This is our last morning in Phoenix as we will be heading to Tucson so we got up early and headed over for one last walk/run on our trails that we've been enjoying.
She sun was shining already - think it's going to be a nice day.
I have been enjoying these morning walks so much.
Just some views from the trails.
Cactus in the wild.
They are all dirt trails here but perfect for running and walking.
I walked to the top of a hill again hoping I'd see Jason go by - I didn't.
Just some of the different views on the trail
It's not lush and green but it does have it's own kind of charm.
Tons of people use these trails so you don't feel isolated but there aren't so many that it feels crowded or anything.
The doors in our hotel room lead out to this patio area and the pool and hot tub were just to the right a bit.
We used it every single day and we were always the only ones there.
It was great.
We checked out then walked to this restaurant next door to have some breakfast before hitting the road.
Bisbee Breakfast Club.
I really liked the big mural they had on the wall.
I ordered the baked oatmeal and it wasn't what I was expecting at all.
It was more like a cake but not sweet at all - it wasn't very good.
Jason had tomales rancheros - he said it was good.
This was the hotel we'd stayed in.
I liked it, I'd stay there again.
I can't believe there are flowers blooming already here and it's only January.
We headed for Tucson and that was just under a 2 hour drive.
We were hungry so the first stop was for some food.
I was craving a burger so Jason found us a spot with great reviews, Divine Bovine.
It was very big inside.
It had a definite bovine theme which I really liked.
I especially liked this cute cow picture.
They had street corn so we ordered that.
Then we ordered a burger to share.
It was a spectacular burger, cooked medium just the way we like it.
It was juicy and tasty and seasoned just perfectly.
I think we'll be back before we leave.
I think we'll be back before we leave.
We noticed this bakery right next door called Back Dough that we checked out when we finished eating.
Their specialty seemed to be mini pies.
Mini pie selection - Back Dough
We ordered a couple to go.
We got the Strawberry Lime.
And the Key Lime - so so good.
We went and found the hotel we were staying in after that.
It was inside this kind of retirement trailer park place.
It was too early for us to check in and get our rooms so we spent a few hours doing some exploring and shopping.
We found a highly rated ramen spot for supper.
Raijen Ramen.
There was a line up and a 30 minute wait to get a table.
It was jam packed in there and the line up just kept growing so we were thinking 'man, this place is going to be good'
The menu.
We tired this rice dish with seaweed and cod roe, Mentaiko Don - I wasn't a fan.
They had a TanTan Ramen so that's what I had.
Jason had the Tonkotsu.
I hate to say it but it was very disappointing, not flavorful at all.
Nowhere near as good as the ramen we have in Edmonton at Hu's Noodle Nook or Kazoku.
If all these people love this place so much, their heads would explode if they tried the stuff in Edmonton.
We headed back to our hotel to check in after that.
It was just before 8 and reception closes there at 8 so we made it just in time.
It was too dark to take any pictures and we were tuckered so we just spent the rest of the evening hanging out in our room watching Dateline.
Whitney turned 8 months old the other day so Morgan posted some pictures.
She's so smiley and happy!
These memories popped up from when Freya was just an itty bitty baby.
Awww, my heart - she was so cute (still is).
Playing with her Fisher Price phone.
Smiles.
She had so much dark hair.
Yup - this happens to me far too often.
This would be a dream backyard space for me.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
