New Hair, Massage and Cake Decorating (Jan.25, 2025)

When Freya got up, we had a bit of a snuggle for a bit then she wanted her Auntie Zepplyn to come over so I said she could invite her.

Crystal was heading to work for the day so dropped her off around 11.

While the girls were busy playing, I decided to take care of getting rid of my grey.
I have a lot of it.
I don't normally do my own hair because it is so hard to see what I'm doing in the back but it's the front that bothers me the most so I figured if I got that really good, even if the back wasn't great, It would do.

I decided to go with a darker color so I had to do all of my hair, not just the roots so I had picked up three boxes of the same color and I needed all of them to cover all of my hair.

While it was working it's magic, I decided to work on a puzzle.
A 500 piece Disney puzzle.
I knew once I started I wouldn't be able to stop but I didn't have much else for plans today so figured it would be ok.

I left the dye on longer than it called for because my grey is pretty stubborn.
Then I washed it out and dried it and I think it turned out pretty good.

It's darker than normal but I like it.

It was a nice day out and the girls wanted to go for a walk so we walked to the store and they each picked out a cake mix and some icing.

Back at the house, they both mixed up their cakes and we got them in the oven to bake.
Once they were cooked, we let them cool and I took them and dropped them off at Kody & Haylee's because I had a massage appointment to get to at 5:15.

I love massage day!

Kody brought the girls back up afterwards so they could decorate their cakes.
(I finished up my puzzle while they worked on their cakes).

Zepplyn did a Taylor Swift theme.

Freya did a Michael Jackson themed cake.

I'm always so blown away by her imagination.

They got a chance to play with Jason for a while when he got home from work then Kody picked them up a bit later and took them home,

Jason and I had a quiet evening and that's a wrap on today!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Getting Tired of Shoveling Snow (Jan.24, 2025)

Guess what I did on my lunch hour today........Yup, that's right.......more shoveling.

We didn't get a whole lot of new snow but the snow that we did have was blowing around all over the place so I had to shovel everything again.

It took my whole lunch hour - at least I'm getting lots of activity in!

It didn't get me all of my steps though so as soon as I walked in the door after work, I went straight downstairs and hopped on the treadmill and it took me another 40 minutes to get the rest of my steps in.

Got it done and good thing I did too because just as I finished up, Kody stopped by with the girls for a visit.

I love seeing her with Dad's bear - it makes it feel like he's close to her and I like that.

Smiley girl.

Awwww, I love her.

She loves climbing up and sitting on this chair - I think it makes her feel like a big girl.

Freya of course wanted noodles as soon as she showed up at the house.

Grandma and Eden snuggled this way for quite some time.

Creepy - Freya loves rolling her eyes back and making it look like she has no pupils.

Kody came back and picked Eden up after Haylee got off work but Freya ended up spending the night.

I saw these cute chicks made out of egg shaped pieces of wood - I might try to make some.
I really like the glasses.

I'm back to thinking about re-doing my bedroom again and I really like this color palette.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Enough With The Snow (Jan.23, 2024)

OMG, we had such a nice day yesterday then it was back to blowing and snowing today and we got a pile more snow.

So much in fact that I didn't even leave the office on my lunch hour - I just didn't want to go out into the cold and the wind and the snow.

One of the guys at work (Calvin) was telling me about this pizza place downtown Edmonton right by where his son just moved to so might have to check it out next time we go to town.

By the time I left work, the snow had stopped and the sun was trying to come out so I got to work shoveling everything, AGAIN, when I got home.
It was after 6 pm when I finished - I was cold and sore.
Please don't let it snow tomorrow.

I still needed some steps so I hopped on the treadmill right away to get them out of the way.

Always feels great to get that done.

Then I spent the rest of the evening just watching some tv.

I got sucked into watching some videos on some of the stuff Trump has been doing since he got in office like pardoning all 1500 people involved in the Jan.6 rush on the capitol.

I am still in shock that he is in office again - he's a loose cannon - I just think he's a horrible person,
I can't believe they voted him in.

I try not to watch it because it just stresses me out and there isn't a darn thing I can do about it so it's useless to worry about it but sometimes it's hard to ignore.

Only 4 years less 3 days to go (Unless he decides to change the law that only allows a US president to sit in office for a max of 8 years which I would not put past him).

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

The Aftermath (Jan.22, 2025)

We got sooooo much snow last night.

Jason shoveled some this morning so we could get out of the house and get to the vehicles.

It was such a nice day out today after the crazy storm we had yesterday - what a switch.

I spent my show lunch hour shoveling snow.

These are the before - of course I got to take after photos.
I widened up this path.

Look how much this snow drifted into the driveway.
I didn't manage to get that done on my lunch hour.

I did get the bottom half of the driveway and the sidewalk done though.

When I got home from work, I got over the drifted part of the driveway at the top.
It took me over an hour to do it - managed to get all of my steps in today just from shoveling.

When I finished up, I was freezing and so hungry!
I made myself a toasted tuna sandwich for supper and it was delicious - hit the spot!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

So Much Snow! (Jan.21, 2025)

 Another busy day at work.

We had quite the blizzard today, it was crazy.

When I got home, Kody called and said that Freya wanted to come over so I went and picked her up.

I had to hop in the treadmill to get some steps in so she came down with me and did some working out of her own.
Before long she wanted to go back upstairs and have a bath so I took her.

That weird thing happened with the time again.
I managed to get about 20 minutes in before we went upstairs.

Not all the steps I needed but a good chunk.

While Freya had her bath, I walked laps around the living room to try to get the last 2000 steps in that I needed.
Kody called just after Jason got home to say he'd gotten his truck stuck on the way home from picking up Haylee - not surprising - there was a lot of snow on the roads.

So Jason went down and towed him out - didn't take long at all.
Then he had to get some play time in with Freya before he took her home.
There is so much snow - it's going to be quite the job getting it all cleaned up tomorrow.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In Day (Jan.20, 2025)

Weigh in day.

I was 224.6 lbs.

That's 2.2 lbs down - still moving in the right direction.
I got Freya ready and dropped her off at school.

I have a lot of work to get done this week at the office before we head out on vacation next week so I worked hard at it all day.
I didn't even go home for lunch, I just worked.

Then tonight I had curling.
We played a good game and won.

This is the little guy that my sister gave birth in November.
His parents are from France it and they've been in Canada since before he was born - there are legal issues that need to be sorted out before he goes home.

This is his furry sibling.

Awww - love his little grinch onesie.

He's pretty darn cute.

The puppy is too.

They did finally get the go ahead that they could go home so they had one final visit with Jen and Mom.

So Mom got to get some final snuggles in.

They say that Mom is his Grandma - and they just adore Jen.

And he is off across the Atlantic to his home in France.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

After Christmas Refresh (Jan.19, 2025)

I thought I was going to be in the city today picking mom up but since I'm home, I was able to do some cleaning.

I take all of my decorations down for Christmas so I got to work putting everything back up.

I liked how this wall looked so I took a picture before I took it down, that way I'd be able to put it back the way it was and that's exactly what I've done.

I may change up this door for a different piece of art but I have to think about it so I'll just leave it for now.

It does look good.
I put Dad's bear on a rocking chair in front of the fireplace and I love how it looks there.

I was also able to get in my craft room which had become a bit of a catchall - you could barely even walk into the room, and get it all cleaned up.

It looks super full but it is organized and now I can do some work in there again if I want.

I managed to get all of my steps today just from all the running around I was doing cleaning up.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Mom's Home! (Jan.18, 2025)

We had to be at the airport to pick up Mom at 9:46.

She actually ended up getting in a bit early.

We stopped at Costco and Walmart and then got a quick oil change on the car before we headed home.
Jason had a massage booked for 6 pm that we wanted to get home in time for.

When we got home, Kody and the girls came over for a visit to see mom.

She was snapping some pictures of herself.

Ha ha - not my best angle.

Freya is so creative - she made herself some mini stilts.

Ha ha - just blocks of wood and elastics but it worked.

Mom was happy to be back and see everyone.

Kody and Eden having some noodles - they are a very popular item around here.

Jason posted a few pictures of Eden that he took - I love her big smile.

She loves it when Jason makes her fly around like Superman.

I did have to go down and hop on the treadmill for a bit to get to my 12,000 step goal.

Got it done!

Freya wanted to do my make up - she's so creative.

She spend the night with us - I'll take her to school in the morning.
She was doing some dancing before we went to bed.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
