The gym in our hotel is being renovated so they are giving guests passes to the YMCA if they want to use it.
Jason went down and got one this morning and the hotel clerk walked him right over to it.
He sent me some pictures of it, he said it was a really nice gym.
My right shoulder is bothering me, I think it's from maybe over extending it when I'm, trying to do things, like pulling up my pants on my left side where I can barely reach.
So I took some Tylenol and stayed in bed resting a bit longer.
When Jason got back, we packed up, checked out and hit the road.
We are heading to Milwaukee but are going to spend the night in Wisconsin Dells tonight.
We stopped at the town of Hudson, Wisconsin about 45 min into the drive for coffee and something to eat.
We went to Cariboo Coffee for drinks and one of the baristas there recommended Milwaukee Burger so we went there.
The waiter said they were famous for their golf size cheese curds so we ordered the cheese curd platter.
We wanted to try the cheese curds while we were here anyway.
They were good, the smaller ones were my favorite.
They had battered, deep fried brats which we've never seen before so we decided to try those too.
They were just ok.
I think I've had my fill of deep fried food for this trip.
They brought us cheddar beer soup accidentally so we got to try that.
Jason liked it but tasted too much like beer for me.
We also shared a burger, the Truffle Wagyu Royal.
The burger was very good.
Then we hit the road again.
Jason has been doing all the driving this trip because of my arm and I'm quite enjoying being a passenger princess.
I feel a bit bad because I'm terrible road trip company, I can't keep my eyes open and keep falling asleep.
I thought maybe a coffee would help so we stopped at The Nickel Barn for a coffee.
It was a neat place. It had these antique trucks out front.
Kind of cool.
This steer made out of junk was really cool.
Rolling into Wisconsin Dells reminded me of driving through Pigeon Forge with all these amazing road side attractions like this Trojan Horse.
There were water parks.
Colorful buildings.
This water slide came right out of the side of a building and it rotated.
All these different themed places.
A rope course.
Candy stores.
Go karts and rides.
Noah's Ark water park.
Some kind of strange Martian building or something.
There's that Trojan Horse again - I love it!
An upside down building with giant Transformers out front.
We found our hotel -
We booked a room with a river view and a balcony.
We checked in, checked out our view, then decided to go for a walk.
There were more interesting things to see.
Every so often, one of the sidewalk squares would have this one it - dells - I likey!
There was art displayed in a lot of the shop windows, I think made by local students.
They were really great.
These were some of our favorites.
The polar bear with the colorful hat and sweater.
A cat on a tree branch in the moonlight.
Goody Goody Gum Drops candy store - what a fantastic name.
I would have liked to check this out but it wasn't open.
More kid art we liked.
We would love to bring the girls here and spend a few days.
In a shop window - a unicorn riding a narwhal.
Cute fairy - it was hard to get a picture without the glare.
Mannequin covered with paper mache.
We saw a few fudge places - they weren't open.
I don't like fudge anyway so no big whoop.
We found a river walk.
I bet this would ne nice on a sunny day.
We watched some You Tubers before we came that recommended this pizza place and it looked good in the video so here we are.
We tried the Chicken Enchilada Soup - it was very tasty.
We also tried their pretzels which are another popular thing here in Wisconsin.
They were warm and soft and delicious.
They were served with a mustard sauce and a cheese/beer sauce - I didn't like either and just preferred the pretzel on it's own.
We got a pepperoni pizza.
The pepperoni was good but we didn't like the sauce - I think there was too much sauce and cheese so the pizza was floppy and hard to pick up and eat.
I would eat here again but I would skip the pizza.
We went for a drive around town, found a Hobby Lobby but it was closed - we'll check it out tomorrow.
There was also a Ross Dress for Less - I got a couple dresses and some cute pants for Eden.
Headed back to the room after that and called it a night!
Got all my steps in!
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
