One Out of Five Ain't Bad! (Dec.17, 2017)

I had a full day to myself and had all kinds of plans for it.

This is what I had on my agenda to get accomplished today:
laundry
wrap gifts
blog catch up
work out
make cookies

What I actually did:
wrap gifts

I guess one out of five is not bad?

I did make myself a nice egg sandwich for breakfast with lots of onions and had some left over steak to go with it.

Then I spent the entire day sitting on the couch wrapping gifts and watching Christmas movies.
My son & his girl dropped by later in the day to get some gift wrapping supplies and that was the only human contact I made today.
He mentioned that my brother was going to SIL's parents for Christmas which I didn't know.
So I quickly planned a get together for us all before they leave.
So, pretty much me and the kitties today.

Professor Snuggles decided my messy hair bun was a creature that needed to be attacked.

Paddington was his usual cuddly self but he was very interested in what PS was up to.

More leftovers for supper.

Also had some snacks while movie watching.

Professor Snuggles was pretty exhausted after the day we had, ha ha!

Got all my wrapping done though so I feel great about that.
Now I have a whole week to just enjoy the season and that doesn't happen very often.

Some awesome Facebook memories popped up today.

Christmas 2014
OMG - look how little they all were, and this was only 3 short years ago.

My sister and the boys flew out to be with us for Christmas that year and I love it when we can all be together at Christmas time.
Family is the best thing about Christmas.

Mr D is such a cutie patootie!

and Mr E is quite the little cutie too.
I sure do love these little nephews of mine.

We pulled into a gas station and this cracked me up because the dog is sitting in the drivers seat and it kind of looks like he is the driver of the car.

My mantle kind of looks similar each year  - full of stuff but it makes me happy.

Had a nice full tree that year.

Mr H wanted to put on My Honey's work boots.
They are almost as big as he is.

Christmas 2015
What a great shot.

I took this picture on a white snowy day and I was so proud of it.
I loved how everything looked so white and then there was this black crow sitting in the top branches of the tree.

Then the very same day, My Honey came home with this picture.
It wasn't a contest but if it had been, he clearly would have been the winner.

A
According to my Fitbit stats, today was a true rest day.

It ended up being a rest weekend but I am ok with that.
Back to the grind tomorrow though.

It was a nice, quiet, relaxing day and I enjoyed it.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Solo Shopping Trip (Dec.16, 2017)

I was heading to the city today for a day of shopping so decided it would be my rest day today.
I wanted to be on the road by 7 am but was actually 8:30 when I left.
I love early morning drives like this, they are so peaceful, I love watching the world wake up.

I could see these two shapes off in the distance running across the field as I was approaching.

I figured it was a big animal and I was right, a mama moose and her little one.

I was lucky enough to reach them just as they were crossing the road.

They crossed quickly...

then high tailed it off into the woods.

I drove ahead a bit and there was a big clearing and there they were.
I pulled over and took some photos
and they just stood there and allowed me to.

Such a beautiful animal.

Eventually they grew tired of the photo shoot and they were on their way but it sure made my day to be able to see them.

I hit Costco first thing - I was looking for a vacuum for my son.
This was an idea but I ended up getting a differant one.

I stopped at a few more places before making it to Home Depot.

I was checking out dishwashers there but ultimately decided I wanted My Honey to be with me to make the decision.

It will likely be one of these two though - I did a bit of research on Consumer Reports and looks like Bosch gets the highest grade for dishwashers.

I did leave empty handed though......almost

There is a Subway in the Home Depot and I passed it when I was leaving.
It smelled so good that I needed to have a sub right then.
I got a 6 inch ham & turkey with all the fixings for lunch and I savored every bite.
I'd forgotton how good a Subway sub can be.

I contined to look around at some stores and shop.
I was feeling pretty good - like I had everything I needed.

I contemplated heading home but figured I was here, why not stop at West Edmonton Mall and have a look around?

It was well after supper so the first thing I did was find a place to eat.

I really wanted a Virgin Caesar so I went to Bourbon St.
All the restaurants were very busy so I picked this new chicken place.
I really just wanted the drink and to sit down at a table and go over my lists to see what I might have missed or what I still needed to pick up.

I had their pulled chicken sandwich with smashed roasted potatoes and corn muffins.
It was pretty good - I did eat all of the chicken sandwich but couldn't finish the rest.

I made a few more stops after that - found my brother a bread box, you know they aren't that easy to find anymore for some reason.

The girl at that store (Stokes) asked me if I was done with the mall for today.
Ha ha, I must have looked worn down.
I was feeling done with shopping though.

I considered getting a hotel room and staying the night but decided I'd rather get home and sleep in my own bed.

The roads were nice and clear and the weather was good so the drive home was good.
I wasn't looking forward to hauling all my goodies into the house when I got home but I did it.

I got home around 11:30 and got everything brought in.

I even did a little more wrapping before calling it a night.

The Christmas decorations were on sale at a lot of the stores today so I picked up a few things.
This garland - I love it but I'm not sure where I am going to put it yet.

This lovely little couple.
I've named them Noel & Joy.
I have a couple other reindeer just like her and I think they are adorable.

I called it a night around 1 am and headed to bed.

Fitbit totals for today.

That's a wrap.
Until next time, he happy!

Just Me and the Kitties (Dec.15, 2017)

This morning I had a little easier time getting into my workout.
I did spend too much time cuddling Paddington beforehand though so I had to cut my workout a little short in order to make it to work on time.

53 minutes done this morning.

I pushed myself to try to at least get to 3.2 miles though (5 km) and I accomplished that so I dont' feel too bad about having a bit shorter of a work out.

My Honey is off to his parents for a visit today so I said my good byes to him before I headed to work.
I would have loved to go with him but he has more days off than I do, plus I need to make a trip to the city this weekend to finish up my Christmas shopping.
It will be strange having the house entirely to myself for a few days with My Honey and my mom both gone.

Somebody made a bit of a mess this morning.
Paddington was looking at it like he was just as surprised as I was to find it there.
Truth be told, Professor Snuggles is likely the culprit as he has done the exact same thing in the past.

My healthy breakfast this morning.
A cup of tea (Twinnings Earl Grey), water (in the new water bottle I got at our admin gift exchange), yogurt and a giant cookie.
That about covers all the food groups doesn't it?

Our dishwasher just stopped working suddenly and I'm heading in to the city for some shopping this weekend so My Honey said he would leave the dimensions of it on the counter for me.
This is what I got home too.
Ha ha - he is a true artist.

Ms BH and I met Ms NT at Brewzers today for lunch, it's been awhile since I've been there.
I had soup and a biscuit and it was really good.

I made sloppy joe's for supper to use up the rest of the pizza finger mix.
They were pretty darn good too.
Funny how when you eat so much junk for awhile, soon enough the only thing you want is some "real" food.

I emptied out this bag and set it on the floor and Professor Snuggles jumped right in.
Looks like he missed playing "cat-bag", a game My Honey invented where PS gets in the bag and MH swings it back and forth.

He very happily stayed in the bag for quite some time too.

I gathered up some gear and got to work wrapping presents.

I was putting them in baskets as I wrapped and Paddington was trying to help?
Or maybe he felt like he was a gift too (which he most certainly is).

It's hard to wrap when somebody wants to cuddle.

He came and plunked himself right in my lap.

I needed a break anyway!

Fitbit stats for today!

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
