Flip Flop Ready! (Feb.11, 2023)

I woke up early this morning and went and had a nice, long soak in a hot bath.

I did my hair and boy, does it ever have a lot of volume!

I made appointments for Haylee, Morgan, Freya and I to all get pedicures in Whitecourt first thing this morning.
Haylee texted in the morning to say she wasn't feeling well but Freya could still go so we picked her up and off we went.
They had our chairs all prepared for us and Freya was excited but then when we got there, she decided that she didn't want to get her toenails done for some reason.

Morgan was all about getting hers done though, as was I.

She did sit in the chair and soak her feet though.

Getting ready for flip flops!

She ended up deciding to get her nails done instead.

She was pretty happy with them.

They were pink with little hearts on them and they are shellac so hopefully they will last.

I got the nice pale pink color I like with little hearts for valentines day - I love them.

Afterwards we stopped at Walmart so I could get a few things we needed for the trip.
I got Freya a booster seat to take with us and I also got her some headphones for the plane.
Morgan ordered some sushi so we went in to pick that up and I had a bowl of miso soup and Freya and I shared some Teriyaki noodles.

I did stop and pick up some thinner twine for my bells too so I finished them up as soon as I got home.

I'll put them all away now until next Christmas and try to use them in a wreath or something.

I was supposed to run 5 miles today but I didn't really feel like it so I decided to skip it and push it to tomorrow.

I did need a few steps to get to my 13000 though so I walked on the treadmill for a short time.

I spent most of the day working on laundry so that I could pack tomorrow and just house cleaning and stuff.
Freya was there so she &  I hung out.
She wanted a bath so I let her play in there for a bit then I washed, brushed and braided her hair.

I kind of thought she would be spending the night but later my son came over to pick her up.
He was in a cranky mood for some reason and Freya did not want to go at first but I convinced her and she was fine with it when they left but it kind of had me upset for the rest of the night for some reason.
I think because I didn't feel like there was any reason for it.

Anyway - Jason and I watched some One Bite before calling it a night.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Bells Are Looking Good and Personalized Shades (Feb.10, 2023)

It was a super busy day for me at work today.

I had a meeting then I also was working really hard to get everything cleaned out of my inbox so that there is less I have to deal with when I get back from vacation.

I actually ended up working late and I didn't get out for any walks at all today.

So I had a lot of walking to do on the treadmill when I got home to reach my 13 000 step goal.

But I did it!

We took Morgan's animals and dropped them off to Tanner tonight.
He is going to keep them while we are away.
Dakota was a bit lethargic today, kind of just laid in the same spot all day long so we were kind of worried.

I finished up my bells tonight - they just need some rope now.

I did have some thicker rope that I put on this one - it was too thick to tie so I hot glued it onto itself but I really burnt my fingers on the hot glue so I scrapped that plan.
I'm heading to Whitecourt tomorrow - I'll pick up some twine/rope that is a bit thinner.

I think they turned out pretty good.

this was my first time trying some copper colored ones and I like how they turned out.

I hot glued some beads on to these sunglasses for Freya.

I think they look kind of cute.

I'm not sure how well the glue will work.
(The very next day, a couple of the beads fell of then the rest just popped right off).

Paddy-Bear was happy to have Jason back to himself.

He just snuggled his chunky self in there.

And that is where he stayed all evening.

What a cute baby!

Challenging Myself (Feb.9, 2023)

So this week is trucking right along and Florida trip is getting closer and closer.

I've been forgetting to take pictures but I've been working on my latest set of bells here and there and they are coming along.
They are ready for me to darken up the 'corroded' spots then one more coat of metallic and they should be good to go.
Hopefully I can get to that tonight.

I was able to make it out for a walk to the road this morning.
The fresh air is such a pick me up.

The kids didn't have school today and Adrien and Mel were both working so he asked me if I could drop over at lunch to check on the kiddos.
Hunter was just playing games and Alivia being a typical teenager was still sleeping.
Hunter was hungry so I popped over to Subway and got them both subs, got myself one too while I was there.
I ran a few other errands at lunch time then it was back to work for the afternoon.

I've been trying to keep my inboxes really clean and get everything done before we head out.
I know I'll get lots while I'm away but at least it will be starting from a clean slate.

After work, I added the dark paint to the 'corroded' spots on my bells (forgot to take a picture).
Then I went right down to get my workout done.

I had to run 2.5 miles (4k) - I'm always flip flopping back and forth between miles and km's.
It felt not too bad.
I ran the first mile at a speed of 4.0 then bumped it up every minute or so when the second mile started until I got to 4.5.
It felt really tough so I thought I'd bump it back down but I only got to 4.4 and told myself, "Self - it's supposed to be hard sometimes and I need to challenge myself" so that's what I did.

I made myself stay at the 4.4 for the rest of the run, I even bumped it back up to 4.5, 4.6 and even 4.7 near the end.
I feel like if I don't challenge myself sometimes, I won't progress and it always feels so wonderful to conquer the challenge.

Sweaty and proud!

Video check in for today.

One thing I really need to do is to start running outside again.
I'm planning on trying to run outside on Saturday - weather permitting.
Even if I don't, we'll be in Florida next week and we'll definitely be running outside once we get there.
That may be a nice way to get back into it.

When Jason got home, he headed out for a run and I did some more work on my bells.
All that's left on them now is to repaint the insides - I put my hands in them to hold them while I paint them and some of the paint has been coming off.
The paint has been coming off the bottom of the bells as well so I need to fix that.
Then I need to paint the clackers and attach them then this bunch are ready.

I plan on using them in some wreaths next year.

Jason got this cute picture of our kitties looking so regal and majestic this evening.

He also showed me this video he took the other night.
Freya just cuts open any squishie she can get her hands on to see what is inside.
This one happened to be Hunter's (oops) but we'll get him another one.
Jason really likes to encourage her curiosity and I think that is wonderful.

I tried to book some character dining for Disney but it is all booked up for the whole time that we are there unfortunately.
I guess I should have looked at doing that sooner, I really didn't think it would be totally booked.
Kind of a bummer but not much that I can do about it now.

Best Winter Weather (Feb.8, 2023)

I had meetings this morning and didn't have a chance to get out for a walk but I made sure to get out for one in the afternoon.

It was actually pretty nice out there.

I pushed my 5k run from yesterday to today so as soon as I got home from work, I went downstairs to get it done.
I could have ran outdoors likely but I wanted to wear my Alphaflys again.
I will have to get some outdoor training in before the half marathon in April though.
Running on the treadmill and running outside are completely different.

Love me a good, sweaty workout.

Video check in for today.

I have this cabinet at the top of the stairs that I want to get rid of so as I passed it after my work out I quickly took a couple pictures and posted it.

I probably should have wiped it out first but I just wanted to get it done and posted.
I'm giving it away anyway and I will clean it before they come get it.
I did get a taker too - so excited to have it be gone!

Ha ha ha.

Umm - saw this on WW feed and it looks so good.
Totally going to try it.

House Hunting with Freya and Gray No More (Feb.7, 2023)

Ever since my niece Morgan has been staying with us, Mom has become especially attached to her dog, Asia.

Looks like Asia is feeling the love too.
Jason sent me this picture this morning, Mom had a shower and Asia sat looking at the door like this the whole time.

Jason picked Freya up from school and she was having a grand old time playing around with her little friends.
This is her somersaulting over the snow bank.

He went to Westlock to look at a couple more houses for his parents and he took Freya with him for the trip.

He took videos at each place for his mom to see - Freya liked this one.
I wish I could have went, house hunting is fun.

I got out for a walk to the road and back this afternoon.
We have been having quite mild weather again and it doesn't hurt my feelings any.

I had an appointment to get my hair done on Thursday but my hair dresser called to see if I could come in today and the answer to that was a huge, resounding YES!

I don't think I've ever let it get this bad before and it's bringing me down honestly.
I'm thrilled to finally be getting rid of the gray.

I got new streaks then a fresh color over everything.
It took some time but Kim and I chatted and got all caught up - it was nice.
I didn't bother to get her to style it when she was done because I knew I was just going home to hop on the treadmill.
Jason and Freya came to the salon just as I was finishing up and met me.

When we got to the house, Hunter was over visiting and Freya was thrilled to see him.
He is so excited to be going to Disney and even more excited that Ethan and Declan are going to be there.
It just made my heart so happy.

I was supposed to do a 5k run but it was around 6:30 when I got home and I was hungry.
So I decided to push my 5k run to tomorrow so I could go ahead and eat.
I did go down and walk on the treadmill after I ate so I could get my steps in though.

Steps all done!
My hair had dried on it's own and it was kind of frizzy so I decided to straighten it.

Morgan ended up helping me and she got it nice and straight for me.

Look at that - No more gray and I LOVE it!

How we spent the rest of our evening - just chillin' with the kitties.
