We had planned on taking the girls to the city this weekend.
I had wanted to get Freya some sandals and a sundress for her upcoming trip to Hawaii.
Then I had to be away last weekend so I didn't really want to go to the city this weekend, I just wanted to stay home and get some stuff done.
But Freya insisted that she wanted to go so around lunch time, she and I headed to the city.
Jason stayed home with Eden.
We stopped to gas up and she bought some Hubba Bubba for a treat.
She REALLY wants to blow bubbles so she practiced and practiced.
And it paid off - she did it.
Soon enough, she was like and old pro and blowing huge bubbles.
She was so proud of herself.
We stopped at the dollar store and she picked out this cool journal book.
The cat's glasses lift up.
Like this.
They are magnetized so when you put them back down, they are like this clip that holds the book pages shut.
Pretty cute.
We headed to the mall and first stop was Winners.
They didn't have much for summer clothes but she did pick out a new pair of jeans and a top which she wanted to go change into immediately.
We got some lunch at the food court then headed back to a nail place so she could get a pedicure.
She had to make a pit stop at the whale.
There is a sign by it saying not to climb on it.
But every single kid that goes by climbs all over it and Freya is no exception.
It's hard to resist.
I had wanted to get a manicure too but they were really busy.
Freya enjoying being pampered.
She picked this blue color because it was like the ocean.
The lady put a design on it for her too.
They offered to do my manicure when Freya was done her pedicure but I didn't want to make her wait around for me so we skipped it.
We did a bit more shopping after that.
We ended up finding her sandals, a couple sun dresses, a couple pairs of shorts, a couple tank tops and then I also picked her up some sun screen.
I tried to convince her to drive back home since we did everything we needed to pretty much but she insisted that she wanted to stay at Jen's for the night.
So I went to Firehouse subs and got myself a turkey sub then we headed over to Jen's.
I ordered Freya a thin crust pepperoni pizza from Domino's which is what she wanted so we picked that up on the way and just chilled at Jen's for the evening.
Meanwhile, back home, Jason gave Eden a bath in the sink.
She's clearly a little too big for it but she didn't care.
Then they played birthday party again.
Look how excited she is.
They did it over and over and over.
This was what was left of the candles when they finished playing.
They did it so many times that the candles had melted down to nothing.
She doesn't look too sure about actually eating it.
Jason just stacked some cookies together with some icing - cute little cake idea.
Eden was loving up on Hazel but Jason had to stick close because sometimes she give a little more love than the kitties can cope with.
She loves climbing and hiding in the closet.
'Close the door'
They went for ice cream.
I think she likes it.
Jason made this chicken, broccoli and rice dish for supper.
I think it looks beautiful.
He gave some to Eden for supper.
Eden taste testing.
Snuggling up with Papa after her bath.
Such a smiley girl - even if she is like a tornado, she's a pretty cute one.
I had a lot of data entry to do at work today so that allowed me to do a lot of listening to my latest audiobook and I was able to finish it.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
This one has been on my To Be Read list for a while - I liked it - not as much as some of the recommendations I saw for it but I'd give it a 3.8 out of 5.
Now to choose another book.
I remembered that I had some listening hours over on Spotify so I popped over there and started in on the third Emma Lion book.
They are only about 4 - 5 hours long and they cost less than my monthly membership for audible so I don't want to waste my credits on them.
But they are also around $10 - $14 each so I don't want to buy them all either.
Spotify goes by hours so I'll be able to listen to 3 each month so I think that's the way I'll go.
I hopped on the treadmill on my lunch hour.
I just walked - I didn't feel like running this week for some reason - I'll try again next week.
The girls came over after work.
Eden wanted to play 'Happy Birthday Eden'.
So Jason made her a little cake out of cookies, put some candles on it and we sang Happy Birthday to her.
Playing Happy Birthday.
We did it several times.
Again!!!
What's your sister's name?
Blowing out candles is very hard work.
She just loved it.
She struggled a little with blowing out the candles but she kept trying and she did it.
She was getting so close I was afraid her hair was going to catch fire so we had to stick really close by to make sure that didn't happen.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
She loved it and we played it over and over.
Quick interview with Freya.
We had a chill evening and both girls spent the night with us.
I'm still playing catch up on emails at work but it isn't too bad.
It's payroll week so I had to leave emails a bit to work on that.
It is very cold outside, like -36 so too cold to go out for a walk.
So I hopped on my trusty treadmill on my lunch hour again.
I was planning on doing a 1 and 1 run but I only ran 1 minute and I just wasn't feeling it today.
I was watching Everwood and when I ran, I couldn't hear what they were saying.
So I just walked again but I did 50 minutes plus my warm up and cool down.
It feels good to be getting my activity in each day and I've been tracking my points too.
I really want to get back to running though, I'm going to have to push myself to do it even if I don't want to.
Maybe go back to listening to music instead of watching tv shows.
I picked Freya up after work and took her to dance.
I did some more cleaning, started the laundry then decided I didn't feel like getting into the craft room instead, I found a puzzle that I just got at the second hand store and decided to do that.
It was a 500 piece so I knew it wouldn't take me too long.
It was a busy picture, I really like these kind.
I did end up finishing it in a couple hours.
I ended up really liking it - the pieces were really different but good quality.
Very fun puzzle.
I'd picked Freya up after dance and she was chill tonight, just playing Roblox or cuddling next to me.
Kody came and picked her up when they got home from Whitecourt.
Jason and I watched some Dateline before heading to bed.
I was feeling very snacky tonight and ended up going over my points allotment for the day.
Gee Whiz - I can't even get a 2 day streak in but tomorrow is another day and I'll try again.
He's off tomorrow, lucky duck.
Although I can't complain as I'm only working 3 days this week.
Haylee posted this adorable picture of her and Eden - I love it.
I had to do a bit of walking around the house tonight to bring my step count to 12,000 and I got it done.
