We thought we had the vrbo booked until tomorrow but got a message last night asking for us to let them know when we were out because they had a quick turnover today.
So we had to pack up and head out today.
Jason ended up booking a cottage in Cavendish for the night for us.
Jen decided to go pick up her boys and she was considering staying the night too.
Taking some selfies on my phone - got to do something to keep herself entertained while we were driving.
We stopped at the Richmond Dairy Bar because I wanted to have clams one more time before we left this Island but they didn't have any.
So we shared a lobster roll instead.
Then we stopped in to visit my cousin Lisa and her husband Todd at the home they built for themselves.
It's all post and beam and what a view they have.
The living room, dining room and kitchen are all one big open area and it is so beautiful.
There are a ton of windows to take advantage of their amazing view.
They just finished this nice deck on the front of their house.
Just gorgeous views whichever way you look.
The view from the DesRoches new deck.
We left their place and I wanted to head to visit another of my cousins, Pam.
We ended up going the long way around to her house but it took us by the glass bottle house so we figured why not stop in and check it out.
This Acadian man built a bunch of buildings on this property out of bottles - pretty neat.
This is inside the first building, you can see better on the inside how the bottle were used to build.
Even some of the furniture inside is built with bottles.
I love how they used the different colors.
The buildings were in amongst this beautiful garden.
Just a different view of the pond.
The flowers were all in bloom and they were so pretty.
This was a gate made out of old doors.
There were lots of little surprises to find here and there like this little houses in amongst the plants.
This building had an old organ in it.
More of the stunning plants in the garden.
There was even an old lighthouse on the property.
Jason and Freya going to check it out.
Freya posing for me.
I can't believe how grown up she is looking.
Another example of the pretty flowers in the garden.
What a lush looking vine trellis.
More flowers.
Another of the buildings on the property built out of bottles.
They must spend a lot of time on the gardens here, they look so neat and well kept.
More flowers.
A pretty pink one.
This tree was gorgeous.
I do love me a good tree.
Another bottle building.
Miss Freya.
That is all lavender running along this pathway.
Another pretty tree.
More garden surprises.
The Acadian flag colors.
After our little detour, we made it to my cousin Pam's and I had a nice visit with her.
Her little grand-daughter got dropped off while we were there so Freya got to see her again.
She met her the other day at the trampoline park and took a liking to her.
Next up we met my sister and her boys at a restaurant in Summerside for supper.
She'd picked them up from their Dad's and they decided that they were going to head back to NS tonight after supper so I'm glad I got to see them first.
It has been awhile since I'd seen the boys and I was shocked at how tall they'd gotten.
They both had long hair last time I saw them too and both got it cut off - I think it looks so good.
We grabbed one more picture will all of us before they left for NS.
Then at Freya's request, we went to the trampoline park in Slemon Park again for her to play.
While Freya & Jason played inside, I went for a walk outside to get the rest of my steps in.
She had a great time running around in there playing and was able to burn off a lot of energy which was good because we had a bit of a drive after this to get to our cabin for the night.
There was lots of places to climb which she just loves.
She's so strong and just like a little monkey.
She didn't get all the way across that time but that never stops her, she just gets up and tries again.
There were these hanging boards that you could walk across that moved around - that was easy peasy for her.
Literally climbing the walls.
Jumping into the sponge pit was fun too.
Climbing out of it was a bit harder but a cinch for her.
Then it was off to Cavendish.
It was later in the evening when we arrived at our cabin - still light out though.
It was a cute little place.
This is the living room.
One of the bedrooms.
A tiny little kitchen but it had everything we needed.
The second bedroom had only one bed.
Freya insisted this was going to be her room and Jason and I would sleep in the other room.
The finally the bathroom.
It had a nice little deck off the back with some seating and a table.
Then behind it there was a small playground and the fenced in area is a pool and a hot tub.
It was closing when we got there so we couldn't go in and try it out.
We thought we could swim in the morning but turns out it only opens at 10 am and checkout is at 10 am so that won't happen this time.
I would consider coming back though.
Just another view of the back of the cabin so you could see that the pool is just right there.
There are a bunch of these cabins.
The front of the cabin.
The back view of the cabin.
We took Freya down to the park and let her play there until dark then it was off to bed.
Our last full day on the island for this trip, already looking forward to coming back.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
