Made it to Vegas! Strat Remodel and Peppermill (Aug.28, 2024)

We were up early, Jason headed out for a run and I got ready to head out too but it was grey, cold and drizzling rain so I scrapped the idea of an outdoor run and headed to the hotel gym instead.

I ran on the treadmill for 40 minutes then I went back to my room, changed and headed out to get myself a coffee.
Then it was back to the room and I worked on my blog until Jason got back from his run and we had to check out.

School started today - Freya is in Grade 1.

Her and Eden.

Her and her little friend Ella.

Zepplyn looks happy to be starting school too.

After we checked out of the hotel we went for pho.

It's been a long time since we went for pho - we've been opting to go for ramen lately but it was good.

We had green onion cakes too which I just love.

Looking forward to the nice weather in Vegas, It's supposed to be 41 the whole time we are there.
That doesn't hurt my feelings not one bit!

After pho, we stopped at Crumble to try this weeks cookie selections.
The iced oatmeal one was my favorite this time.

From there we headed to the airport, dropped the car off at the parking spot then were off to the airport.
Checking in was easy peasy and we were sitting at the gate waiting for our flight in no time at all.

On our way!

We are staying at The Strat again and they offered us an upgrade to their newly renovated rooms and it was a good price so we decided to go for it and I'm so glad we did because the room was really nice.

They did a good job - the thing that sold me was that they have fridges and coffee makers in these renovated rooms.

What I ended up loving the most though was the bathroom.
In their other rooms that we normally stay in, the bathroom was super small and the sink was outside of the bathroom just in the room itself and there was nowhere to keep our toiletries so this was way nicer.

There was a nice big mirror.

And a good size area for storage and stuff.
I think we are spoiled now and will always want these rooms.

After we unpacked we went for a walk down the strip - the plan was to go to Miami Slice in Fountain Bleu but it was closed.
It was late so a lot of stuff was closed so we ended up deciding to go to the Peppermill.

It's very retro in there.

It's got a neat vibe in there.

My Honey.

This place has been around for a loooooong time.

I had a strawberry salad and it had chicken on it.
The chicken tasted kind of weird - I couldn't eat it.

I would say that you come to the Peppermill for the experience but the food is just ok, not that great.

Then we just headed back to the Strat.
The weather was AMAZING!

I used to think that the Strat was kind of dumpy hotel but this is our third time staying here and we really love it.
We love being at this end of the strip, close to the Arts District and some really good restaurants.

I did a little gambling on the pinata game I like before we headed up to our room.

I didn't win at all, just lost, lost, lost and lost.
Gambling that way is not fun at all, I don't mind losing if I'm winning a bit here and there but to just lose sucks.
Won't stop me from trying again though!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
