We are just loving the weather here.
We found a new park to go for a walk in and did our daily 5k walk.
Not as nice as University Park but it was fine.
Some artwork Jason noticed along the way.
Then we found a brunch spot - Cups Cafe.
We sat outside of course.
Have to soak up as many of those sun rays as we can before we go home.
Jason - I really like this color on him.
I had a Strawberry Matcha Latte.
Not as good as Starbucks but it still hit the spot.
I had the bagels and lox.
They forgot to put the capers on it so I mentioned it to the waiter and they brought me out a huge dish of them which was awesome!
Jason had the blue cheese burger, he loves blue cheese.
It came with sweet potatoe fries which were yummy.
We also shared some French toast.
Very good meal.
Since we are in the land of dates, we decided to check out Shields, the famous date farm.
Not sure on the significance of the knight?
This place looks like it has been around forever.
We tried their famous date shakes.
Pretty good.
We watched a little video about how the farm got started and normally you can walk through the farm but it was closed today due to the weather?
It was very windy out so maybe that's what they meant.
So we decided to take a drive to the town of Indio and look for this Happy Alley that they have there.
Also as a side note, Indio is where the big music festival, Coachella is held.
When we got there and parked, we saw these giant robot looking things in the park.
They were huge.
They looked cool.
There were food trucks getting set up in the park for something that was going on later today.
We walked around the downtown area.
There was this mural.
I like the flags on the lamp posts.
We found Happy Alley
Basically it was just an alleyway with colorful umbrellas strewn across it.
Some pretty murals on the wall.
Fitting mural.
This tree had flowers blooming on it, so pretty.
We passed a restaurant that Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives has been to.
There was this big stage in the downtown area.
Pretty buildings.
Pretty murals.
Another nice mural.
This 'cactus' statue though - love it!
We headed back toward our hotel and decided to stop and check out the casino we keep passing on the highway every day.
I spent 40 and ended up winning 100 which was great!
We didn't stick around much after that.
We would come back though - they have a lot of good entertainers performing here - it might be nice to come to a show here.
We went back to our room and I went to the pool while Jason went for a run.
He joined me in the pool when he finished.
When he headed out for his run it was still gorgeous blue skies.
Then he got to watch the sun set.
Jason's been wanting to try Raising Cane's which is a fast food restaurant that sells chicken so that is where we went for supper.
We got tenders to share.
Then a chicken burger as well which ended up just being a few tenders on a bun.
It was ok - nothing special in my humble opinion.
I started a new book today and so far it's really good.
Some memories popped up on Facebook so I'm sharing.
Crystal took the girls to see the Harlem Globetrotters earlier this year in Edmonton.
She got Freya a souvenir.
Kody with his two cousins.
Kody's first birthday.
Kody being held by his cousin Courtney.
She spent a lot of time with me when Kody was little as I babysat her and I loved it!
Made my step goal!
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
