City Trip with Sketchy Roads (Jan.17, 2025)

It's Friday!!!

I woke up this morning to a notification from West Jet saying that I could go ahead and check in for my flight tomorrow morning.

What?!

I thought Mom was flying in Sunday morning - turns out I had that wrong, she's actually flying in tomorrow.

I had planned on heading to the city tomorrow but looks like I'll be going tonight instead.

Jason decided to come with me.

The roads were not nice at all, icy and blowing snow - it was a long drive but we made it.

I wanted to get a pedicure but my head was hurting too much after the stress of that drive so we just went to the mall and walked around so I could get my steps in.

We were going to try the new hot pot place at the mall but it was crazy busy, there was a huge line up of people waiting to get in so we just went to the food court instead.

I tried a new place called Poulet Rouge.
It was basically chicken with 4 different sauce options, I chose lemon and bbq.

You could have it over a poutine or in a bowl on a few different options, I chose lettuce.

I also got a frozen lemonade from Chick-fil-a.
They also currently have a lime one right now so I tried one of those too.
Both were great.

Isn't this cute?

We spent the evening walking around the mall - Jason got new shoes.
I was looking for some too but didn't find any.

Then just off to the hotel where we watched an episode of Dateline before calling it a night.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

The Illness Got Me (Jan.16, 2025)

It was a nice sunny day today, melted away some of the snow which was nice.

Jason sent me some pictures of our kitties enjoying the warmth of the sun.
Paddington.

Hazel.

Jason had a delicious supper ready for me when I came home for supper.
Not only was it delicious - it looked beautiful too.

After supper it was down to the treadmill to get my steps.
It's so weird that I'm having trouble getting a picture of the time lately for some reason.
The total time flashes so I just have to snap the picture at the right moment and it looks like I do but when I look at the picture, the time has disappeared.
I tried several times always with the same result so eventually gave up and just got a picture of the rest of the stats for the walk.

I've gotten my 12000 steps in every single day this year so far - feels good.
I was hoping to get started at running again but I haven't been feeling great this week.
I kind of have a cold, kind of a sore throat, achey body, stuffy nose causing a sinus headache which is the worst symptom.

As soon as I feel better, I plan on getting back to doing some running but for now I'm just happy to be getting my steps in each day.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Feeling Better and Ready for Mom (Jan.15, 2025)

Another day of work as usual - nothing interesting to report there.

Jason was off today and he cooked us up some chicken, sweet potato and made a salad to go with it for supper.
I forgot how much I love sweet potato, it's been a long time since we've had it - we used to have it all the time.
We would make it into sweet potato fries.
Jason just boiled this and it tasted just as good if not better.

I went down and got on the treadmill to get my steps in, it took me nearly an hour to get it done.

While I was down there, Kody brought the girls over for a visit.
Eden is feeling much better - so happy to see that!

After they left, I got the rest of the toys organized and then I vacuumed and now everything is ready for mom's return.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Basement Clean Up (Jan.14, 2025)

I had a busy day full of meetings today - made the day go by quickly.

Then I had a Mission Possible Meeting.

I stopped and picked Freya up on my way home - she wanted to come for a visit - she's going to spend the night.

As soon as I got back home, I headed right downstairs to get working on cleaning up, Freya came with me to help.

I've been at it the last few nights and I'm making progress.

I got the other side of the basement all done, now all that's left is to organize all of Freya's toys which is what we worked on tonight.
We got most of it organized but I forgot to take some 'after' pictures.

I hopped on the treadmill while we were down there, I wanted to get all my steps in but at the 20 minute mark, Freya insisted that I go back upstairs with her.
She wanted to have a bath.
So I did go up and get her a bath ready.

When Jason got back home, I went back down and did another 15 minutes to finish up.

Got all my steps in!

One of the guys at the Mission Possible meeting tonight recommended this movie - said it was an older movie but he just watched it today and he thought it was great.
So I may give it a try.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In Day (Jan.13, 2025)

 Weigh In Day

I was 226.8 lbs today

That's down 1 lb which isn't a huge amount but hey, it's a step in the right direction so I'll take it.

It was a regular day at work today.

I thought I had to curl tonight but it ended up getting cancelled.

So I had to hop on the treadmill when I got home from work to get my steps in.
For some reason I couldn't get a picture of the time - so weird.

Regardless - I got all my steps in for the day.
I did notice that I'm starting to get a bit of a sore throat - I think I picked that up from the girls on the weekend.
I hope it doesn't get too bad or linger too long.

Haylee posted this cute picture of Eden.
I called to check on her and they said she is feeling better today.
Haylee also cut her bangs so they aren't right in her eyes anymore - looks good.

That's all for today, until the next time, be happy!

Another Chill Day (Jan.12, 2025)

It ended up snowing again yesterday after I shoveled so I spent another hour out shoveling again this morning.

We didn't get as much luckily so it didn't take me as long today.

Kody and Haylee both had to work again today so I had the girls again today and Eden still wasn't feeling well.

So this is how we spent much of the day again today.

Awww, she looks so tired, poor dear.

She did perk up a bit and managed a smile for the camera.

But soon enough, she was back to sleeping.

I hate it when they are sick and you can't do much for them.
She didn't complain at all or cry or anything thankfully, just got in lots of rest.

This was my view for most of the day.
So I didn't get to the basement again but that's ok

I'm glad I was able to spend the day caring for her and just loving on her.

Freya spend a lot of time on my phone, she found this mermaid tail that she really wanted so since she was being so good and helpful today keeping herself busy while I cared for Eden, I ordered it for her and she is super excited.

Kody did get home a bit before 8 but he just left the girls here while he picked up Haylee from work so it was close to 8:30 when they left and I had to go down and hop on the treadmill to finish getting the rest of my steps.

It only took me about 20 minutes so that shoveling really helped again today.

Feeling good to be back to doing some activity anyway.

I saw this idea and thought it would be super fun and easy to do with the girls.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Sick Girls (Jan.11, 2025)

After my morning coffee, Freya and I headed outside to do some shoveling.

We got quite a bit of snow yesterday so it took me about an hour and a half to do the stairs, walkway, driveway and sidewalk but I got it all done.

Freya ditched me about 15 minutes in because she was cold and went back in the house.

I gave Haylee a ride to work and Kody was working too so I ended up having both of the girls for the day.

They were both sick with colds - Eden a little more so than Freya.
Poor miss spent most of the day snuggled up to me sleeping.

Freya I think was actually on the mend.
She kept herself busy while I basically sat with Eden most of the day.
She sat with us too for some of the time and we actually watched Encanto.

I had hoped to get some cleaning done in the basement but that didn't happen today.
Guess there is always tomorrow.

That shoveling really helped with my steps today, I managed to get most of them from that then I did go down and hop on the treadmill for about 15 minutes when Jason got home from work so that I could get the rest of them in.

Kody and Haylee came for the girls just after 8 although Freya ended up spending the night again.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
