It's so lovely to wake up to sunshine and blue skies.
We have a nice balcony to sit on so we've been taking advantage and sitting out here in the morning to have coffee.
We also sit here in the evenings too because it's so peaceful even though there is a busy highway very nearby.
We went back to the park in Palm Desert that we went to the other day for a 5k walk and got to see this statue again.
I just love it.
There was a Wilma & Frieda's nearby which is a restaurant that has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives so I wanted to try it.
They had outdoor seating so of course that's where we opted to sit.
Jason.
Me.
I saw this picture later and was shocked with how big I look.
How have I gotten here again?
I had the chicken salad croissant with tarragon.
It was alright.
Jason had a short rib and jack cheese sandwich - it was good.
I think I had high expectations so I was disappointed.
It wasn't terrible but it didn't knock our socks off either.
It was their second location and it was in an outdoor mall - looked like a nice area so we walked around a bit.
There were these painted goats in a couple spots.
There was a giant ladle with what I thought was a cherry or something.
Jason looked it up and it is actually supposed to be a meatball.
This little statue was super cute.
I like this giant popsicle too.
I have no idea what these weird things were supposed to be.
Jason found a spot nearby that we could rent bikes from so we left the car parked where it was and walked over there,
We passed an art park with some weird sculptures that I didn't really like for the most part.
I did like this one of the horse though.
We passed by this cybertruck that someone had custom painted.
I just hate these things, there are so ugly, not a big fan of Elon either so there you go.
The folks at the bike shop were nice, they gave us some ideas of where to go and we headed out.
We headed down Highway 11 toward La Quinta.
We were stopped waiting to cross the highway and there were these vases of flowers that were nearly as big as us.
A gorgeous day for a bike ride.
We made it to La Quinta which was about a 15k bike ride.
It was nice and smooth - they were nice bikes to ride.
Before heading back, we stopped for water, a pee break and some ice cream.
We found this place, 1/2sies co.
Douchpamine and Chill.
It was a doughnut/ice cream shop.
They make their own ice cream and they had some fun flavors.
I had a scoop of Vitamin C Booster which was citrusy - I liked it.
Then I also had a scoop of Earl Grey Milk Tea which was also good.
Not the best ice cream ever but it hit the spot.
We sat outside to eat it of course.
We'll always pick the outdoor option if we can.
Jason tried a peach doughnut - just ok.
Enjoying my ice cream.
Our rides.
I should have taken note of the brand because they were smooth and easy to ride.
This was our view from the ice cream store.
Can't believe it's like this here and back home, everything is covered in at least a foot of snow.
We passed this gigantic hedge - it was all around a resort.
It must have been about 30ft high and so well trimmed and taken care of.
This statue was at the corner of the hedge.
Rancho La Quinta.
Bet it's a nice spot.
Waiting to cross the road.
Random statue we saw on the bike ride.
It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
We dropped the bikes back off and on the walk back to the car passed this restaurant, Thai Smile and thought Thai food sounded good.
They sat us outside on their 'patio' right at the wall and it was nice.
This was my view throughout the meal.
We got a LOT of sun today, both of us.
I got the Tom Kha soup that I like and their version was delicious.
Then I also got the Pad Thai - it was just ok.
Jason got Green Curry, he liked it.
I tried it and liked it too but it was way too spicy for me to have more than one bite.
Then because they had it, we had mango and sticky rice for dessert.
This was also very good, the mango was perfect, sweet and soft and perfectly ripened.
The restaurant was on El Paseo Drive which is supposed to be a great street for shopping and dining and for just walking so we walked it to the end and back after our meal.
There were high end stores which I don't really shop at but we did appreciate the art installations and it was just a nice place to kind of wander around.

Some other animal statues.
The street was so nice and clean, the stores close early so not much was open but it was still enjoyable to walk along it anyway.
The moon was looking amazing when we driving back to the hotel.
Hard to get a picture and capture just how beautiful it looked.
I limped my fitbit through another day and got all of my steps in.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
