Jason wanted to do a long run this morning (21k) so I drove him over to Alberton and dropped him off at the trail there.

Visiting Family and Eden on the Farm (July 6, 2025)
He looked it up and it's 21k from here back to Tignish so the plan was for me to pick him up there later.
We saw a tractor parade on the way back to the vrbo.
All kinds of tractors just driving along on the side of the road.
I think a few years back Jason and I saw a tractor parade in this same spot - maybe its an annual thing?
We went back to Gerald's after and waited for Jason to make his way to Tignish.
Jen, Freya, Mom, my Aunt Betty and I all went over to visit my cousin Joan and her husband Derryl.
Derryl is going through cancer treatments currently and their son Travis got in a really bad car accident just a couple days ago so we wanted to take them cards and just let them know we were thinking of them.
Joan was actually gone to visit Travis at the hospital in Summerside but Derryl was home so we had a visit with him.
Jason finished his run so I picked him up then Chavonne took us to meet Randy's mother Bonnie who lives just outside of Tignish.
She would be Freya's Great Meme (grandmother).
Freya has met her before when they've come to visit in PEI but Jason and I never have.
My cousin Chavonne is friends with her so she took us over there.
I don't think she knew who Freya was at first but after she figured it out, she was so happy to see her.
She was a very nice lady and I think she was thrilled that we stopped by for a visit.
Freya was happy to see her too.
Bonnie is a dog breeder so we got to meet some of her dogs.
Freya also saw a porcelain doll that Bonnie had on her bed that she liked so Bonnie gave it to her.
It's a big one so Jen is going to bring it back with her later in the summer when she moves out to Alberta.
We went to dinner at Cousins Diner in Tignish.
Giving me the eye.
Jen came with us.
Me and my girl (she was pretending to be a grouch).
She didn't mean it.
We shared a bowl of seafood chowder that was delicious.
Then I had a scallop burger, also delicious.
Freya had a bowl of spaghetti.
Afterwards we stopped in and had a visit with my Aunt Arlene and Uncle Allan before heading back to the vrbo.
It was a long day and Freya fell asleep in the vehicle on the way back to our vrbo so Jason carried her in and she stayed sleeping on the couch for quite some time.
Meanwhile, back home, Haylee and Eden joined some of her family on a trip to a ranch in Saskatchewan.
Eden made friends with the farm dog.
Randy, Eden and Haylee enjoying a nice meal outdoors.
They went for a quad ride so Eden got outfitted with a helmet.
It was raining but the sun came out.
Aww, being bashful.
Petting a horse.
She wasn't shy or nervous at all.
Crystal and Rita.
Chilling with Auntie Zepplyn and cousin Emily.
Haylee and Eden.
Testing out the bouncy horse.
Nothing but nature for miles and miles.
Another of Eden and Mommy.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
Sail with the Family and Trying a Hand at Jigging (July 5, 2025)
Jason was up early and out for a run again this morning.
I had hoped I would be able to go too.
Last night I'd convinced Freya to let me go and I'd get Jen to come lay in bed with her while I was gone but then once we got in bed, she made me promise I wouldn't leave her.
I'm sure I could have gone anyway but it was a good excuse to stay with her - She's not going to want to snuggle with me forever so I need to take advantage while I can.
When Jason got home, we walked over to the bridge by the house for a very important ceremony.
A water burial for some dead crabs she found on the beach.
This is looking over at the house - it's so pretty.
It has a really nice big deck/porch but we haven't had much time to spend out there.
On the agenda for today was a sail.
My cousin Rodney was kind enough to take us all out for a sail so the plan was to meet at the run for 1 pm.
We got there a bit early so we checked out the fisheries.
I love the giant fish on the door.
While I was there, I popped in and picked up couple of cans of lobster paste to take home for Kody.
Giant lobster too.
It wasn't the best weather when we got up but the sail is still a go - hopefully it will clear up.
Some of my favorite memories of PEI are going out for a sail with the family and doing some jigging so I'm super excited that we are able to share the experience now with Freya.
Fortunately lots of my family was able to make it.
My sister Jen, cousin Pam, Aunt Arlene and cousin Krista.
My cousins husbands, Blair and Todd and Todd's buddy that happened to be visiting from Australia.
I met some of my cousins significant others for the first time today so that was nice.
Heading out to sea.
Some lobster traps.
I feel fortunate because not everyone gets to have an experience like this.
Rodney at the helm and Gary his second mate.
My cousin Lisa, Rodney's wife Amanda and their daughter Kenley and Bella.
All those lobster traps lines up and ready to go.
The lobster traps always used to be rounded but now they seem to have all changed to flat.
This makes more sense really - they stack a whole lot better.
The ladies again.
More of the crew.
Mom was enjoying herself.
Me and my girl.
About to hit the open sea.
It was clearing up and turning into a really nice day.
Freya hanging out in the cab of the boat with Quinn and Charlie.
Everyone was jumping around and visiting each other.
I might be biased but this girl is just so stinkin' cute - I just love it when she wears her hair this way with the two little buns.
Rodney and Gary pointed out this school of fish to us on the water there.
In all my years of being out on the boat - I've never seen it before.
Mackerel on the water off the North Cape in PEI.
Just another video of it.
Fishing with Papa.
Jason was the pro of the day.
I think we caught about 8 fish all together, Rodney caught 1, Freya got 1, I got one and Jason got the rest.
Lots of people were trying their hand at it though.
Amanda, Rodney and Kenley.
I think it was actually her that caught the fish, not Rodney now that I'm thinking about it.
There's Freya's fish that she caught.
She was excited.
Helping Gary get it off the hook.
There he is, one lone little fish in the crate - this was before we caught the rest.
Jason showing his fish off to Quinn.
Quinn wanted to see but she didn't want to get too close.
She ended up getting really sea sick by the end of the sail, poor little thing.
Jason just kept pulling them in.
The windmill farm at North Cape.
The lighthouse at North Cape.
Jason and I.
Buoy out in the water - It possibly was a weather station.
Jason.
I love being able to hang out with the family - I was able to have a good chat with Pam and catch up a bit on the news.
Sails always consist of lots of snacks.
Mom and Krista.
Chavonne and Mom.
One of the significant others had a mini croc shark on her croc - so cute.
The girls hanging out in the cab again - these two got along so well and were fast friends.
Sisters.
Charlie.
Rodney and Gary.
They are camera shy.
Amanda and Jennifer.
Kenley
Carver
Chavonne.
Pam
Bella and Carver's girlfriend.
Keisha and her girlfriend.
Lisa and Todd.
Blair.
Aussie Guy.
Dudes posing.
Arlene and Krista.
Jason and I.
We spent several hours out on the boat then afterwards, a bunch of us headed over to Gerald's for a get together.
Lisa was gutting the fish and preparing to cook them.
Freya and Quinn were interested in what she was doing.
Freya even wanted to help out.
She got right in there too.
The fish guts didn't scare her at all.
Learning how to clean a fish.
We took the girls to Shirley's Diner for some supper.
I went back to Gerald's because everyone was meeting up there to just hang out for the evening and Jason took the girls over to the park to play for a bit.
Freya spent a lot of time on the monkey bars.
It is currently one of her favorite things to do.
She's really good at it too.
I don't even think I could go across once but she does with ease and over and over again.
Back in Gerald's garage everyone was just hanging out and visiting.
I got to see a few more people that I hadn't gotten to see yet so that was nice.
At some point in the evening someone asked my cousin Paul's son Jed what he wanted to be when he grows up (he's currently around 8 yo I think) and he very firmly and seriously answered 'drug dealer'.
He said they make good money and don't have to pay taxes.
Ha ha.
While the adults visited in the barn, Freya and Quinn played outdoors then when the mosquitos got to bad, they hung out in the car.
The two of them got along so well.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
