Farewell PJ! (July 12, 2018)

I couldn't convince myself to get up and work out again this morning.

Work was busy as usual and I feel so blessed to actually really like my job.

My Honey was off today and he was home baking up a storm.
He made a strawberry rhubarb pie and sent me this picture.
It looks delicious.

One of our co-workers is transferring to another district and today was his last day so we had a farewell lunch for him today.

I ordered up soup and sandwiches and a salad for SG and I.
They forgot our salads so I ended up just having soup and sandwiches.

They sent the soup over in a bucket which was kind of weird but at least it didn't spill like it usually does and it tasted really good.

We also ordered a cake last minute and asked the girls at Super A if they could write a message on it.
He was our measurement guy so it was really a clever message.

We all hung out in the large conference room to have lunch.

I like having lunch in there because we are all able to chat which is hard to do with that many people at a restaurant.

PJ is leaving for another district and I am really going to miss him.
I really knew nothing about the oil and gas industry when I started working here and he taught me so much.

He really knows his stuff and he takes the time to explain it patiently and thoroughly.
Plus he just one of the originals that was here when I started, they are dwindling in number so each time another leaves it is kind of sad.

My niece had asked if I could take her for a drive to WCT because she needed to pick up some things so I said that I would.

She saw a baby gift made out of items for baby and she wants to make a couple.

Then my brother called to see if I could babysit which I also agreed to.
I went home after work and waited for my SIL to drop off the kiddos.

Once we got Miss A and Mr H all seat belted in, we headed over to pick up Miss M.

Mr H is talking A LOT these days but I have trouble understanding him sometimes, especially since he talks in a whisper voice randomly for some reason.

He wanted a snack from my purse - of course I didn't bring anything.
He was good though and Miss A chatted us all up on the drive.
She was especially stuck to Miss M and didn't leave her side when we got to WCT and did our shopping.

We made a trip to Dollarama and to Walmart.
Then we picked Wendy's for supper.
Mainly because I could have a salad from there which I did.

I think it was a BLT salad or something and it tasted really good.

Then we went to Dairy Queen because Miss M doesn't like Wendy's and she got herself something from there.

From there we stopped at Tim Horton's for her to pick up doughnuts for her honey then finally we went to McDonald's to get ice creams for everyone (except me, I actually had the determination to say no)!

We really made the rounds of the fast food places on this trip.

On the way home, the kids were occupied with their new things they'd gotten.

Not sure if a kinder egg in the truck was the best idea but he sure enjoyed it.

Miss A got some new goggles which she had to immediately try on.
Mr H was starting to get sleepy and was out like a light not long after this picture.

Just look at the adoration on her face for her big sister!

Just as we were pulling up to town, we started playing around with snapchat or whatever this is.

Cool dude!

These huge smile ones were my favorites.

Ha ha, this is awesome!

When we dropped Miss M off, we took the kids into her place so they could see her tarantula.

Mr H thought it was neat but he was very tentative of her husky Zeke.
He is still a puppy so very excitable and jumpy - Mr H was kind of terrified.

She put the crickets in with the tarantula.

I think the kids were kind of fascinated by it - they didn't want to touch it though.

Side Note - my niece was never the best at keeping her room clean, in fact, she was really kind of bad at it.  Since she has gotten her own place though, she has become the world's best house cleaner.
Every time I drop by her place, it is absolutely spotless!
I am so proud of her - kind of wish I was as good of a house keeper as her truth be told!

She's also a very good mom to her boy Zeke!
Pets are a lot of work and she is very responsible with him.
I am very proud of her.

We took the kids and dropped them off at home next.
I let them each pick out something at the store and after switching up between about 6 or 7 different things, Mr H finally settled on an air horn.
Ha ha, my brother is sure going to love me!!!

I just had to do the big smile on My Honey.
Ha ha ha.

My son shared this picture of Rainbow Valley.
It was a play park in PEI that I went to as a child then in turn took my son to when he was young.
It was such a fun place and unfortunately it has since been closed.
Lots of good memories from there though.

By the time we got home it was quite late so we basically just headed off to bed.

Just about!

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Content Cats (July 11, 2018)

Uggg, I didn't get up and work out this morning.
I was feeling so drained - I talked myself right out of getting up and promised myself I would get it done right after work instead.

I slept in as long as I possibly could before heading to work.

I heard from my sister first thing and she was feeling much better.
Things got sorted and all is good - she was heading to bed to get some much needed sleep.

I got working on monthly reports and boy do they ever take a long time.
It is very monotonous work too - it was making me tired.

There was a meeting going on in the office and they ordered in Subway for it.
There was plenty for everyone but I skipped them, I was happy to go home for lunch just for a change of scenery.

My Honey had made a greek salad and he had cod fish cooking in the oven.
He makes the absolute best greek dressing from scratch, I love it.

It wasn't quite ready so I had chicken again (cooking up all that chicken on the weekend sure comes in handy through the week).
The greek salad was delicious and there was left over baby potatoes and green beans from last night so lunch was pretty darn good.
I love green beans and these ones were really tasty.

The afternoon was more reporting at work and I didn't get it all done by the end of the day.
I probably could have stayed an extra half hour and gotten it completed but I was so tired of doing it that when 4:30 rolled around I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

At least I am almost done so it won't take long to get it finished up in the morning.

There were still subs left so I grabbed one of them on my way out and that is what I had for supper.

My Honey went out for a drive to Barrhead with his buddy BN and they were meeting JRA there.
So I had the house all to myself.
I should have went right down and worked out but instead I sat down and watched a two hour long episode of Outdaughtered.

I snacked on raw almonds and pudding and was having a heck of a time trying to convince myself to go and get a work out in.

It never happened.

I really enjoyed watching these guys changing positions all evening beside me on the couch.
First was the side and belly position.

Then they were on their backs and it almost looks like they are holding hands here.
Quite a far cry from the fighting that had me so stressed out when we first brought Paddington home!
They just look so content and peaceful and that makes me so happy.

A funny for today.

Ha ha ha.

This is actually a great idea.
I love hanging things up and my closet is very organized.
I have it organized first by tank top, short sleeve, long sleeve, sweaters and sweatshirts.
Then those categories are organized again from lightest color to darkest color (I use the colors of the rainbow to determine the order).
So this was right up my alley - great idea for babies room.

We watched some tv then it was off to dream land for this girl.

Not so good with the steps today.

That is all for today, until next time.

Chicken, Chicken and More Chicken! (July 10, 2018)

I got up early and worked out again.
That makes two days in a row!!

I always feel so good when I get it done.
I had to really baby my ankle again but I did manage to get some jogging in.

I headed off to work early and I got right to work.
I drank my morning coffee super fast so I treated myself to a second cup of caffeine only the second round was a cup of tea.
I don't do that very often.

I am still playing catch up with emails - boy do they ever build up after two weeks.

I stopped on the way home to pick up a card for another co-worker who is transferring.
He is our measurement guy and I am going to miss him.
He really knows his stuff and he taught me so much and always with so much patience.
His new area is lucky to be getting him!

Lunch was leftovers again.
I love leftovers because they are ready to go when I get home.
It helps to avoid grazing on the days that I get home and I feel like I'm starving.

When I arrived back to the office I had a parcel on my desk!
I love getting parcels.
It is the little mat I ordered for the babies room.

I ended up working late because I really wanted to get everything caught up so I could start fresh tomorrow.
It felt good to get the big stack of paperwork on my desk taken care of.

I had a massage booked for 7:30 but she cancelled because she wasn't feeling well.
I was a bit bummed because I was really looking forward to it.
Hopefully she'll be feeling better soon.
It's a hard job to to let alone when you aren't feeling well I am sure.

I drove around by my son's house on the way home to drop off the little mat but he wasn't at home.

I cooked up some baby potatoes and green beans for supper tonight.
My Honey is usually late on his last day of shift but I was hungry so I didn't wait.
He ended up not being as late as normal so I felt kind of bad but he was ok.

My sister was texting from London - she is still there for another 10 days.
She was worried that something might be going on with her boyfriend back home and I just wished I could fly back over there to be with her.
We texted for a couple hours then she had to head out to work her guard duty after getting absolutely no sleep.
I felt so bad for her.
I wanted to call him up and give him a piece of my mind but of course I didn't.
He hadn't really done anything anyway, it was more of a feeling she was having, so that wouldn't have been good.

I was feeling pretty tired and wanted to go to bed at 8 pm but I made it until 9.

Fur on the "fur"niture is something that honestly drives me crazy but I love my fur babies so much that I just deal with it.

Hit the step goal again!

That is all for today, until next time, be happy.

Post Vacation Weigh In (July 9, 2018)

I woke up this morning before my alarm went off at 5 am and I was feeling good.
I momentarily thought about skipping a work out but just momentarily.

Instead I got ready and headed down to the treadmill.
Of course when I was putting my sneakers on, Paddington showed up and demanded kitty cuddles so I gave in and cuddled him for a few minutes before getting to work.

I didn't have a time goal and I wasn't planning on going all out, I just wanted to get a work out under my belt.
I walked and I worked in a couple of jogs but at a slow pace.
My ankle bothered me a little, mainly my right one, so I was very aware of that and careful to tread lightly.
I don't want to make it worse and get an injury right out of the gates so I really babied it.

It felt great to have a work out under my belt when I was done though.
Baby steps.
The time total flashes on and off when you have it paused and I somehow managed to get the picture at the exact time that it was flashed off.
I think it was right around 50 minutes though.

Even if I am taking little steps, they will get me to my goal much faster then if I am taking no steps at all!

Then it was off to work for this chick.

Every time I head to the door, this guy is right on my heels.
He loves to lay right here.
He also tries to escape every chance he gets but he only goes to the bottom of the steps so it isn't very hard to catch him.
I have to maneuver around him to get out the door without letting him get out as well.

First thing I did was weigh in.
270.6 lbs.
This kind of scares me, I am getting dangerously close to 300 lbs.

It was  nice to get back and see everyone and catch up!

It was super busy.
I had a couple of weeks worth of emails to get through and a few piles of paperwork on my desk.

I was back to having my eggs for breakfast. I accidentally picked up the wrong kind but they were still good.

Lunch was chicken and quinoa salad.

I noticed I had an email from WestJet and apparently they gave us each $125 West Jet dollars because of our flight delay on the way to London.
How awesome of them.
I was having a bit of trouble getting them transferred to mom's westjet member rewards account so I called them and they said they figured we'd get another $125 because of the delay on the way home as well.
No wonder I love WestJet so much.
They didn't have to do that - we didn't complain or anything but they just stepped up and did it anyway.

I had picked up a large bag of cherries on the weekend and I was snacking on them at my desk all afternoon.

At the end of the day I realized that I'd eaten the whole bag!

Today was mom's birthday, she turned 65!
I called her in PEI to wish her a Happy Birthday, she said she'd forgotten it was even her birthday.
I also told her about the WestJet compensation, it's perfect because we still have to book her flight home from PEI.

I ended up getting through the emails in my inbox right as the day ended.
I still have another inbox for our training that I need to get through but I'll work on that tomorrow.

My plan was to get a cross fit workout in tonight so I found one online and printed it off.
When I got home, I wasn't really in the mood so I ended up skipping it.

Supper was leftover quinoa salad again, corn on the cob and steak.
It hit the spot but I was still feeling munchie so I had a pudding.

When My Honey got home I was still wanting something else so I cooked up a chocolate chip Kodiak cake.
I ended up burning it but ate it anyway.

I got to bed at a decent hour again because 5 am comes quickly.

Hit the step goal for today - yay!

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Netflix Kind of Day! (July 8, 2018)

I woke up when My Honey left for work again this morning and I just got up and made a coffee.

I like having that time in the morning to myself.

I found a new show on Netflix that I really enjoyed.
Big Dreams, Small Spaces.

The show is about this gardening guru, Monty Dan, who goes to people's homes and gives them a hand designing then creating their dream gardens.
It is set in England and each episode features two gardens.
The Monty fellow seems to be quite the famous gardener over there.

There are only six episodes and I ended up watching all six through out the day.
There was everything from Japanese gardens to English country gardens, tiny space gardens and sensory gardens.
It was a great show and really got me wanting to get working on a garden design of my own.

Unfortunately we don't have the best gardening environment here, the growing season is short and frost can come literally any time of the year.

It's something to think about for future though.

These guys had a pretty chill morning too!

I picked up this little shelf for 3 bucks and I wanted to paint it white for the baby's room so I got to work on that today.

It took a few coats but I think it's looking good.

I want to add some purple or yellow to it but I packed my paint away in the back of the closet in my office and I really don't feel like hauling everything out to get to it.
I think I'll wait until we go to the city this weekend and pick up a bottle.

Then I'll get it finished up - I might add some flowers or something, we'll see.

These guys were still hanging out together - I think I disturbed them when I took their picture this time though!

I cooked up a couple packages of chicken for lunches and suppers for next week.
I also cooked up some quinoa and made a quinoa salad.
It was quite tasty and I was happy with it.

I cooked up corn on the cob and when My Honey got home he cooked up some minute steaks for us to have for supper.
It was delicious!

We watched some tv together before getting to bed at a decent hour.
I want to get up early in the morning and work out.

OUCH!
Not a very great day for stepping today.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
