Palm Springs Continued - Sherman Deli, Joshua Tree National Park, Coyote Cone, Hobby Lobby & Project Burger (Mar.2, 2026)

We drove around to a few different spots this morning looking for a spot to go for a walk.

The first two places we went to just weren't for us.

We finally settled on the third place.

We started off together and then Jason started running and I mainly walked but did do a little running here and there.

It wasn't a flat paved path, it was more of a trail run with rocks and off roading and hills etc...

Jason got this really cool looking picture of the sun in the sky.

It was such a nice day.

Some of the path looked like this but then suddenly it would just end so you'd have to kind of keep walking until you find another path to hop onto.

There was a view of the mountains all around.

I quite enjoyed it actually.
It was like a chose your own adventure walk because you could go up hills or avoid them, make it as easy or difficult as you wanted to.

The sun really did look so cool in the pictures that Jason took.

A flower he found blooming out there.

This is a great example of how the terrain looks.

We met back up when Jason finished his 5k run then he continued on with me until I finished 5k.

We went back to the hotel room, changed and headed out for brunch.

We went to Sherman's Deli which is a famous deli in Palm Springs, it has great reviews and is really popular.

I caught Jason in and awkward moment.

Moi.

Jason had the pastrami sandwich on potato latkes instead of bread.
The potato latkes were really good - I think I would have preferred the bread instead for a sandwich though.

I had the Oasis Salad which the waitress recommended.

Oasis Salad

Fresh Mixed Greens, Cabbage, Dates, Avocado, Feta Cheese, Almonds, Corn, Chicken, Tomato and Cornbread Croutons. tossed in a Creamy Citrus Vinaigrette.

We got the chicken liver to try for an appetizer - It wasn't really what I was expecting and I didn't like it at all.

After that, we decided to take a drive out to Joshua Tree National Park.

We pulled over a few times for pictures and to walk into the park.

My honey and I.

The sun was looking beautiful again.

There's our car.

The trees look so creepy and eerie but also really interesting and cool.

And there were so many of them.

They really were so cool.

I took sooo many pictures of trees.

This one had fallen over but still seemed to be thriving.

There were blooms coming off some of the branches of the Joshua trees.

This rocky, deserty terrain is different and beautiful in its own way.

I like it but I do prefer lushness over the arid landscape.

Just taking in the views.

Climbing to the top for a better view.

Such a pretty sky.

That's yours truly down there.

Some of the other interesting plants we saw there.

This fuzzy one was weird looking.

A close up of one of the blooms from the Joshua Tree.

There were so many Joshua Trees.

Just look at them all.

We made one more stop, looked at a few more trees.

It all kind of looked the same honestly.

You can see some of the blooms on the top of this tree.

We went for another little walk, followed this path.

The tipped over ones were my favorite.

I wanted to get a Christmas tree ornament so we stopped at the gift shop.

I parked beside a giant beer can.

I liked the Western theme.

Neat horse in front of one of the visitor center.

I like trees that are hangy like this?

I did end up finding an ornament for my tree.

We stopped at this spot, Coyote Cone, for an ice cream on the way home.

They had some interesting menu items.

They had date shakes which are something the Palm Springs is known for.

I wanted to try one while we were here so now is as good of a time as any and I ordered one.

Cute sticker.

They had some cute stickers for sale, I would have bought some but they were very expensive.

They had some cute little cards too - also expensive.

Jason got a strawberry lemonade shake and it was super good.

We passed the giant windmill farm.

We found a Hobby Lobby - it was one of the things I wanted to do while we were here.
I love that store.
I was looking for some journaling supplies.

Jason was looking at some fairy stuff for Freya.

Most of them were too big or heavy to take home in a suitcase.

He did find this cute house idea that he might copy.

Jason saw this - I love what it says.

Jason found a burger place for us to have some supper.

Project Burger.

We sat outside and this was our view.
I love the colors on the horizon when the sun is setting.

This dog was sitting in the back of this car and staring at the restaurant - likely waiting for his/her people to come back.

I had the Blackend Burger
It had smash patties, caramelized onions, mushroom & provolone truffle cream in a black brioche bun.

Jason had the Chile Relleno.
It had the smash burger, smashed chile relleno, bacon, pepper jack cheese, cream cheese, caramelized onions & pickled onions, chipotle aioli on a sesame seed bun.

This Blackend Burger was one of the best burgers I have ever had in my whole life.
FANTASTIC!!!!

We went back to the hotel early tonight, I went for a swim and a soak in the hot tub and Jason went for a run.
This is a picture he took while out running.

My fitbit crapped the bed today.
I had to go find a new charger cord, the one I brought wasn't working.
I got it working again but not well.
I considered buying a new Fitbit but the are 200 US so I'm going to try to limp this one along until we get home then I'll buy a new one there.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
