Power Outage (Jan.7, 2025)

It was starting to warm up today and the sun was out - it was really nice.

Had to snap a picture of the hoar frost on the tree before it melts - it looks so pretty.

Enjoying a little morning nap in the sunshine.

We had a power bump at work this afternoon around 3:30.
The power went off then came right back on then Jason sent me this picture.
This is right in front of our house, the town was moving snow and looks like they severed a power line.
You can see in the picture here that the bottom half of the pole is missing.

When I got home from work I got busy working on undecorating.
I try to collect everything and put it all together and then I pack it up - this way I can pack like things together.
I almost always miss something but for the most part this method works really well.

I wanted to get on the treadmill but I kept delaying myself and doing just one more thing.

Then as I was just about to go down to the treadmill, Kody called to say that Freya really wanted to come over and could she.
Of course we said yes so we went down and picked her up.

She could see all the work going on at the power pole when she got to our place and she was curious so we took a walk down as close as we could so she could have a look.
They were replacing the pole - turns out they had to actually replace two poles at a whopping cost of $75,000.00 per pole - isn't that crazy?

Back in the house, Jason was about to make Freya some noodles and I was about to go down and get on the treadmill when the power went out.

So we got a bunch of candles lit and Jason went out and started the bbq to boil up some water for Freya's noodles and I decided to go down and bring up all of the storage containers for the Christmas stuff so I could get my steps in.

We drove Freya home around 8:45 and then when we got home, I still needed about 3000 more steps and the power was still out so Jason and I went for a walk.

It was kind of nice with the power out - the moon was out and it was really bright so we were able to see.
It looked like the power was out only in the center of town.
The top of town and the bottom both still had power so we stayed kind of in the middle part for our walk.

Back at home, we entertained ourselves on our phones for a bit - I played Solitaire and Jason watched videos and just when we decided to go to bed, the power came back on.
Haylee posted this cute picture of Eden rocking the Ace Ventura look.

She knows where her nose is now.
This was from a couple days ago but I just thought it was so cute.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
