Yogurt, Yogurt and More Yogurt (Jan.5, 2025)

I watched some Call the Midwife this morning when I got up.

I had a nice, quiet morning, did some blogging - trying to make sure I keep caught up.

Jason found this great deal on yogurt the other night when we stopped in to get snacks for the hotel so he went back yesterday and stocked up.

Our fridge is now loaded and so I had some for a snack last night then again this morning with my eggs for breakfast.
I add cottage cheese to it to give it extra protein and it's really good.

I hopped on the treadmill around noon to get some steps in.
I managed to get about 8000 in before I had to stop and hop in the shower - I have a massage today at 2 with Crystal.

It feels so good to be getting back at it and doing something active again.

It was cold out (-17) but I decided to bundle up and walk down to my massage appointment and it was nice to get out into the fresh air.

Massage day!!!!
Always look forward to this.

See how happy I am.

The massage was great.
Crystal and I were chatting and she asked me if I noticed if my slipper was wet this morning which I actually did notice but I didn't really think anything about it at the time.

Freya and I were kind of arguing a bit last night because I bought her a new toy (3 giant rubber ducks) and when Zepplyn came over last night, she gave them to her.
I said she couldn't because I just bought them and she told me that I wasn't a kid and I didn't know anything about toys 😂😂😂
It kind of cracked me up a bit but at the same time I was kind of annoyed that I'd just spent this money and I didn't want her to just give it away.
I ultimately just let her do it - She's kind and generous and I don't want to knock that out of her and really, what does it matter.

But anyway, back to the slippers, apparently she purposely soaked my slipper in the water and was telling Crystal that I 'deserved it'.
I can't even believe that she thought to do that - what a kid.

Jason was out for a run and finished up and met me when I was finishing up too so we walked home together.

Everything is covered in hoar frost right now and it looks so pretty.

I love how our tree looks.

The neighbors tree is so pretty too.

My snowman hanging by the door even looks extra special with the hoar frost on it.

When I got home, I had some more yogurt and cottage cheese - we have a lot to get through.
Then I sat down and booked mom's flight home finally - I've been procrastinating on it a bit.
I found her a direct flight on January 18 so I'll have to run in to the city to pick her up.
Might go in the day before and get myself a pedicure.

Jason was working on his course in his office so I got to work starting to take some of the Christmas decorations down.
I took all the ornaments off of the tree.
Jason said he'd take it apart tomorrow and put it in it's container out in the garage.
It's supposed to warm up to -5 tomorrow so much nicer for being outside.

My plan is to work on getting the Christmas decorations taken down and packed away over the course of this week then next weekend I'm going to get downstairs and clean up the basement in preparation for Mom's return.

Jason slow cooked some pork so I made potatoes and veggies to go along with it for supper.
For dessert guess what I had.....Yup, that's right, more yogurt.

I sat down and booked the rest of our stay for Phoenix.
When I booked the trip, I just booked the flights, the car rental and the hotel for the first 3 nights.
The concert I booked tickets for is actually in Tucson so we'll head down their on Jan.31 and stay there for 3 nights before heading back to Phoenix to fly home and I hadn't booked anything for Tucson so I wanted to get that done.

Vacation will be here before you know it so I wanted to be prepared.

Anyway, that's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Ramen Again! (Jan.4, 2025)

We went for breakfast at the hotel then we went for another quick swim before we checked out.

She and Jason must have went down the slide like 15 times in a row.

Then she wanted to go for ramen again and insisted on going back to Hu's Noodle Nook.

We had the same waitress as we had last night and she was surprised and amused to see us again.

Freya had ramen again and she pretty much finished off the whole bowl which is quite the feat, I am rarely able to do that myself.

I tried a chicken teriyaki dish but I didn't like it.

I had ordered edamame too so I just ate that.

We did a bit more shopping - I'm looking for some workout clothing that's a size bigger.

My clothes are feeling tight so I want something a little more comfortable.

Only a couple things though, I plan on being back into my stuff that I have right away here.

We also stopped in at Jysk so I could get a new tablecloth and at the checkout I saw another horse picture.

What are the odds?

We stopped at Lore Pizza for some supper.

We got two pizza's - one pepperoni with the traditional crust - we got them to add mushrooms too.
The pizza is so good - the crust is nice and soft and chewy in a good way.

They they also had Chicago style bar pie which has a thin cracker crust.
We got that in a pepperoni as well.

Their pizza is fantastic - it's never busy when we go there which we think is such a shame but we were talking to the waitress and she said they do have busy times, it's just very random.

After pizza, we made one more stop at Walmart before hitting the road for home.

Freya was entertaining herself in the back seat by taking selfies.

I'm just sharing a couple of the pictures she took but she took LOTS, believe me.

Ha ha - She is so silly.

She was talking to Zepplyn on the phone for a lot of the drive home and they made plans to have a sleep over but first, they wanted to play at our house for a bit.

So when we got home, Crystal dropped Zepplyn off at our place.
They stayed and played until 9 then I took them and dropped them off at Crystals.

Jason went for a run even though it was pretty cold outside.
I hopped on the treadmill and it took me about 30 minutes to get the rest of my steps in for the day.

So far, so good.
That's 4 days of getting my steps in under my belt and my eating was good too.

I haven't started tracking yet on Weight Watchers but I plan to.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

City Trip with our Girl (Jan.3, 2025)

It was much easier to get straight to work today and I got a lot of work done.
I managed to get through all of my emails which felt really good.

Hunter and Leland got dropped back off to Jason and when I went home at lunch, I got all of his stuff packed up and dropped him off to his Grandpa.
He is going to go stay there tonight since they are heading out first thing in the morning.

Alivia was over visiting at Morgan's so I stopped by there and said Good Bye to her.

I'm going to try to go visit them in BC in March I think.

After work, Jason, Freya and I headed into the city.
The very first place that she wanted to go was for ramen at her favorite place, Hu's Noodle Nook.

She wanted Chicken Karaage.

Then I wanted dumplings so we got those too.

My Honey.

She wanted her Tonkotsu with only noodles and egg just like always.
She was being a little jokester when I was trying to take her picture.

I got my favorite - Tan Tan.

Jason got the Black Garlic Tonkotsu.
This is likely the best ramen in the city.

Selfie.

After we ate, we went shopping and I saw a horse picture first thing - when Bonnie and I were in shopping about a month ago, we were looking everywhere for a horse picture.

Back at the hotel, Freya wanted to go swimming so we headed to the pool.

She actually wanted to go in the hot tub first thing which was good with me.

She is such a little goofball.

Ha ha - love it.

After the pool closed, we went to the gym together.
I still had some steps to get so while I was on the treadmill, Freya did some working out too.

So did Jason, he lifted some weights.

Freya was loving it, she didn't want to leave.

Getting her workout in.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

On the Right Track (Jan.2, 2025)

I had to go back to work today.
At least it's a short week seeing as it's already Thursday.

It was a little tough to get back into the work mindset but after some catching up with Bonnie and Shennelle to see how their Christmases went, I was able to get to work.

I hoped to hop on the treadmill when I went home for lunch but I had some running around to do so that did not happen.
Hunter came back over tonight, they are heading back home on Saturday morning but we are going to the city tomorrow night so this is our last night to spend with him.

His buddy Leland came over - he's a good kid.

Rob came over too to hang out.
We were going to play a game but that never happened.

The kids ended up just wanting to play so they ran around and played hide and seek and I hopped on the treadmill to get the rest of my steps in.

The kids were itching to get on the treadmill and have a turn so I stopped halfway through and let them have a turn.

Then I hopped back on and finished up.
It took about 50 minutes all together to get the rest of the steps that I needed.
It felt tough, I'm not sure if it was because it was late.

Hunter was having a sleep over at Leland's so I dropped them off at 9 and Kody wanted Freya to come home for the night so we dropped her off as well.

I got all my steps in and did not eat any junk so we'll call today a win.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

The New Year Has Begun (Jan.1, 2025)

Today was the first day of a new year so I weighed in again even though I just weigh in on Monday.

I just wanted to see where I am for the start of the year.

I was 231.4 lbs
Not where I wanted to be starting my year out but it's a fresh new start - I can do this.
Starting today, the junk is out the window.
I'm also going to start back getting my 12,000 steps per day (at least).

Eden woke up early so she and I snuggled on the couch for a bit this morning and watched some Call the Midwife together.

Even when the others got up, Eden and I still just chilled on the couch.

She's such a cutie pie.

I hopped on the treadmill to get my steps in.

I tried doing a little running here and there.
It was tough.
I got it done though and it felt good to be back at it.

Freya made a snack for Jason and I - she microwaved some chocolate and caramel together and put it on a plate with some chocolate chips cookies.

I had to pretend to have some for Freya's sake - I didn't want to hurt her feelings.

She is such a joy to us.

Kody came and picked Eden up just after lunch but Freya wanted to stay.

She wanted to do my hair for me.
Doesn't it look great?

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
