Dumpling Disaster (Apr.28, 2026)

it was another day full of testing.

I was the first one to the training session this morning (I was also the last one to leave at the end of the day)

I got to meet Marilyn today, she is one of the payroll admins here in Calgary that helps me out often when I have questions so that was nice.

on my lunch hour

i went to Chatters and got an appointment to get my hair washed and then he also blow dried it for me as well.

He brushed it and it was all frizzy

I kept thinking he was going to get the straightener out and fix it then he just kind of parted it and pushed it to the front and asked if I liked it.

He was so proud of his work and i was kind of dumbfounded.

It had taken forever to do and I hated it but and it cost me 60 bucks!

I'll have to try to get it into a ponytail or something.

I really felt like having some dumplings so I looked up a place after work.

It was about a 23 min walk so I figured I'd walk there, sit and eat then walk back and I'd get both my super and a walk in.

I headed out thinking I knew exactly where i was going.

It was a really nice evening.

Mom called and I had a chat with her.

Then when I should have been getting close to the restaurant, it seemed like more of a residential area with no businesses around so I looked up the directions and I was now 30 minutes away.

I went totally the wrong way.

I was kind of annoyed but it was such a nice evening that I got over that pretty quickly, I was thankful to be out enjoying the evening.

Neat mural I saw along the way.

I finally managed to find the place, Deng's Dumplings.
I got an order of 12 - there were 3 each of beef, pork, chicken and vegetarian.

Then I also got a couple meatball things too.
i kind of had a bad feeling when i walked into the place and i should have went with my gut because it was very disappointing - Places like this sometimes surprise you and you discover a hidden gem but not this time,
I didn't like any of it.
It kind of turned me off of dumplings for a bit I'm sad to say.

So to compensate, I went to this ice cream shop I passed, Made by Marcus.
We've been to the one in Edmonton before.

They make their own ice cream and they have interesting flavors.
i got a half scoop of Ube Marshmallow Passionfruit and a half scoop of Apricot and Saffron Cream.

I saw a few more neat murals on the way back to the hotel but couldn't take any pictures because I had the ice cream and couldn't put it down anywhere.

Just spent the rest of the evening chilling in the room watching tv.

Called Jason, he had a visitor.

She was very occupied but did say Hi to me at least.

Got all my steps in!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
