Ladies Bonspiel (Jan.16, 2026)

I had a terrible night last night, I barely slept at all and when my alarm clock went off this morning, my head was just pounding.

I knew there was no way I could go to work like that so I called in sick.

That is a very rare thing for me to do but I really needed some good sleep.

Jason got me some pills which I took - I didn't even get out of bed, I just took them.

He and Freya had gotten up so I had the whole bed to myself.

I went straight to sleep and slept nearly until noon.

I really needed it.

When I got up, I was feeling much better but decided to just rest for the afternoon instead of going to work.

The ladies bonspiel is this weekend, we curl at 6:30 tonight and I really didn't want to let my team down so wanted to make sure I was rested up enough to go.

Freya decided she didn't want to go to the city, she wanted to stay and watch me curl.

So they took me to the rink and dropped me off.

The theme for the bonspiel this year was Cowgirls.

They did a really great job decorating the place.

They always do.

Jason and Freya had gone sledding for a bit then they came back to watch the end of my game.

Our game started out ok but by the 5th end things had gone really sideways and we were down by a lot so we decided to give up and throw the rocks back.

Friday night is usually a big party night but I wasn't feeling the best so I just headed back home with Jason and Freya.

We had a quiet evening which was just fine with me.

I did manage to get all my steps in again today.

I did have to get on the treadmill for a short time but I didn't have my phone with me to take a picture of the time.
