Swimming, Swimming, Swimming (Aug.3, 2025)

We made a bunch of suggestions of things to do with the girls today and all they wanted to do was go swimming.

Ready to hit the pool.

Waiting for the elevator.

Riding in the elevator.

Eden carrying her little bag of stuff - it was really just Freya's goggles.

After swimming, Freya wanted to go back to the D Spot.

Freya ordered the banana split and I loved the presentation.

She loved it.

We got good use out of the syringes.

Jason and I shared the pistachio tres leches cake.

And this Dubai chocolate bar.
Both were really good.

We did some more shopping then we wanted to take the kids to the wave pool in Blackfalds but they just wanted to go back to the pool at the hotel.
So that's what we did.

I remembered to take my phone with me this time so I could take some pictures.

She loved it.
Again we stayed in there until the place closed.

Pool selfie.

It's going to be home time tomorrow.
We've had such a nice time with the girls, I'm glad we brought them.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Red Deer Fun - Play Park, Swimming and Bowling (Aug.2, 2025)

Jason was up and out early for a run then when he got back, I headed out.

I came across this cute little building.

It was a little veggie stand.
I took a picture so we could go check it out later maybe.

I wanted to try to run 5k which I did but I had to walk a few times which was fine.
It felt good to get it done.

Jason had the girls at Boston Pizza getting some breakfast so I met him there.

There was an ice cream place next door so after breakfast we went there.

And had ice creams of course.

Awww - she is just so dang cute.

Then it was back to the hotel where we got ready and went for another swim in the pool.
I think we could have spent the whole weekend in the pool and Freya would have been perfectly happy with that.

Freya really wanted to go to a trampoline park but we couldn't find one nearby.
Instead, we took the girls to this indoor play park.

There was a room upstairs geared towards little ones so we took Eden up there.

Trying out the piano.

Going down the slide with sissy.

I've said it before but Freya is just a really wonderful big sister.

Freya on the climbing wall.

She is really good at it.

Freya was having a great time testing everything out.

They had these little rooms set up like different things - this one was a hospital room.

Back to the slides so everyone could slide together.

The arcade had this one ride that was free and it just kept going and going.
Eden sat on it for a really long time.

She wanted Jason to sit with her.

Ha ha - she looks like she's unsure what to think.

Freya was in the front - Eden assigned the seats to everyone.

After the play park, we went to The Gutter to bowl and have pizza.

Their pizzas have great ratings so we got two different kinds.
A Pepperoni.

Then this one was on the spicy side - too spicy for me.

The pizza was very good though - I'd go back again and have it.

Eden likes to pick the pepperoni off the pizza and just eat that.

Freya really liked the pizza - she could handle the spicy one better than I could.

We also bowled a game - the novelty wore off quickly though and Eden was getting fussy so we finished up and headed back to the hotel.

It was early so we took the girls swimming again and stayed right until the pool closed.

We checked out the weight room before heading back to the room.
Jason did head back down to lift some weights and stayed in the room with the girls.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Off to Red Deer (Aug.1, 2025)

We wanted to do a little summer trip with the girls so we booked a room in Red Deer for the weekend, got the girls packed up and headed out.

It was a gorgeous day for a road trip with these two beauties.

Road trip entertainment.

Between the snacks and the entertainment the time passed very quickly and before you know it, we were arriving at Sylvan Lake so we decided to make a pit stop there.

We waded into the water and it was so nice and warm, just like bath water.

We walked out quite a ways then the girls just laid right down in the water.

Freya found a treasure.

Jason got these cool shots of Freya - looks like she's running on top of the water.

Meanwhile, Eden was still sitting in the water.

Then laying in the water.

She was just living her best life!

We took them over to the park that they have near the beach and they played there for awhile.

Then it was back to water for another quick dip.

Freya is such a good big sister.

We went to a Vietnamese place we went to last year - Jason wanted a Banh Mi but they didn't have any.
We did get boba smoothies though.

Then it was back to the car to continue our trip over to Red Deer.

Our road trip snacks came in handy - we were loaded up with them.

Despite all the snacks on the drive, the first order of business when we got to Red Deer was to find a place to have some supper.
We found this one called D Spot that seemed to have lots of options and delicious looking desserts.

I liked the decor, these lights were upside down cakes, candles and all.

It was bright and cheery.

The walls were bars of chocolate.

Freya and I

Jason and Eden.

The food wasn't that great but the desserts were delicious.

Freya ordered this crepe with a lava cake inside.

What's inside?

I had the latest rage, the Dubai Chocolate cup - it had chocolate and pistachio - very good - very rich though - I couldn't eat all of it.

We stopped at Walmart after.
Eden was wearing this little short set I'd gotten for her - I got Freya a matching set.
Freya but this headband on her and it looked super cute.

I picked her up a few more summer outfits because they were on clearance and we got some snacks for the hotel then headed over there to check in.

We are staying at the hotel at the casino - it was a nice room.

After we settled in, we took the girls down to the pool for a swim.
It was a really large pool and a very comfortable temperature.
It had a hot tub as well so that was nice.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
