden met us there.
They got there late so we'd finished eating already so Jason took Eden out to the car and let her sleep and sat with her while Kody and Haylee ate.

She still isn't feeling well at all - she's so pale.
They were giving her gatorade but she can't keep anything down.
If she's still like this tomorrow they are going to take her in to the doctor.

Jason got the bagel and lox and look how good the fruit looks that he got with it.
Very fresh and it wasn't just canteloupe and honeydew like those fruit bowls usually are.

My breakfast - the bacon had a funny smell so I couldn't eat it.
So disappointing.

After breakfast, we went to do some shopping at Walmart.
Kody and Haylee went too so Jason sat in the car with Eden while the rest of us went in, she still wasn't feeling well at all and slept in his chest the whole time.

Crystal was in there too, she was leaving Zepp with us because she had to go back to Swan Hills and pick up Randy then head back to Barrhead for the night so we were just going to take her with us and drop her off in Barrhead.

We had to make a couple other stops but then we headed to Barrhead, Jason, Freya, Zepp and I.
We had planned on taking the girls swimming in Spruce Grove today but the pool was closed due to some competitions going on in there today so went went swimming in the Barrhead pool instead which worked out well.

We swam for about an hour then we made a few stops in town before dropping Zepp off to her grandma's (Rita) and heading back to Swan Hills.

Freya wanted to spend the night and Jason is off tomorrow so it worked out.
We stopped by Kody's to grab her bookbag on the way home and Eden was feeling much better by this time, back to her old self.

She was wearing just a diaper and when Jason walked in, she ran over and got her boots and brought them to him - she really wanted to come too bless her little heart.

Jason is going to pick her up tomorrow afternoon after his run and a few other things he needs to do then maybe she can spend the night tomorrow night.

I picked up two new little Christmas characters on the weekend so I had to find them homes.

I'm running out of room but they are so cute they are hard to resist.

Freya found the coloring book I picked up on the weekend and she loved it.

The pictures in it are super cute.

She added the little speech bubble all on her own.

She is so creative and really a fabulous little artist.

Jason picked up a little tree over the weekend and some lights so he could put it inside the fairy house.

He also put a set on the outside of the house to make it more festive for Ivy.
It looks fantastic.

Haylee posted some pictures of their Christmas so far I thought I would share.

Decorating the Christmas tree.

CHEESE!

They took her skating in town for the first time.

She did not want to get in the car.
She doesn't enjoy being buckled into her car seat especially when they are leaving something they were doing that was fun.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

WEM Christmas Shopping, Glow Edmonton and Santa Pictures (Dec.6, 2025)

I didn't get the greatest sleep last night, there were three of us in a double bed so it was not very roomy.

So I ended up getting up quite early, before everyone else.

The elves were here and up to their tricks.

They left some signs over the stove there and they kept falling behind the stove so I had to keep replacing them before the girls got up.

I have no idea how 67 became a thing but it did.

There were elves all over the place this morning.

They left the girls a nice note.

This place is so big and roomy and I love the big island.

We'd turned the heat down so low when we got here last night that it was kind of chilly in here this morning so I turned up the heat, grabbed a blanket, a coffee, a cozy spot on the couch and got to work on my blog.

I AM FINALLY CAUGHT UP!!!!

I've been working and working at it and I finally got all up to date on the blog this morning and that felt so great to get that out of the way.

I won't ever let myself get that far behind ever again.

Once everyone was up and at it, we all got ready and headed over to the mall.
Kody and Haylee headed there on their own to do some Christmas shopping then the rest of us all went together.

We did a little shopping - I was looking for tights for the girls but no luck.
Then we went to the food court for some lunch.
Freya had Chinese food - she loves chow mein noodles.

I had some Indian food, a biryani rice dish.
Jason had Edo and Eden just shared with both of us.
She really likes chicken so she had a lot of that.

We separated briefly so that Crystal could also do a bit of shopping and Jason and I took all the girls.

The girls did a virtual ride and we walked the mall but we didn't really need anything so we decided to head out.

We stopped at Dollar Tree so I could get some craft stuff then we just went and hung out at the house for the rest of the afternoon.

We bought tickets for Glow tonight and Santa will be there for pictures so we are going to get everything done at once.

Freya was so excited to put on her new outfit - it does look beautiful on her.

She got Grandma Crystal to curl her hair (she did a great job) and she wanted to see what it looked like in the back.

I think she felt like a princess in her dress.

Eden looked cute in her dress as well.

She was a little harder to coax to pose for pictures so this is what I got.
I don't imagine the headband will last long but at least she let me brush her hair and put some ponytails in it.

She was chilling watching "Papa phone"

More dress pictures.

I had to get one with her fancy gold shoes.

This cool moose was in the lobby of the Expo Center.

There was an elf greeting everyone as they came in and she was telling Freya how much she loved her dress.

This years theme was Enchanted Forest.

They had all these ornate gold frames hanging in front of the sign at the entry way for picture taking so we took advantage.

Our little beauty.

I headed right for the Santa photos and there was a line up so I offered to stand in the line and text everyone else when I was getting close to the front since I'm the one that wanted the Santa pictures.

These are some of the pictures they took while they were exploring.
The way they had this tree lit up looked so cool.

This kids always love these hanging lights.

Freya.

Eden was having fun.

I love these trees and the big giant insects looked really good.

Got lots of pictures of the girls with those.

Pretty in pink.

Eden really loves the lights so we had thought about taking her to the raceway to see all the lights there from the car but she can barely see out the window when she's in the car so we figured this way, she could run around inside and really see all the lights and I think we made the right call.
She loved it.

She could really get up close and personal with the lights here.

Eden.

Freya

Glow

I love this picture.

This one is great too.

Then I got them to come back to Santa because we were nearly at the front.
I tried putting Eden's headband on - this is what I got.
She is such a character.
She wouldn't leave it on her head but kept pulling it over her eyes so she looked like Data from Star Trek.
So we ditched the headband for the pictures.

They had a professional photographer taking pictures but you could also take pictures yourself.
So this was my picture.

Freya having a chat with Santa - he was a really good Santa and took the time to talk with each of the children that wanted to chat.

Awww.

I got the package where they printed out 3 pictures of my choice then they also send me all of the poses digitally.
I think this one was my favorite.

They all turned out good though.

Santa has such a big smile.

The fam jam.

The girls on Santa's lap.
Eden wasn't crying but she wasn't too sure what to think.
Mom and Dad had to stay close.

Jason took this one - it turned out pretty good.

I wish this one wasn't so dark because I like it too - I think Haylee might have taken this picture.

Haylee and Zepplyn also did one together for Crystal.
I had to wait in another line just to purchase the pictures so I told everyone to go on ahead and I'd catch up with them.

I didn't really know where they'd gone when I finished up so I took a walk through the Enchanted Forest on my own looking for them.
This stack of presents was pretty.

Some singing trees, the lights moved along with the so it looked like they were animated and the trees were actually singing.

I loved these trees - I was trying to figure out how they made them, I wouldn't mind having a few for my front yard.

I've seen the giant moose and deer before and they never fail to impress.

The lit up tunnel.

It is really fun to walk through.
Wouldn't this be fun to have over a walkway at home or even our driveway?

They had some new style of trees - gorgeous too.

The stations for stamp collection (there is always a scavenger hunt) were these adorable mushrooms.

A giant lit up acorn you could stand inside of for pictures.

There was a talking tree.

More trees - I am a tree girl so I can always appreciate a nice tree.

The fox was new.

There were two of them.

I thought they were so cute and they were huge.

Another lit up structure you could go inside, this time a mushroom.

A mushroom and a giant snail.

There were a bunch of mushrooms.

The tree forest the girls had been in earlier for pictures.

There were even fairies.

The wings on this butterfly moved.

Another butterfly - this one was giant.

It was hard to get a picture of this tree to capture how pretty it was.

Here it is again, it was in the middle of the route the little train did.

Giant moose.

I love how they did this tree.

This owl was impressive too - I don't know how they did the lights on it but it looked amazing.
I went through the whole forest and didn't find the family.

So I went over to the food trucks and they were all there eating.
There were 4 different food trucks there and they all just had poutine mainly.

I bought Dubai strawberries which was a cup of fresh strawberries with chocolate and pistachio sauce drizzled over it and some of the really skinny coconut.
It was good but not worth the 16.80 it cost me.
Freya loved them too and ended up eating all of them on me (I was happy to let her since she liked them so much).

They had this big LOVE sign that Haylee wanted to take pictures in - there was a couple in there taking pictures so we were waiting for them to finish up.
The lady was leaned against the edge kind of and Eden just went right in there and kind of pushed in behind her to get by.
It was kind of funny - they were just about done so they didn't mind, they laughed at her.

Posing like sissy.

Family picture.

Even though they aren't looking this way, I really like this picture.

Kody took Eden on the train.

Off on a train ride.

And they are back!
She liked it, we all went on it again later on.

Jason had pre-purchased some tickets for a virtual sleigh ride so we did that next.

Only 4 could go at a time and that's how many tickets he got so that worked out perfect.

They had a screen to the side that showed the same video the riders were seeing so Jason had Eden over there watching it.

Virtual sleigh ride at Glow.

It's not the same as watching it with the virtual headset but it's still pretty neat to watch what they are watching.

She is Papa's girl for sure.

I got a picture of Kody taking a picture - ha ha.

Freya wanted to go on the round swings.

Jason got some really great shots of her on them.

She wanted Kody to come on with her so he did.

Then we went on the scavenger hunt.
If you get all your stamps and turn the card in at the end you get a free ornament.

Checking out the giant snail..

Eden was loving all of the lights.

Checking out the talking tree.

She figured out how to make it talk.

Talking tree.

She saw this reindeer and went right up to it then asked it if it was Daddy.
Ha ha ha.
We all cracked up.

Jason's so good at getting motion pictures.

I love this one of Freya running through the tunnel of lights.

Eden checking out the giant stack of presents.

The retro deer was super cute and Freya looked so sweet sitting by it.

Just laying around taking it all in.

I think this means they were done and it's time to go.
We were there for around 2 hours and I think that was the perfect amount of time.

We really enjoyed it this year - I think we decided we are going to make it an annual event.

We headed straight back to the house and ordered pizza for supper when we got there.

Then we watched a Christmas movie (My Secret Santa) and called it a night.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy.
