The Pirates of the River Saskatchewan (Feb.6, 2026)

We had another gorgeous spring like day today.

The snow is melting rapidly which doesn't hurt my feelings not one bit.

It's uncovering all of the berries from our tree that must have fallen off in a windstorm or something.
Because it was so nice out, I skipped running on the treadmill on my lunch hour and instead Jason and I went for a walk.
Today was his Friday off so he was home.

I left work a bit early and Mom and I headed to the city.
I bought her tickets to the dinner theater tonight for Christmas and we were meeting Jen and Rob there.

I did stop on the way in and get the oil changed on my car - it was way overdue so it felt good to get that done.

Rob and Jen met us at the mall.

The show we were seeing was the Pirates of the River Saskatchewan.

We had really good seats, right in the front in the middle.

Rob thought we were just lucky but we picked the seats ourselves when we bought the tickets.
You can see Captain Jack Sparrow in the background there.

The show was fun - the singers were great, the acting was great.
The food on the other hand was so so.
I ordered the trout and I didn't like it at all.
Mom had the sliced beef and she couldn't finish so she gave it to me and that was good.

At one point during the performance one of the actors walked by our table, picked up my phone and took a selfie.
I always have trouble finding the camera app on my phone but he found it lickety split - I was impressed.
Afterwards, my sister showed me how you can swipe on your home page and get the camera immediately.
I had no idea - so many times I've seen something that I wanted to snap a picture of quickly and I fumble around on my phone so much trying to find the camera that I often miss whatever it was I wanted to get a picture of.
So I'm pretty excited to have learned that!

Back home, Jason had both girls because Kody and Haylee were working.
He took them to the library to play.
Freya really likes it there - it was Eden's first time there and he said she really liked it too.

He cooked them up ribs for supper - they look delicious.

Then he made candied orange peels with the girls - he said Zepplyn ended up coming over and they all had a good night.

Looks like they turned out pretty good.

He cleaned out the corner cupboard and found all of these.
He sent it to me and said that he thinks we are pretty good on pizza goldfish for a while.
I think he is right.

He consolidated them all into one container.

Got all my steps in.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
