A Vow Renewal (Aug.16, 2025)

I had some more pictures from Jason when I got up this morning.

He had a sleepover last night with a couple of his favorite people.

They were looking a little sleepy this morning.

Peace!

Morning snuggles.

Trying on glasses.

Eden wants in on the fun.

Giving herself a facial - she got these masks yesterday with Jason at the mall.

I got up this morning and headed out for a run.
This is looking back up at my cousin Lisa & Todd's house.

This is the way I went - you can see the ocean there to the right.
They really have a gorgeous view from their place.

I saw one of these fuzzy orange caterpillars - Kody collected a bunch of them one time when he was little.

I was hoping to get a 5k run in but I only got about 2k in when I had to go to the bathroom.
I had to stop and walk.

It got so bad that I had to call my sister to come and pick me up so I just kind of walked slowly back while I was waiting for her.

I was near this nice area - I think it might have been a park or something.

And look at this gorgeous tree!

Love a red barn especially in the middle of a bright green field like this.

This is the living room area in the downstairs of Todd & Lisa's house.

It also has a lovely view - looks like it is shaping up to be a beautiful day.

This is the upstairs balcony off of the main living room.

The ocean melts into the sky.

That is where I went for the run today.
I wish I had more time here so that I could go for a walk down to the shore but we have a busy day ahead and then tomorrow we are heading out.

Someone brought over some quahogs so I had a few and they were yummy.

The wedding vow renewal was going to happen in the yard by the barn looking toward the water.

Everyone gathering for the ceremony.

A couple of my Auntie's stayed close to the house in the shade.

Looking back at all the benches set up.

Some of the family.

More of the family.

Erin & Justin.

You can see the wonderful view behind them.

It was super hot but there was a nice breeze.

Even though Erin & Justin are technically already married - the ceremony was kind of like a wedding and it was very touching.

Erin is very sentimental so there were some tears (happy ones) and also some laughter.
I was happy that I was able to be there and be a part of it.

My sister did a reading.

Erin moved from Australia back to NS where she'd lived before moving, and moved in with Jen so she could finish high school with her friends and they got close.

Some of the family moved into the house after the ceremony just to sit and visit.
Mom and her sister Linda.

My Uncle Wade.

My Auntie Arlene.

There was lots of food to eat - hanging out with the family eating.

Hazel having some food too.

Dad was feeding her.

Lisa made the cake herself - she added fresh flowers and berries.

Allison and Tricia.
In a few weeks time there will be another celebration as Allison and Brody will be getting married.
I wish I could make it to that one too but that isn't going to happen unfortunately.

My Aunt Betty and I.

My Uncle Gerald and his lady friend, Florence.

I love it when the family can all get together.

And there is so much room in here everyone could fit comfortably.

So nice.

I loved my cousin Pam's dress.

My Uncle Wade.

My Aunt Linda.

Mom and my Aunt Arlene.

After we ate, we moved out to the tent.

Erin & Justin cut the cake and we served it.

Another gorgeous sunset.

The party is in the tent now.

Having snacks.

Gilles and Justin hit it off.

Todd took a picture of the house with his drone (not tonight but I just thought I'd sneak it in here because it was taken at sunset too).

Blair, Danielle, Amanda, Jen and Mom.

Danielle and her boys.
I love this picture.

Taking some family pictures - Pam, Blair and their boys.

Let's get the bride added in there.

Let's pile in Tricia too.

Little Michael (Jacob's son) wanted in too.

The bride and groom sharing a moment.

Our numbers were dwindling but there were a few of us left.
Mom, Charlie, Amanda, Jacob (holding Mathew), Erin and Justin.

Blair, Todd, Allison, Danielle (you can't see her head in this picture), Amanda and Jen.

There's a better picture, you can see Danielle in this one.

Charlie was entertaining us all evening.
He's a good kid that Charlie.

Back in the house, we all sat around and watched Erin and Justin open their gifts and cards.
We had A LOT of laughs.

Like at one point, Brody asked if they'd come across his card yet and when they said No, he said 'Oh, it must still be at Walmart' then he pulled some money out of his pocket and gave it to them.
It was pretty funny.

I loved just sitting around and chatting, it was just Jen and I, Todd, Lisa, Erin, Justin, Tricia, Gilles, Pam, Blair and their boys and their spouses.
I was tired but I didn't want to go to bed because I was just loving being with everyone so much.
It was my favorite time of the whole visit.

We eventually did have to go to be though and I just crashed immediately.

I am so grateful that I was able to be here and spend time with family.
I love them all so much.

I vowed to myself that I am going to try to make an effort to come for more visits as often as possible.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Made it to PEI (Aug.15, 2025)

It was an uneventful flight which is just how I like my flights to be.

I didn't get any sleep at all but I was feeling good when we landed, we even landed a little early.

My sister picked me up and brought me over to her hotel room - she was staying by the airport.

Yesterday was her last day in her house, the movers have moved everything and after this weekend in PEI, she'll be embarking on her cross country drive for her move to Edmonton.

A couple of her friends stayed at the hotel too just to spend her last night with her so we had breakfast with them this morning.

Then we went to the Mic Mac Mall to do some shopping and decided to get pedicures.
I tried to take a selfie of us all.

Then one of the nail techs insisted on taking a couple pictures for us.
One from my end.

And one from this end.

They were really quick and they did a really good job.

Jen's friends left after that and we headed over to St Margaret's Bay road because Jen had to see her lawyer - she had some papers to sign for the house deal.

I sat in the car in the parking lot and waited for her.
I forgot how pretty it is out here.
She was in there for about an hour and I did end up falling asleep in the car while I waited for her.

We stopped to gas up and I found these at the gas station.
They looked interesting so I got them to try.
Sent a picture to Jason and Freya and she wanted to try them to so I got a bag to bring home to her.

Then we were off to PEI.
It's been a really long time since I drove over this bridge.

We made a stop at Cows because - BEST ICE CREAM EVER!

See - it even says so on this sign.

My sissy and I.
I'm so looking forward to having her live closer.

When we got to my cousin Lisa's - they were all busy setting up the tent for Erin & Justin's vow renewal tomorrow.
So we just jumped right in and started helping.

Mom was there - my Uncle Gerald dropped her off there earlier today.
She was the supervisor.

The happy couple all the way from England.

The view of the sunset from Todd and Lisa's house.

Pretty epic!

Zoomed in a little closer.

We moved inside and started setting up in there.
Lisa and Erin.

Jen

Blair.

It was so nice to see everyone.
It's so strange but I miss everyone in PEI more when I'm there.
I wish it was closer so I could go more often.

I saw some fresh strawberries at the store today - locally picked - so you know I had to buy some.

My Uncle Wade brought lobsters to my mom yesterday and she cooked them up and brought them over for Jen and I so we got right into it.
Jen used to work at the fish plant and she's really good at cracking lobster so she got the meat out of all of them for us.

Having a feast.

I was pretty tired after that so it was off to bed - we have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow.

Meanwhile, back in Alberta - Freya was really enjoying the wonderful bedding at Four Points - they have my favorite beds and bedding.

Looks like Ivy appreciated everything Freya left out for her and wrote her a note to let her know.

They had breakfast at the hotel.

Freya was stylin' today.

They headed over to the mall where they went swimming at the wave pool for a couple hours then toured around the mall.

Jason found some Dubai chocolate - I'm a little obsessed with it lately.
It is outrageously expensive.

Wearing Papa's hoodie.

They had chicken shawarma - there is a place at the mall that has great shawarma.

Freya loves it.

They also shared noodles - another food she loves.

They made a stop at Starbucks for cake pops.

She got a new build a bear.
I would say they had a pretty fun day and Jason sent me updates the whole time.

Right?!

OMG - ha ha ha

Kids are so funny.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
