From Minneapolis to Calgary (Oct.15, 2024)

We don't fly out until 2 pm this afternoon so we had some time to go out for breakfast this morning.

We found a spot that was near our hotel that had good ratings.

Wise Acre Eatery.

It seemed to be a cute little spot.

Look at the gorgeous trees in the parking lot.

It was the type of place where you order at the counter then they bring it to you at the table.

It has a small dining area inside then it had another outdoor area that was covered and had heaters in it.

I like how they decorated the top of the wall here.

They had cornbread so of course I ordered that and it was very good.

Then I had their cauliflower scramble with a thick slice of bacon on the side.

Jason had their French Toast bread pudding, it had coffee caramel, pecan granola, whipped cream, maple syrup, powdered sugar.
It was so good - I should have ordered that.

After breakfast, we walked around the little garden center next door.

Look at all those pumpkins.

Nice piggy statues.

They had some gorgeous potted plants.

They had all of these birch sticks there for sale.

These little floating koi fish were clay - I thought of buying one but didn't.
Wish I did now though.

They had so many nice displays.

Lots of fountains and garden decor.

Such a nice building.

I wish I could fit one of these in my suitcase.

I loved, loved, loved this horse.
If I lived closer, I would so have this in my yard right now.

They had this building frame and I really liked how it looked.

I took lots of pictures so Jason and I could possibly replicate it, maybe on a smaller scale for our house.

This is the front.

I'd like to try building it the old fashioned way like they used to.

Such a gorgeous building.

We had a little time so we went for a last walk to just take in the last views of the fall trees.

We crossed this bridge that had these brick posts on either side.

The sky was looking so blue.

Last blooming flowers we'll see out in nature for a while now.

Some last views of orange and red trees - and the sky was such a pretty blue.

We crossed back over the bridge on the other side and we could see a path down below.
I wish we'd had more time to go for a walk on it.
Next time.

I wonder if this was the same river we walked next to last night?

The branches on this tree were quirky in a wonderful way.

You can see one orange tree tucked in between all the green ones.

Those houses behind there look really nice.

One last tree in all it's autumn splendor.
Gorgeous!

We headed over to the airport after our walk, dropped the car off then through security and on to our gate to wait for our flight.
We flew out at 2 pm and we left right on time.

We had another great flight, got in right on time at 4 pm.
We picked up our car then met Adrien at the Tim Horton's in Nisku.

He came to meet us so he could drive Jason home and I headed to Calgary - I have to work there for the rest of the week.

I listened to an audio book the whole way there.

It's a good book, I'm really enjoying it.

I made it to Calgary around 7:30 and went straight to my hotel room.

I'm staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott and it was a really nice room.

It had a kitchenette.

Kind of a living room and dining room.

A little hallway area.

It walked through a galley type bathroom into the bedroom.

I discovered that Jason accidentally took my suitcase home with him so I had no toothpaste, toothbrush, socks, underwear etc..
I did pack a few pair of pants and long sleeve tops in a different bag that I'd left in the car when we went to Minnesota so luckily I had that with me.
I got a toothbrush and toothpaste from the front desk then tomorrow night I'll go shopping and get a few of the other essentials that I need.
I was too tired to do that tonight.

Alivia posted a few pictures - Hunter and his big smile.

Alivia made a new friend - she seems to be having a good time.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
