Professor Snuggles Gets to Come Home (Oct.23, 2020)

It's Friday, my favorite day of the week.

I wore my new shirt that I picked up in the city on our girls shopping trip.

BH and I bought the same one (without knowing at the time) so I've been holding off wearing it just in case she wore hers the same day.

I may not be as slim as a super model but I sure feel good!

We decided to go out for lunch today, we went to Cool Beans cafe.
BH and NCT.

SV and I.
They are totally used to me taking pictures now and just pose when I ask them to!

I wanted soup, it's just that kind of day, and they had three choices:
cream of broccoli
thai chicken
chicken and wild rice
I wanted to make a fairly healthy choice so the cream of broccoli was out.
I had their thai chicken before and I didn't like it so that was also out.
That left the chicken and wild rice which I figured would be healthy enough.
It ended up being a cream soup too and it was super thick and rich but absolutely delicious.
So not a healthy choice after all but I didn't eat all of it and what I did eat was worth every single point!

I didn't get out for a walk this morning but I did get out for one this afternoon.
It was chilly out there.

Professor Snuggles was ready to come home today so I left work a bit early so I could make it to the Vet in Barrhead before they closed.
PS wasn't happy about getting into the crate and he complained a bit on the drive but he was happy to be home.
They said that he is urinating fine now.
They sent him home with a penicillin to take for the next two weeks and a valium for the next 7.
He also has new food that we need to feed him from now on.

The whole entire vet visit came to $688 and the food was just over $100 so not too bad in my opinion.

I needed a few more steps and I didn't really want to go out in the cold so I found a Leslie Sansone video and did that in the living room instead.

Then I pretty much spent the rest of the evening cuddling with Professor Snuggles, he still isn't exactly himself but I think that may be due to the medication.
We are going to keep a close eye on him though.

I had an early night, heading into the city tomorrow for BH's surprise birthday celebration.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Happy 50th BH! (Oct.22, 2020)

Can I be tired of winter already when it isn't even really technically winter yet?

Yes I can.
But I didn't let a little cold stop me from getting out and getting a walk in this morning.

Today was BH's 50th birthday.
She was back to work and I think she liked her festive office decor.
SG had covered her desk in hole punch papers so it was a bit of a mess to clean up but how good is a party if there is no mess to clean up afterwards?

We went out for lunch to celebrate.
SV & SG.

Me and the birthday girl!

I had a turkey bacon club for lunch, it was pretty good too.
I skipped the fries and had a salad on the side instead.

I needed more steps when I got home so I just walked in place and did squats in the living room until I got them all.

My Insurance company ended up taking out a payment that was much more than they told me it would be so I had to call them and I was on hold for 2 hours before somebody even answered.
By the time they did answer, I was feeling very frustrated and furious.
They of course explained it away but I'm just fed up so I called a few other places and I think I'm going to switch insurance companies even though I've been with these guys for over 20 years.
Loyalty means nothing these days.

I had an FCSS meeting tonight and we were ordering in supper so I headed over there at 6:30.
I was there early so the FCSS Director and I had a nice chat before the others arrived.
A few other board members called in because they couldn't make it and the meeting went pretty well I thought.

We ate supper after the meeting.
I had ordered a Greek salad with a chicken breast up on top.
It was super good.

We stayed around and chatted for a while after the meeting discussing all the things that are going on currently like covid, government budget cuts, oil prices and lay offs at the waste treatment plant.
Everything seems kind of dire and all that on top of my dealings with the insurance company today got me into kind of a funk.
I felt like crying when I got home and for no particular reason, just everything combined I guess.
So I had a decaf coffee for a treat and just headed to bed.
Tomorrow will be better!
Not a game I enjoy but I have played it lots of times!

I saw this on Facebook and I love it.
Going to try to make one!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Collarbones Make an Appearance (Oct.21, 2020)

I had a very busy morning so I wasn't able to get out for a walk before coffee break.

I was looking at social media on coffee break and came across this which I thought was funny.

Personally, I must admit that I love pineapple on my pizza.

I've always been a sweet & savory girl - I think they go together wonderfully!

I did manage to get out for a walk before lunch though.
I made sure I was bundled up because it was cold out there.

BH turns 50 tomorrow so we decorated her office.
She's been away at a turn around since last week which really worked in our favor.
We didn't have to wait for her to go home in order to do it, she was already gone!

I even brought Elmo in and made a Happy Birthday sign for him to hold.

SG came up with an even better sign for him to hold though!
There is a story that goes behind this.

As a joke one time, years ago, a couple of the guys changed BH's screensaver on her computer to a 'sexy' picture of Tom Jones.
Unfortunately for her, she was in a meeting with a bunch of people and logged into to her computer which was hooked up to the projector when she discovered it.
She was so embarrassed.
I think she can see the humor in it now but it took a few years.

When I got home, I got the other side of the candles painted then I did a coat of white paint on all the little houses My Honey had cut out for me.

I called the Vet to see how Professor Snuggles was doing.
They said that he is doing well, he still has the catheter in, they will likely take it out tomorrow then the vet will want to keep him overnight to make sure everything is ok.
Looks like he should be able to come home on Friday.

I cooked up instant mashed potatoes and baby scallops for supper.
I still needed to get a couple thousand steps but I was really procrastinating.
I would get up and walk around a bit then sit back down.

Finally at 8:30 I decided to just go down, hop on the treadmill and get it done.

I did a 3 minute warm up then I jogged for 10 minutes straight at a speed of 4.0.
Then I did a cool down and a good song came on so I stayed longer.

It almost always happens that I don't really want to get on the treadmill but once I get down there and get going, I'm good.

I was happy to get my 10,000 steps in and don't know if you noticed but I have collarbones!!!
I guess I've always had them but you just couldn't see them.

I made myself a decaf coffee with the peppermint mocha coffee cream that I got recently and enjoyed that before I went to bed.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Impromptu Painting Session (Oct.20, 2020)

I am so not ready for it to be winter.

If only we could have a little more fall but alas, I think winter is here to stay.

My Honey walked down to meet me for a walk this morning.
It was chilly but we dressed for it and it was fine.
It feels so good to get out and get some fresh air.

After work, Baby F came over for a visit.
She wanted to do the Dinosaur Stomp dance.

So serious!

NCT had dropped by after work to use our projector at the office to draw a few things and she also had some candles she had painted that she didn't like the flame part on so she wanted me to doctor them up for her.

I was gathering all my supplies and taking them to the kitchen so I would be ready for when Baby F left but somebody kind of got into them while I wasn't looking.

So impromptu paint night it was.

I didn't even get the chance to cover her clothes so I'm afraid they've been ruined.
I tried soaking them but the paint doesn't seem to be coming out.

She had fun though so what's one little shirt?

I had some canvases on hand and she just went to town.

She had a very particular method that she followed.

She also figured Papa needed a little color too.

Her work.
Canvas #1

#2

#3
She actually spread the color out really nicely, it isn't just a muddy mess.
I think I might frame them and hang them in my office.

We had to put her in the tub after that to get her cleaned up.
Luckily she had a change of clothes in her diaper bag.

The we cuddled on the couch.
She likes to have the blankie on her when she sits on the couch - takes after her Grandma there for sure.
I ALWAYS have a blanket on me if I'm sitting on the couch.

Playing the bug squashing game again.

Papa help her and Paddington came over too to check things out.

We picked up this little Bee costume for her in the city and we were able to convince her to try it on to show her Daddy when he came back to pick her up.

Cutest little bee I ever did see!

Her mom wants her to be something scary for Halloween so she'll likely just have this for playing.

After she went home, I got busy on those candles.
I added some different shades of yellows, oranges and red to the flames to make them look more realistic.
Then I also did some shading and highlighting on the candle stick itself.
I'll let them dry and do the other side tomorrow.

I went out to our wood stash and found some pieces for My Honey to cut into houses for me, also going to try making a couple of gnomes.
I got a stain on all of them and then tomorrow night I am going to paint white over top so I can sand them back after and have some of the stain show through.

Everyone should have a pair of Love Glasses!

I saw these on this Instagram page do_dodson_designs.
They are gorgeous, I'm so going to try to make one.

This made me laugh so much - wonder how many peoples credit this ruined?

😂😂😂😂😂

Well that is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Six Months In (Oct.19, 2020)

 Weigh in day.

I was 212.0 lbs this morning.

That's a 1.2 lb loss since last week and a total of 61 lbs since I started.
I started on April 23rd so it's basically been 6 months.
That puts me right around 10 lbs per month which I think is awesome!

I took the day off today to head into the city.
We have an appointment to get a block heater but in our vehicle and we are going to do some shopping.

First stop when we hit the city was Homesense.
I wanted to get towels for my niece but couldn't find what I wanted.
All their Christmas stuff is coming out and I love looking at it all.
This would be so easy to make.

This as well, it's just a little wooden crate - I think I might get My Honey to whip me up a few.

Another easy pot creation.
The pots are cheap at the dollar store and I have tons of ribbon.
If only I could just stay home and craft all day long.

We decided to have our favorite treat today while we were in the city.
Ramen.
It is our third time going for ramen since we started WW but the other two places we tried weren't as good as this one so we just had to go back here.

We had to wait to be seated but we didn't mind.

Black garlic Tonkotsu ramen - so delicious.
I love that they have lots of toppings to chose from too.
I added corn, fried garlic and bean sprouts.
Today was the closest I ever came to finishing the whole bowl.

After we ate, we headed over to the Mitsubishi dealer to drop off the car.
They don't have a courtesy shuttle anymore but they do offer Uber service and it was going to be a couple hours so we headed over to Kingsway mall.

My niece wanted me to order some Skechers for her but when I went to place the order, it said that due to Covid, there would be a delay in the delivery so they had no idea when they would arrive.
So I wanted to see if I could find them right at the Skechers store instead.
They didn't have exactly what she wanted so I sent her pictures of similar items.

She liked both and they had a sale on today, buy one, get the second one half price, so she lucked out.

I also noticed these beauties and they were on sale so I couldn't resist and bought them for myself.
I think I have a shoe problem.

I was on the hunt for a winter coat today but didn't really find anything that I loved.

When we headed back over to pick up the car, it had started snowing.
We had a few more stops to make, like at Lucky 97 so My Honey could get some chili oil, he was just about out.

We left the city and stopped in Westlock to grab a propane heater for the garage.
I checked out Giant Tiger for a winter coat but no luck.

It was snowing on the drive home and a bit slippery so we took it slow.
It ended up being 8:30 when we got home.
We got the block heater installed just in time, I think it's going to be a cold one tonight!

I'd used up all my points on ramen today but since we'd eaten so early, I was totally having the munchies.
I had some popcorn, some clementines and a coffee (decaf) then I figured I'd better just head to bed before I used up all my weekly points on the first day I got them!

I follow Sentimental Salvage & Design on Facebook and she had this cute little snowman that she made posted.
She has a store in Myrnam, AB which My Honey and I took a drive out to last summer.
She offers a bunch of classes that all look so good but it's just so far away that I can't attend any.
Maybe next summer!

These little cuties caught my eye too.
They were posted on 'the countrydoor' on Instagram.
