Unfortunately our weekend away has come to an end.
We packed up and got ready to head out but first, we stopped for some breakfast.
We discovered that Eden really likes sausages.
Freya was tickling Eden's feel while Eden was busy relaxing and watching videos on the phone.
She looks so completely unconcerned.
Freya sneaking a peak at the videos.
She crashed pretty quickly once we got driving and ended up sleeping most of the way.
We stopped at the park in Barrhead to let the girls get out and stretch their legs and run off some energy.
It was such a nice day too - we didn't want to waste all of it cooped up in a car.
Freya
Eden
Finding some shade for a minute.
Just a couple of sisters having fun.
Eden looks like she's really enjoying herself.
They cooled off in the splash park.
Another giant piano.
Freya got good and wet.
It's so nice that towns have these splash parks for the kiddos.
The water was so cold so she was kind of unsure about going back in.
But she just went for it.
This is one of the outfits I just picked up for her in Red Deer - it's a little on the big side but looks super cute on her.
It's nice and light too.
Just running around living her best life.
Is there a better activity for a hot summer day?
The water would shut off and we had to go and press a button to get it started again.
She's trying to press the 'button' on this post.
Just look at that smile.
Snack time.
Smelling it.
Investigating it very closely.
Hmmm - wonder if it passed inspection.
The pure joy - I love it.
Can you believe how long her hair is?
Her best bud Papa.
He's so good with the girls.
That little mischievous look on her face - love it.
Trying on Papa's glasses.
What do you think Grandma.
Trying to get his hat too.
Looks pretty good.
Peek a boo.
Having some watermelon.
It's just about as big as her.
We hung out there for about an hour or so then when we were trying to get the girls back into the car, Freya refused to come.
We tried and tried to get her in the car but she didn't want to leave.
So we said if she didn't get in, we were going to leave.
She said she didn't care so we all got in the car and called to her one more time.
Still no go so we drove away thinking she would come running, she did not.
There was a little building right by the park so we drove behind it then came right back and Freya was just kind of standing there.
She didn't say too much so I didn't think it had bothered her at all but then when I went over to her she just started crying and was so upset.
She was so scared that we'd left her behind and I felt so terrible for scaring her like that.
She got over it soon enough but I kept thinking about it for the rest of the day and was just so angry at myself for doing it.
I felt like the most horrible, terrible person ever.
I will never ever do something like that ever again.
When we got back home, we dropped the girls off - Mom and Dad were missing them and happy to see them.
Then we just unpacked and had a quiet evening at home.
It was a nice weekend away with them and I look forward to doing it again.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
