The Tucson Loop (Feb.2, 2025)

As has been our routine on this vacation, we were up early and headed over to the same trail as yesterday to go for a walk/run.

I decided to go the opposite way today.

There wasn't a whole lot to see, just a lot of this, but it was still nice.

I am not sure what you would call this structure or what its purpose was (maybe just decor) but I liked all the little guys - kind of reminded me of those paper dolls you could cut out that would all be holding hands but an Aztec version.

Spotted this parked at the trailhead.

After our walk (well walk for me, run for Jason), we took advantage of the sweet hot tub.

I found these Stitch sliders last night when we did a bit of shopping and I loooove them.
They are so cute.

The weather has been so nice while we've been here - I've just been soaking it up and enjoying every moment.

I wish we could take these temperatures home with us.

We decided to rent some bikes for the afternoon so we found a rental spot.

This little fellow was the shop mascot I guess.
He looks just like Professor Snuggles.
He gave us directions on how to get to the trails and off we went.
They have the Tucson Loop here which is miles and miles of paved trails.
I read that when it's complete, it will be 131 miles - isn't that awesome!
Voted best biking trail in the US.

We biked along the trails for about an hour - it was super nice,
We were ready for a break though and happened upon this area that looked like it might have a washroom and maybe a spot to get a drink so we checked it out.
There looked like there was a market going on.

We checked out the market first, one booth had baked goods so we got a cookie and a slice of pecan pie that we shared that was delicious.

I like those lanterns hanging from the trees - bet it looks really nice in the evening.

There was a little cafe so we figured we'd grab some lunch.

Soaking up the sun.

We ordered avocado toast.

Then this was like bagels and lox but on bread instead of a bagel.
Both were very good.
After our little break, it was back on the bikes and we headed back.

There were some neat sculptures along the way.

I wanted to get some pictures of what the adobe style houses look like here to show Freya when we got home.

My Honey.

I look pretty smiley here and that's partially because I was having a bit of a break from being on the bike.

I have to say that it was the most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden.
The way the seat and handlebars were situated was odd so I was kind of bent over the whole time and leaning on my hands so hard that they were hurting by this point.

We were late getting to the rental place to rent the bikes in the first place and they closed at 4 pm so we didn't have long with them and I was bummed about that at first but after a couple hours of biking, I was quite happy to take it back, we even got there early.

It was still a fun afternoon but I don't think I'd ever want to ride that particular bike for an afternoon again.

We liked our burger so much at Divine Bovine that we decided to go back and have another today.

We shared some parmesan truffle fries (very good).

We each got our own burgers today.
Jason got one with blue cheese (it's in the background).

I got one just loaded with onions and it was so yummy.

Gigantic too, it was as big as my hand.

We spent the rest of the day just doing some shopping then we were back to the room early to just chill and relax.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
