One Of Those Days Where You Are Glad When It's Over. (Oct.26, 2018)

Well, I tried my hardest to get back down to where I was before I left on vacation.

I didn't quite make it, but I did get pretty close so I was proud of myself.
Work was very frustrating today.

I spent the day basically arguing over one of our fellows timesheets with a group from Calgary.

He is on STD and they've denied his claim so his foreman and our area manager said they were going to pay him until a certain date while he resubmits.
The Medical Leave group had a different take on that and are refusing to pay.

There were emails flying back and forth all day but in the end, it came down to that they are not going to pay him.
I was frustrated that I couldn't do more and frankly ashamed that as a company we are causing him even more stress than what he is dealing with already in his personal life.

When I got home, I felt defeated and tired.
I played a few games of Solitaire and that helped to get my mind off it somewhat.

I didn't feel like doing much else all evening.
I watched some of The Block.
Still trying to get caught up on that.

I made Kodiak pancakes, eggs and bacon for supper and I also ran down to the store to pick up a lottery ticket.

Lots of others were doing the same thing - the lottery is at the highest it can be (60 million) and you can't win without buying a ticket!

I gave my brother all the hand me downs my sister had sent for Mr H and looks like they are loving the character blankets.
Mr H chose the Bee one.

He was buzzing around the house like crazy.

Miss A took the froggy one - I think she likes it.

Baby F dressed up in her first Halloween costume.

This is her great grandma with her here.

Looks like she just woke up and she isn't sure what is going on.

People are just so creative - love it.

Oh, and here is my teeny tiny white pumpkin I picked up in Barrhead on the way home the other day.
I was happy that I was able to find one here - I wasn't expecting that I would be able to.

When My Honey got home, we chatted for a bit but then I headed off to bed quite early.
I was sort of done with this day.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Hanging With The Kiddos (Oct.25, 2018)

We have been having some really nice weather here the past few days which is awesome.
Not summer weather but real fall weather, crisp air and bright sun - I am loving it.

I weighed in and I was down almost 2 pounds since yesterday so I was pleased with that.
Work was more catch up this morning.
You wouldn't think so much would build up after being gone only 5 days but it sure does.

Lots of other little things have been popping up today that have taken some time to resolve so I feel like I'm not getting as far along in catching up as I'd like.

Coffee Break!

I sent this picture to My Honey to prove that BN wasn't working a lick.

We went out for lunch today to celebrate BH's birthday.
It was actually on Oct.22 but I wasn't here so they kindly waited until I got back to go out for lunch.

As soon as she chose Sammy's I was excited because they make the best Greek salad.
That is exactly what I had too with a chicken breast up on top.
I completely cleaned my plate.

We took the obligatory pictures for my blog - they are totally used to it by now.
The picture on my phone of SV & I kept coming out really dark because the sun was behind  us so

SG took one with hers and sent it to me.
They even help out with pictures now, ha ha!

Work this afternoon was more of the same.
NCT dropped by at the end of the day to bring her Silhoutte Cutter to me.
She wants me to see if I can figure out how to use it.
It is similar to my Cricut only this one you can connect to the internet and find all kinds of fonts and things to use.
I am excited about giving it a try.

When it was time to head home, I was tired.
I have been getting plenty of sleep but I feel like I'm just not getting enough for some reason.

I planned on watching some of The Block that I have pvr'd - I have a lot of catch up to do.
Then I was going to have a bath.

My brother ended up calling though and asked if I could watch the kids while they went to a movie and of course I was happy to do it.
I hadn't seen them since before I went away and I always love spending time with them.

They both came over and they were pretty excited.
They got into the magic toolbox right away and found a few things.

Mr H picked a puzzle and I am still amazed at his puzzle skills.
They hadn't eaten so I put some chicken strips on to cook and ran to the store for some bread to make grilled cheese sandwiches.

It went over well, they both ate all of their supper.

That was pretty good considering this guy doesn't seem to like food unless it's candy.

Mom came up and joined us as well.

I had a salad kit myself, I really want to get back to my pre-vacation weight by tomorrow's weigh in so I am doing all that I can.

I also had this for dessert.

As soon as My Honey got home they wanted him to play with them.
So he got down on the floor to draw on the chalkboard with them.

Mr H had something very particular in mind that he wanted to draw.

He was very intent on getting it drawn too.

Miss A is always happy to be creative in anyway so she was right at it too.

Then we all got cozy on the couch and found a movie to watch.

I picked Bolt.

I was the only one that had seen it before and it made me cry the first time I watched it.
I always thought it was a really good movie and they all enjoyed it so I guess I was right.

Shortly after the movie, my brother came to pick up the kiddos.
I also had three large bags of hand me downs we'd brought back from my sister for Mr H so I gave those to him as well.

We didn't waste anytime getting to bed after they left.
My Honey was tired too and he works long days!
I am sooooo looking forward to the weekend.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Farewell RA! (Oct.24, 2018)

Even though I went to bed so early and managed to fall asleep right away too, I was still tired when I got up for work this morning.
I felt a little better after I showered but I easily could have stayed in bed for a few more hours.
It is so dark when I go to work now, yuck!

I caught up with SG when I got to work then tried to get caught up on emails and the stuff on my desk.
I weighed in first thing to assess the damage..

I was up which I expected.
I was 6.6 lbs up from what I weighed in at the day we left.

So I have a bit to go just to get back where I was but I am determined to get right back at it starting today.

10 am coffee is still going strong, I almost forgot about it, they had to call to remind me but I'm glad they did.

We were having a Farewell lunch for RA today so around 11:30 I headed to the store to pick up our lunch order.

We had crispy chicken, potato salad, buns and a cake.

We also ordered a few dishes from the Chinese food place here in town but those we had delivered.
Lunch was nice.

We weren't expecting many guys from the field to show up but they just kept trickling in.

I was glad they did though, I always feel bad if the attendance for these kind of things is low.
I picked up a salad for myself then I also had a piece of chicken, some shrimp and some ginger beef.

I skipped all the carb stuff, including the cake.

I did help hand it around to everyone else.

We sat around and told stories of the old times like we often do at these events.

It's really nice to get together with the people I work with in that kind of a setting.

JRA & BN

Just busy eating so they can get back to the field.
What's the hurry guys?

I was really pleased with our turnout.
We had people we don't see in the office that much which was great.

We even had a couple people show up that I hadn't even met before.

These guys didn't even eat - just came in to say good bye!

RA left pretty much right after work.
It's so strange to know that this person I see and talk to almost every day will not be around anymore and the chances of me ever seeing him again are really slim.

We become really close to the people we work with, I mean, we spend just as much time with them as we do with our real families so it is sad when folks leave.
He is quite happy though, he could retire but he is going to another job and he is really looking forward to it.
I wish him all the best.

Work this afternoon was just as busy.
I was able to make it through my personal email but I still have a shared inbox that I didn't get to so that will be on the agenda for tomorrow.

My son called to see if they could pop over to visit after work and of course I was thrilled.
I had planned on heading over there so this will be just as good.

I waited a while and they weren't showing up so I gave him a call.
Turns out he got called out to work but he was on his way home at that point so still planned on coming over.

I made a salad kit with chicken on it for supper.
I started getting pictures downloaded from my trip.
Of course I didn't do any blogging while we were away so now I'll need to play catch up.
I can do it!

Did get a picture of the mug my Aunt & Uncle picked up at Graceland for me.

My Uncle A said he had to wait in line a heck of a long time to get it signed by Elvis but it was worth it.
Ha ha!
It really was so thoughtful of them to pick it up for me and I'm so grateful.

My son ended up calling me back to say they weren't coming.
Baby F had shots today and she was fussy.
They finally got her to sleep and didn't want to wake her up.

I was bummed because I really wanted to see her and they are going to Barrhead for a couple of days so I won't be able to see her until Saturday now.

We are heading to the city on Saturday to celebrate BH's birthday so I won't be able to see Baby F then but first thing Sunday morning I will be heading over there.

I brought leftovers home for My Honey so I he would have some supper without me having to cook.
Turns out they ordered them all supper so now he'll have lunch for tomorrow.
I got caught up on some of my shows but by 8:30 I was feeling really sleepy again so I just headed off to bed.

I love the little play on words here.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
