The snow was melting for the last few days and I thought Spring was finally on the way.
Boy was I wrong!
Woke up to a winter wonderland again.
I had a meeting for WCSS planned for 10 at the office so I thought I'd run to the store to pick up some cookies. I decided to stop at the house to take my Estrogen pill since I forgot to take it.
Not a great start since it is only my second day but anyway...
It turned out to be a terrible decision because I ended up slipping on the ice in our driveway and fell on my wrist,
It hurt very badly.
I could still move my fingers so I didn't think it was broken but figured I better go for an x-ray just in case.
They don't do x-rays here in town so I knew I would have to go to Barrhead or Whitecourt.
The girls were here and Eden was still sleeping and I didn't want Jason to wake her.
He remembered that Crystal was working in Barrhead today so he checked to see if she had left yet, she hadn't, so she picked me up and took me to Barrhead with her and dropped me off at the hospital there.
I had to wait for an x-ray, then I had to wait for the doctor to come with the results.
Turns out it was broken in a few spots.
So the doctor said he'd be back to set it and put a cast on it.
Rita stopped in to check on me, she said she'd be back to pick me up once I was done.
It took awhile but finally he came back
The doctor had to freeze my arm before he could move the bones back into place.
That was extremely painful - I thought I might pass out.
While we were waiting for the freezing to take affect I was getting more and more worried about how painful moving the bones back into place might be.
I shouldn't have worried because the freezing did it's job and I didn't feel a thing.
They got the cast put on, took another x-ray to make sure that the bones were set the way the doctor liked then I was good to go.
I have to keep the cast on for 6 weeks and they gave me a couple of prescriptions, one for the swelling and one for the pain.
it was 3 pm when I left the hospital.
Rita picked me up, we dropped my prescriptions off at the pharmacy then she took me to her place to wait for Crystal to be done work.
She fed me soup and a sandwich - so nice of her.
Crystal finished up her massages, we picked up my medications then headed home.
It was still snowing and blowing and the roads were atrocious.
Jen and the boys were on their way coming for the night but it was whiteout conditions on the road after the Fort so I called her and told her to turn back.
It was a long, slow drive home but we made it safe and sound.
The girls were still at the house.
Freya and Jason had done some drawing today.
This is Freya's dragon, Bob.
Freya helped Eden put on her princess dress today and did her hair and make-up for her.
Eden loved it.
Pretty little princess.
Jason took the girls out for supper before I got home.
Drinking gravy through a straw.
Back at the house Freya prepared a beautiful dish for me.
Then I was feeling kind of exhausted so I was laying on the couch and Eden actually came over and wanted to snuggle with me.
That never happens!
Kody came after work to pick them up.
They didn't put up too much of a fuss about going home which was good because I needed a good nights sleep and that doesn't always happen when there are four of us in the bed!
I did not get all of my steps in today.
I probably could have pushed myself to go get on the treadmill, I mean it was my arm that was broken, not my leg but I just wasn't feeling it so opted to get to bed early and hopefully have a good nights rest.
