The Snow is Melting and Freya is Home (Mar.17, 2026)

It was nothing but a sheet of ice out in the world today.

Kody ended up calling to say that his job was delayed for a bit but he was close to town so he & his swamper were just going to hang out at his place for a bit.

He couldn't drive his big picker in town though so Jason went and picked them up and took them to Kody's.

Then instead of me taking Eden to Morgan's, I dropped her off at Kody's until he had to go back.

Which ended up being not that much later.

Once the sun came out everything started melting.

Kody ended up losing his wallet somewhere between all of the vehicle transfers so I drove him around for a bit to look for it but we could not find it.

We were hoping it was in Jason's truck (it was not).

On my lunch hour, I popped over to Kody's to let the dogs out and to have another look around for the wallet (still no luck) so I only had time to be on the treadmill for 30 minutes (plus warm up and cool down).

I didn't feel like running again, maybe tomorrow.

On my way back to the office after lunch, Kody called me again.
He was in town picking up pipe and asked if I'd come get him so he could have one more look around for his wallet.
He was freaking out and I don't blame him.
We looked everywhere, got Jason to check his truck again and drove the route we had this morning just in case he'd accidentally put it on the roof but no luck.

So I dropped him off and went back to work.
He texted me a bit later to say that he found it - YAY.
He went back over to where he'd parked his picker this morning and got out and looked around and it was in the snowbank on the passenger side.
Disaster averted.
I'm so glad he found it.

When I got home from work, I was in the driveway trying to clean up some of the snow and ice before everything freezes up again.
Jason picked Eden up from Morgan's on his way home and she just couldn't resist playing in the puddles.
It's a childhood rite of passage is it not?

I still needed a bunch of steps so I went down on the treadmill and knocked that out while Jason watched Eden.

When I came up, I found the chilling on the couch together.

Jason went down and ran on the treadmill too as it was just to treacherous to run outside and I stayed with Eden.
She wanted me to come sit on the couch with her.
Not quite cuddle with her though, just be near her.

Around 8 Kody called to say he was home and so were the travellers so we took Eden home so we could see them.
In the car on the way, I said that Eden was the cutest little girl ever and she said 'Me know did' which I think translates to 'I know I am'.
She's so confident and funny, I just love it.

We were so happy to see Freya - she had a good trip but I think she was happy to be home too.

I had picked up some slime for her in Palm Springs because that's what she asked for so I took that over to her.
Eden saw it and wanted it too, I told her it was sissy's and she'd have to ask sissy if she wanted to share so as soon as we walked in the house she was saying 'share sissy, share sissy'?

Freya loved the slime and got to playing with it immediately.
I wasn't sure if she'd want to share but she did - she is such a kind-hearted and compassionate girl.

She told Eden yes right away and they got to it.

We didn't stick around long - they were fully absorbed in playing with the slime anyway but hopefully we'll have a longer visit tomorrow night.

Jason's been working on pinata's for the girls, the gnome for Freya and the Bunny for Eden.
He got those finished up when we got home.
I think they turned out so cute.
He's so artistic and when he has a vision, he really has a knack of bringing it to life.

Haylee posted some more pictures of their trip so I thought I would share them here, no captions.

They didn't have the best weather on their trip but I think they made the most of it and still had a good time.

I'm so glad she's home!!!

I got all my steps in today.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
