Bartending, Swimming and a New Bird (Mar.14, 2026)

I was up early, I had a coffee and watched a couple episodes of Deadwood.

Then I had a shower and got ready to head over to the curling club.

I volunteered to bartend for the men's bonspiel this weekend and my shift was 10 - 12 this morning.

The couple that were replacing me at noon had never bartended before so I stayed for a bit to show them the ropes.

I've known them for sometime, Denis is actually a co-worker so we chatted and caught up, it was nearly 1 by the time I headed home.

 

Eden had a great sleep in this morning.

Jason said it was around 11:30 when she got up.

She looks a little dazed like she had a rough night (she did not).

When I got home, Jason headed out for a run.

I had some lunch then when he got back, we got ready and headed to Whitecourt.

We took Eden to the pool there and swam for a couple hours, they have a great toddler area.

I think she had a really good time.

We went to Edo for supper afterwards.

She wanted a juice box.

They come with paper straws now which is the dumbest thing.

Jason gave her some pop in her bubba - she likes that too.

She was so excited about her rice dish.

I had ordered gyoza too and she ate a whole one of those.

We went to Walmart after for a few groceries that we needed.

We let her pick out a toy and she talked about getting a Paw Patrol but then when we got there looking at the toys, she got stuck on this pet bird thing and decided that's what she really wanted.

The one she got was pink.

It tweets when you press the button - she really likes it.

It was 9 pm when we got back to town and I had a lot of steps left to get at that point.

I wasn't crazy about the idea but I went down and hopped on the treadmill and got it done.

I just walked and watched a couple episodes of Everwood.

Proud of myself for getting it done.

We had a video call with Haylee and Eden today, they aren't having the best weather in Hawaii, lots of rain.

But I think they are still having a good time.

I can't wait to see Freya when she gets home.

Got all of my steps in.
