Bike Ride and Kangaroo Farm (Aug.4, 2024)

There is a kangaroo farm near Kelowna that has capybara's which just happen to be Zepplyn's favorite animal so everyone was heading there today.
Jason and I opted not to go and to stay and go for a bike ride instead.

We went out for some breakfast first - found another spot with good reviews - Lunch Matters.

I had soup and a club sandwich and it was really good.

Walking back to the car we passed this window display at a shoe store that I thought was cute.

Then we went down and parked by where Jason ran yesterday  - Kekuli Bay.
The trail goes all along beside the lake and it was just gorgeous.

It was a gorgeous day for a bike ride too - the weather was amazing.

The color of the lake was stunning.

There's My Honey.

This used to be a train track I guess and they've made it into trails and they are just fantastic.

We biked for 20k which took us to another town - Lake Country.
The trail continued on so we could have kept going further if we'd wanted to.

A house we passed on the way had quite the decorations set up in the yard.

And all this blue and fish along the fence to make it look like the ocean or the sea.

We found a store and got some drinks and snacks they found a park to sit in and have a rest and eat our food.

This ice cream we got so yummy.

There was a splash park right by where we were sitting and they had this cool looking sprayer.

Soaking up the sun today!

After our little rest, we headed back.

Jason got some shots of me biking.

I love my bike.

These old trestles are so beautiful.

It was a lot of work but it felt fantastic.

Just look at the colors of that water - it looks tropical.

We ended up biking 40k overall today and these trails continue on in both directions which is so awesome - I would love to go back and do more biking another time.

We packed the bikes back onto the car then changed into our swimsuits and went back down to the water to have a swim.
We also texted  the others to let them know how pretty it was and Kody, Haylee, Freya, Crystal and Zepplyn all came down and joined us there for a bit.
The water was so nice but the sun was going down so it was starting to get cold so we headed home.

We've been passing this pizza place daily since we've been here and been wanting to try it.
We are leaving tomorrow so tonight was our last chance.
Jim's Pizza Place.
We ordered The New Yorker  - it was great pizza.

We made sure to take advantage of the hot tub for our last night here.

The kids has a lot of fun at the kangaroo farm - here are some of the pictures Crystal and Haylee took.

Freya got up close and personal with a snake.

And a little sugar glider.

So cute.

And the star of the show for these girls - capybara

Looks like they are friendly.

Eden got to have a conversation with a parrot.
Haylee said that Eden was doing her little yelling that she does and the parrot was copying her and yelling right back and it was going on back and forth for a bit.

Freya met a parrot too.

So did Rita.

There was an emu.

Feeding the kangaroo.

Eden was really interested in the animals.

Freya and an albino kangaroo.

Freya and another kangaroo.

Lots of kangaroos.

Zepplyn was THRILLED to finally meet a capybara.

Freya really got to meet a lot of animals.

I think the girls really enjoyed their time there at the kangaroo farm so that's great.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
