Dinner with Co-Workers and Missing My Girl (Oct.16, 2024)

I'm in Calgary this week for training for a new program that we are getting at work.

I was worried that I would be way behind because I missed a few days of training last week and yesterday since we were away on vacation but I caught up pretty quickly and so I was feeling much better about it all today.

 

After work I went out to work with a few of my colleagues, Mark, Jason, Pam and Colleen.

It's nice to get together with folks that you work with all the time but don't get the chance to see in person often.

I had a chicken bowl.

It had spiraled beets and green beans, rice, avocado.

I liked it.

After supper, I went to Walmart and picked up the essentials that I needed and also made a stop at Winners to get myself some jammies.

Back at the hotel, I spent the rest of the evening working on my blog - I've been so far behind and trying to catch up - I'm getting there.

Jason gave me a call, he had Freya over at the house with him,

They called me on messenger so we could see each other and Freya had big tears in her eyes and told me she missed me so much and wanted to know when I would be home.

I said two more days and she asked 'is that a long time'.

It just broke my heart - I don't know that I've ever been away from her for this long before.

I told her I'd come get her as soon as I got home and she could stay over the whole weekend with me.

Jason sent me a few pictures from their evening.

She looks so sweet with that darling hat on.

Not so darling anymore!

She still loves all the creepy stuff.

Jason gave her the outfit I picked up for her while we were in Minnesota and she wanted to put it on right away.

My brother posted this picture of our father today.

He must be missing him.

I miss him too.

My gentle soul dad, he sure loved his animals.
