Blah Day (Nov.21, 2021)

I had another restless night - I'm not sure what's going on but gee, I sure wish I could get a really good nights sleep.

The plus side I guess is that I got up super early, made myself a coffee and was able to get all caught up on a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy that I'd missed before it was even light outdoors.

When it did get light out, I saw that we'd gotten a bit more snow overnight so that was my next project.
I got out there and did some shoveling.

It took me about an hour but I got it all done.
It wasn't sunny or overly warm but it was calm and I was thinking that I'd be able to go out for a run today.
I needed to get something into my belly first though.

I made myself some breakfast and found a movie to watch.
For some reason, I haven't been feeling Hallmark movies this year.
So weird!
I normally love them but when I look for something to watch and they come up, they just haven't been appealing to me at all.
Hope that goes away!

I don't know if it was due to lack of sleep or maybe I'm catching a cold or something but I wasn't feeling the best today.
I dilly dallied all day.
Just kind of picked at Christmas decorating a bit - at a very slow speed.

I kept procrastinating on going for my run and then it got really windy out so I changed my mind about doing an outdoor run.
I was even kind of talking myself out of running all together.
So I called Jason to get him to talk me back into it and it worked, he did.

I would be so annoyed with myself if I gave up on my goal of running 5k every day when I only have 10 days left to go.

So I sucked it up and went down and got on the treadmill.
I just figured I'd go as slow as I needed to - I wouldn't push myself and even if it took me an hour, I'd get that 5k in!
I pretty much ran just at a 4.0 the whole time.
It did take me longer than normal but I got 3.535 miles in or 5.69k.

I didn't give it my best effort but on days like today - I'm just so thankful that I got it done.
I'm proud of myself for not giving up on my goal and doing it even though I REALLY didn't want to.

The decorations are slowly going up.

There are still lots of bare spots but it's coming along.

This is where I stopped for tonight.
The lack of sleep caught up with me and I was ready for bed early.
I'll get more done tomorrow.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Time for a Change (Nov.20, 2021)

I didn't have a very good sleep last night but I did end up sleeping in until about 9 this morning so that was nice.

When we got up, we sat on the couch to watch a Christmas movie but first, we did silly selfies.

I love my mornings with her when it's just the two of us.
She's just such a joy to be around.

She's also becoming a silly selfie pro.

Came up with these looks all by herself.

It had snowed again last night so she and I bundled all up and went out to shovel.
It was super cold out there again but we got it done.
Not fun but a good workout.

I worked on taking down all my regular decor so I could clean and then put up Christmas stuff.

As I empty the Christmas containers, I'll put this stuff into the containers and pack it up for the season.

I also last minute decided to do some organizing so I have no before pictures but here are some afters.

I pulled everything out of the pantry so I could clean it.
I was also able to purge and re-organize everything when I put it back in.
Hopefully we are going to be putting the barn door on when Jason goes on days off so I wanted all theat to be ready to go.

Then I decided that the cutlery drawer needed purging and reorganizing too.
I pulled everything out - cleaned the drawer and the organizer then put everything back.
I find doing it this way is what works best for me.
Pull everything out, clean then re-organize and purge as I'm putting things back away.

Haylee came and picked up Freya around 3pm and I suddenly decided that I wanted to change the living room around.

I felt like it was time for a change and also, as I pulled everything out, I was able to give the living room a good cleaning.

I don't have a whole lot of options on how to set up my living room, basically the tv and the couch just switched sides.

It's still a change though and with everything down, it feels much bigger.

I was doing laundry at the same time so I'd bring up a few decorations each time I came up the stairs so I did get a few things up.

I had over 12,000 steps in but I still needed my 5k run so around 7 pm I went down and hopped on the treadmill.

I got 3.709 miles or 5.969 km in.
I was sooo happy when it was done because honestly, it was the last thing I felt like doing when I headed down there.

I was super sweaty when I was done but glad to have it out of the way.

Jason got home while I was on there and he cooked up the chicken breast I had picked up and prepared a salad for us so supper was ready when I got upstairs which was awesome.

I hoped to get more done but I was pretty tired by that point so I just relaxed and watched tv for the evening.
We watched some Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

I plan on continuing on tomorrow with the Christmas decorating and to get my run in much earlier in the day!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Fri-Yay! (Nov, 19, 2021)

Yay, it's Friday - my favorite day of the week because I have the whole weekend to look forward to.

I got away for lunch a bit late today.

I got all ready and went outside but it was way too cold for me so I turned right back around and went straight down and got on the treadmill.

It felt really hard today for some reason but I got 3.712 miles or 5.97km done.
That means I've gotten in at least a 5k run in every single day so far this month.

As you can see, I was super sweaty afterwards.
I made sure to change before going back to work so I didn't freeze my butt off this afternoon.

I worked late then I went out and did some snow shoveling.
Unfortunately, it is that time of year and I can't say that I'm thrilled about it.

Morgan and I were supposed to go to the city shopping tomorrow but it's supposed to snow and I don't like driving in bad weather like that so we decided to skip it.

So instead, Kody brought Freya over for a sleep over.
We went to Subway and got subs for everyone for supper - with the new WW point system, my footlong rotisserie chicken sub was only 9 points plus 2 for light mayo but that's still pretty good.
It used to be 13 pts plus 2 for light mayo.

I'm really digging the new plan so far.

She recently discovered how to turn up the volume on my phone while she's watching YouTube videos and she insists on having it on full blast so Jason fished out this bluetooth headphones for her to try.

I think she kind of dug them.

She played hard with Papa after he got back from his run then sat with me for some cuddling and immediately crashed.
It was pretty much bed time anyway.

Jason carried her into the bed and she didn't even so much as blink and eye.
So precious when she's sleeping.

Jason went out for a run when he got home from work today and he posted this on his Instagram.
The part about not getting bit by a dog made me laugh.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Housecleaning Can Wait (Nov.18, 2021)

It was a nice sunny day out there today even though it was a bit on the chilly side so I got outdoors for my run again.

I got 6k in.

I would have liked to do longer but it just felt so dang hard.

I don't know if it's me or the road conditions.
The roads are covered in snow and it's not packed down so it's really difficult to run on.
It's kind of like an obstacle course.

I made it without falling so that's a win.
Jason actually got bit by a dog the other night when he went out for a run - like actual teeth marks broken into his skin.

My exercise details.
You can see that my heart rate was up even though my average pace was higher than normal.

My average pace and splits.
Down from yesterday but still up.

I tried to clear a bit of the packed snow off the driveway when I got home then it was back to work for the afternoon.

Oh wait - took some sweaty selfies first.
Front view.

Side view.

Back view.
I really need to clean my mirror.
I planned on doing a good house clean tonight after work because I want to start Christmas decorating this weekend.

I sat in my sweaty clothes all afternoon so by the time I was finished work I was freezing.
Housecleaning will have to wait - I ran a nice hot bath and soaked in there for awhile so I could get warmed up.

Just as I was getting out, Nadine called to see if she could come over to make a few signs.
So I ran around and did some cleaning before she got there and I did get some stuff done.

We made a few signs then after she left, I made shrimp, salad and veggies for Jason and I for supper.
Sorry to report that no further cleaning was accomplished this evening except for the washing of our supper dishes.

There's always tomorrow!

Haylee posted pictures of a visit she and Freya had today with her friend and her new baby.
Freya just loves babies.

Look how happy she is.
He is a pretty cute little guy!

I so do this!!!

First Run in the Snow this Winter (Nov.17, 2021)

Jason was back to work today so it was a quiet day in the house for me today.

It was sunny out at lunch time and I've been missing running outdoors so I made sure to get out there today.

The roads in town are covered in snow and ice, you can't really see the pavement at all so I was very timid about running.

I even changed from my normal running shoes to heavier ones that have better treads because I was so nervous about falling.

I ended up doing 6k and it was nice to be out in the fresh air.

It was chilly but not windy and I warmed up quickly once I got running.

My exercise details.

As you can see, the snowy conditions really wreaked havoc on my average pace and splits.
I had to walk very gingerly in a few icy spots and in other spots I was fighting to get through deeper snow but I got it done and it felt great.

I worked late today then I cooked up pork chops for Jason and I for supper.

Nadine is still busy making signs - she sent this saying it was her favorite so far, I really like it too, the red background really makes it pop.

I mean once you started watching, there was no way you could stop.
You just had to watch until the painting was done.
It was so relaxing too!

Winter Has Arrived, Unfortunately! (Nov.16, 2021)

Tuesdays are always busy for me, I have two meetings one right after another in the morning and today I had an extra one in the afternoon to boot.

Freya came in for a visit between meetings.

I love it when she's here and I can shower her with kisses.
Not too sure how much she likes that?

We got quite a dump of snow over that last two days.
Jason went out at lunch time to shovel so I hung out with Freya and did some laundry and cleaning.
I figured I'd go for a run after work.

Jason was cleaning up his office and Freya found the backpack we have in their with kitty supplies in case we ever need to evacuate.

She kind of claimed it as her own.

She wore it around the house all afternoon.

Ha ha - just waiting to go somewhere.

I went to the office for an hour in the afternoon to print some stuff off and pick up a parcel I had there.
I ordered myself a wood burning kit mainly for cutting ribbon so it won't fray but who knows, maybe I'll get crafty and do some other stuff with it.

Haylee was going to come pick her up but ended up getting her jeep stuck so we told her to just leave her here until Kody got home.
We considered walking her home but it ended up getting really cold and windy so that was off and so was my run outside.

We had the toilet we bought for the basement sitting in the living room and she was having a grand time climbing on it and jumping onto the couch, over and over and over.

She's just a little ball of energy.

Kody worked a bit late and I thought he might have trouble convincing her to go home but it wasn't so bad at all.

After they left, I went down and hopped on the treadmill.
I got 4.377 miles or 7.044 km in - not too shabby.

I was pretty much soaked but happy to be done!

I saw these cute trees on Facebook - someone in WCT was selling them but had to put a stop to orders because they got too many.
I think they are too cute - might see if Jason and I can make a couple.

Day two of tracking my WW points on the new plan went well.
I had points left at the end of the day again.
I thought 23 points wouldn't be near enough but so far, so good.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
